Quick update.

On July 22, GhostSwap requested documents from a third party — I had to ask an acquaintance to confirm the sale in writing and provide their personal documents. They also suggested that documents from my relatives could help the case.

Is this normal? Asking for personal documents and business records from people who are not even customers of the exchange?

I completed my own KYC. I could provide this information to the police if there is an actual case. But GhostSwap has already misled me twice — first with "no KYC," then by denying that HitBTC holds my funds.

To ask for info from the other party of the sale that's the source of your funds - yes that's normal.
To ask for info from just random people unrelated to how you obtained the coins - no. That would be very odd.

No, this acquaintance introduced me to the buyer, and the deal went through later. This acquaintance submitted a written application and attached his document at GS's request (I had to ask him to do so).

But the buyer's phone number has been unreachable for a long time. However, my friend has made various transactions before, and everything always went well

I smell the bad intention. They won't refund you a single dollar. Go to court if you don't have nothing to fear of. OrangeFren is the only side here that can help you.

If you can push the case to an advanced stage to find a solution. You hold their money and they need you to be listed in your site despite being a KYC exchange. Do you still think they deserve to be listed in your website after proving they are liars?

Did you check the same terms before accepting to manage a campaign promoting Ghostswap as a privacy-first, no-KYC crypto exchange? If NO, then you have a problem. If YES, then you have two problems.

It's starting to make sense: Murat got paid by selective scammer "Ghostswap" to promote their website on Bitcointalk. Murat literally claimed that it's a "No-KYC Crypto Exchange", and now tells users they should have read the Terms so they could have known he's advertising a lie.
This explains why he removed me from his Trust list:

I regret not using BestChange — at least there is some oversight there, and they can step in if an exchange misleads users. These "no KYC" listings on platforms like OrangeFren are just for show. They don't actually protect anyone. I'm starting to see that more and more.

What I still don't understand: GhostSwap pretends to solve my case, but refuses to admit that my funds are held by HitBTC. They misled me twice — first with "no KYC," then by denying HitBTC holds my funds. And some people still defend this?

I have nothing to hide. I provided my documents. But I don't know who they are. Who is behind GhostSwap?

This is quite a wrong conclusion to draw. It only confirms that you may not have the best approach to the whole problem.
Like you made a mistake because you didn't do enough research on Ghostswap and potential warranty/escrow conditions in the case of a refund, so you sent a slightly larger amount at once to an "unproven" service. Now you recognise Bestchange as a better alternative, and if you try a little harder, you will see many cases where BC is accused because they preferred to defend the exchanger rather than the user.
Whatever your case ends up being, and I sincerely hope for a positive outcome, you need to learn as much as you can from it.

Thanks for your comment. Yes, I suppose I'm exaggerating Bestchange's merits a bit right now, but OrangeFren hasn't done anything for me so far either. I could be wrong, but that's exactly how it looks to me.

This is very similar to another story that happened recently, where LM, as Degen's manager, added a user to distrust list for leaving feedback against Degen.

In any case, they're both now on my distrust list.
