Good days ladies and gentlemen, I greet every forum user here especially those of us here in the gambling board that have not only been contributing to the gambling discussions but also have been actively gaining real personal experiences by gambling and or betting, because whether we believe it or not, it's not everyone of us who are active on this board are gamblers, some are here out of necessity.

Here is my reason for creating this thread, we are now in the seventh month of the year 2026, and what this means is that we've successfully gone past the first half of the year and are now in the second half, thank the God of the universe for life and well being...

What have you experienced so far in gambling and or betting? , especially in terms of winning..

My own experience so far..
All through the first half of this year, I don't remember anytime I've played any casino or slot game, (well, maybe a very few times that I can't remember), but the sure thing is that I've not made any winning from any casino or slot.

From January 2026 to this very day, I've been more focused on sports betting and my area of focus has always been on parleys (multi-bet), I've had a couple of winnings so far but there are all nothing to write home about, it's mostly between 5 and 15 odds winnings..
I've also missed alot of big odds parleys by two to five and seven games depending on how much legs contained in the ticket, but one I missed recently that pained me is this one in the shot below.
522 odds and 11 legs, won 10 and missed just one, so the ticket went bad.. Brazil verses Norway match did me dirty..

My experiences have been series of ups and down, wins and loses, but my greatest positive is ability to keep to my budget until now. I don't necessarily play slots. I prefer crash games to it but I spend about 80% of my deposits on sports betting. As expected, sports betting has given me my biggest wins of the year, not a very huge sum but something tangible and I don't think I'm in net loss. I'm still somewhat around 15% profits from my last assessment of my losses and wins. I'm still chasing it and hoping to get something better before the end of the year while having my fun.

I decided to limit the rate at which I gamble this year and that has really helped me a lot which I think is the best thing that I have done for myself in order to cut down losses financially. It's still the same old experience of more losses than profits but what can I do than to continue gambling with what I can afford to lose since it's fun.

I don't find any interest in casino games/slut, so sport betting ticks all the boxes for me. Although I haven't had any major wins, I hope to get lucky before the WC ends.

So you really thought Brazil could defeat Norway, with Halland in the team? This is worse set of selection that the Brazilians made for a WC competition. What was Endrick doing on the pitch when they had someone more confident to replace him? So many controversial thoughts on that but I think that boy needs to go back to the drawing board. Sorry for your loss Btw.

I do not do any calculate but I am a very good gambler not because I am winning high amount of money but because I am only losing small amount of money if I am losing. Right now I do not know if I am in profit or loss because I am not counting it but if I use high amount of money I will probably know. All I know is that there are times I won in casino and there times that I lost money in casinos. Also there are times I won money in sport betting and there are times that I lose money in sport betting.

I have had similar experience throughout the years, whether it was last year or this year. I usually play blackjack and after a couple of wins you will find yourself confident about the next one which will be a loss. Still BJ is one of those games where the odds are higher for the player compared to other games.

At present the world cup is going on, so there are more interesting games on which bets are being placed this year which might not be the case every year.

Still I feel that the end result of any gambling game is a loss in the long term and hence we should limit the total amount of money spent.

I have not really had a good gambling experience this year even though I decided to take a different approach by setting limits and also reducing the rate at which I play casino games nothing really worked out. One thing that I have learnt to do is to reduce my expectations because there are no guarantees when it comes to gambling.

Nothing special, I mean I was really looking for some big parlay odds, but I have no luck with it yet. I am still trying, but it is hard to hit because I have a very big target.

For single bets, that is my normal approach and I find it easier. Though based on my record, I cannot deny that I am not yet in a profitable state. I think for now, my main focus is improving my betting technique and trying to be more relaxed, so I can avoid doing stupid chasing, which results in losing most of the time.

I can imagine how sad and heartbroken you will be feeling right now because I have been there before not just once, not just twice either and in situation like this, you can not hold yourself no matter how much you try to and this is may not be as a result of using money you can not afford to lose but rather you will be calculating and checking the odds and how much you would have gotten from the game if not for that one game and at this point you will be blaming yourself for not cashing out but you will ask yourself again why will you cash out when Brazil is the favorite.

