    I am publishing this to document my personal experience with GhostSwap and to help others make informed decisions. This post is based on my personal experience and publicly available blockchain data.

    What happened:

        I sent 12.441 ETH to GhostSwap for a swap on 24 May 2026.

        The funds were received, but the swap has not been executed.

        I completed full KYC verification via SumSub and provided source-of-funds documentation.

        Since then, support has only responded with "no updates" and has not provided timelines or a resolution.

    Blockchain observation:

        The transaction flow shows that the funds were forwarded to an address associated with HitBTC.

        When I asked GhostSwap about this, they stated that HitBTC is not holding my funds.

        If this is correct, it raises questions about who currently has control over the funds and the execution path of the swap.

    Key inconsistencies:

        GhostSwap's marketing materials describe the service as "KYC-free by default" with most swaps processed without verification. In my case, full KYC was required and funds remain unresolved.

        Their Terms state that GhostSwap is non-custodial and does not hold user funds, yet my funds have been pending for over a month.

        Blockchain data indicates routing through a HitBTC-associated address, while GhostSwap denies custody or control at that stage.

        I requested disclosure of the licensed processing partner responsible for my transaction, but received no answer.

        I sent a formal request to both support and legal contacts, with no response so far.

    Actions I have taken:

        Completed KYC via SumSub (25 June 2026)

        Submitted source-of-funds documentation

        Submitted formal requests to support and legal contacts

        Filed public reports on Trustpilot and KYCnot.me

    My goal: To recover my 12.441 ETH or complete the requested swap.

    I will update this thread as the situation develops.

I always keep telling people some of these services that market themselves as no-KYC exchanges actually lie most of the time, especially if they use third-party liquidity providers. People should completely be aware of that fact before trying to swap any point. The fact that they are associated with HitBTC even makes it worse.

Good enough; the amount OP tried to exchange is roughly $20K, so the escrowed amount can cover that in case things go south.

I reached out to GhostSwap and we'll see what they respond. However, because Benedesuuuk didn't use our link there's little we can do, both in terms of compensation and pressuring GhostSwap. I'll see what can be done.

Bare in mind that just because an exchange advertises being never-KYC to our users doesn't mean they have the same policies for other users.

If the user had used OrangeFren.com we'd be able to refund him without any of this.

And what they're dealing with is HitBTC, a notorious nightmare on this forum. I think all the escrow providers involved should give Ghostswap a deadline to resolve this issue and let it be their own business, as they've been selling their "no KYC, in your own control" advantage to customers.

And yes — just today GhostSwap said they asked the compliance team to make my case a priority and hope to give a better estimate soon. I hope it's not just words this time.

you're right, it is a weird situation.

I used GhostSwap because it said "no KYC" and I thought it would be simple. Turned out they asked for full KYC after I sent the funds, and now I'm stuck waiting without any clear timeline.

Also, when I asked about HitBTC, they told me HitBTC is not holding my funds. But the blockchain shows my funds went to a HitBTC address. So I don't know who to believe anymore.

I just want my 12.4 ETH back.

GhostSwap’s terms of use state that transactions are subject to automated AML screening. Before taking any claims of no KYC at face value you always have to read these terms to make sure that isn’t just some misleading marketing.

I believe the reason you encountered these problems is because your funds can be traced back to Tornado Cash. Going through cross-chain bridges before depositing to HitBTC/GhostSwap did not do enough to obfuscate the origin.

GhostSwap clearly violates their own "no KYC" promise, and I see no reason why we should continue to wait indefinitely.

If the escrow providers (OrangeFren, Trevoid, and others) are willing to release the funds to affected users — I am ready to accept that as a solution. GhostSwap can continue their internal checks on their own time and recover their funds later if they believe they are right.

But holding my 12.4 ETH for weeks or months without a clear timeline is not acceptable.

I don't know anything about Tornado Cash and I've never used it. The funds I sent came from a legitimate sale — I have a signed agreement to prove that, and I already provided it to GhostSwap.

As for the "no KYC" marketing — to me it's like a website saying "we have no fees" but then taking 10% commission. It's simply misleading. They advertise one thing, but do another. Don't you agree?

Thanks for your response here; I believe that allegation will be resolved shortly. It's a matter of your reputation; unless that thread is marked resolved, your other users will find it and may avoid using your service. People are using your swap with faith, so don't break that faith. Whether victims raise concern here or not, your support team should respond to every support ticket. Once you respond to the support tickets, they might not come on the forum. Also, that will increase your trust when users get a resolution from the support system.

Since you responded here, I'm not taking any action from my end, like negative feedback or flags. But please help that user to resolve the issues; the amount is big, and victims won't give up. If you need our help, then we are here always; I really don't like to destroy your reputation anyway. So please cooperate on that case.

Before using a swap, you should also make sure that you aren't sending dirty funds to it. Otherwise, you have to use a reputable non-KYC swap; there are a couple of non-KYC swaps like b1exch and others as well. These swaps usually don't ask for the source of funds. Funds coming from Tornado Cash would be considered dirty funds; even Binance flagged my account once due to funds coming from Tornado Cash. Remember, prevention is better than cure.