This particular thread has just reminded me on how i was struggling to win at very beginning of last season, my experience was so horrible and i was experiencing more of lossing than winning because sports betting predictions was merely based on the popular clubs and too much of accumulation of games in a ticket, kept me far from winning till one faithful day that i decided to deal with one single game, so i started staking on one game with reasonable stake to bost my potential winning, that is when i start experience much winning than losing.

This year I’ve already increased my gambling budget. Not by much, but it’s a little bigger than before.

I have a very negative attitude towards accumulator bets. From a mathematical probability theory perspective, they offer very low odds of winning. Moreover, in my opinion, placing accumulator bets is tantamount to giving your money to the bookmaker (after all, the bookmaker's margin actually increases with each new accumulator bet). Therefore, I prefer single bets. 🙋

I'm currently watching the World Cup with great interest. I recently bet on the Netherlands to beat Morocco. As you might guess, I lost. 🙂

Today, I bet on Spain to beat Portugal. Spain is considered the stronger team, but Portugal is also a great team and has been playing exceptionally well at this World Cup. Therefore, the chances of both teams winning are roughly equal. A draw in regulation time is also possible. More loses than last year, and I not because I have not learned from my previous encounter with gambling, but because unfavourable market conditions and realities played out against me most oftentimes, but at the moment I am at the venge of making a brake from active gambling for the remainder of the year, I will just engage in few sports bets on favorable games but will not play in house game for the rest of the year.

If I have to make the difference with 2025, the year 2026 still didn't go very well, I closed 2025 with a total profit of about 400 euros (that's very few) but I played all year and didn't lose any money, in 2026 from January to today it is about 45 euros, I'm in profit but I lost a lot of bets, so in general I didn't make big numbers, but I continue to play without difficulty.
I don't think I'll finish this year better than the previous one, I certainly hope so but I should get a good winning streak and I see it as difficult.

Same as ever, I play to have fun. I don't get obsessed over my victories or losses so I don't keep a track of them. I play and forget. The World Cup was very fun for me especially. I like these big tournaments. They always double or even triple the fun I get from gambling. Gambling itself is fun but these big tournaments make everything much better. Beer too. Man, gonna be honest with you, I didnt consider the presence of haaland being among the Norway players in that match as serious, my thought was simply centred on the fact that Brazil is a good football playing nation, and though Neymar hasn't been very important in this world Cup so far, but I was thinking he could atleast save his team or atleast help them get a two goals..

Because the bet wasn't a direct 1x2 bet where Brazil has to get a direct win for me to win the bet, it's an over 1.5 bet which required Brazil to score a minimum of two goals, they ended the match with just one goal and that is why I lost the bet, here is the bet..

I'm very sorry to see your multi-bet fail with just one loss, and you must be feeling deeply disappointed. Even with just $1, the hope of winning $500 was almost yours, but Brazil is truly unlucky.

In my experience with sports betting, I rarely win big, or more often, with single bets at low odds below 2.00.
However, I have had two fairly large wins at the casino in live poker games, and several in poker tournaments on this forum and local sites.

Casino has given me more, but in terms of profits, i am not doing so well, but that's ok as i am quite proud how i have managed to keep my budget while gambling. I was sure i might slip and spend more then i planned, but maybe it's because i was worried about that i have been trying extra hard not to.

I am currently looking for new ways to gamble, and prediction markets are starting to look interesting. I always thought that it would be a passing fad so i haven't invested on learning it yet. Even though i have tried it long before it was a big thing.

Well this year has been quite fine in terms of not losing my shit because of losses. I'm more of a casino game lover because I have a few favourite games over there which I enjoy playing plus lucky to win a few amounts. I think taking a look at our gambling progress make a lot of sense. It helps us evaluate how far and how terrible it might have been for us. Some gamblers may not even consider these kind of analytical checks and on the long term, they are simply losing a lot of money and allowing their emotions to be fed. The world cup is another season for many gamblers to risk what the cannot afford to lose and we will begin to hear a lot of shitty stories when the world cup begins to approach it's end..
