There's a similar horrible accident that happened in 2004. I think this is one of the most infamous accidents to happen to a football player on the field. It happened to a player named Paulo Diogo. He assisted his teammate in scoring a goal, and instead of running to his teammate to celebrate, he ran to the supporters. He jumped up onto the fence, and his fingers got stuck in it. He lost half of his left ring finger after he jumped down onto the field. It took him a few seconds to realize he had lost his finger. You can watch the video at the link I gave you below.

In Sambo and Judo kids are often taught how to fall correctly to avoid injuries. I think such knowledge should be transferred to kids at school during PE lessons. Any grown up person should know the importance of grouping before falling. Henderson probably avoided that knowledge It is ok to be clumsy for a regular person, but for a professional athlete that is unacceptable. Because one stupid mistake and you end your career or waste moment

I've gotta say that after watching the video of the guy breaking his arm, it goes to show you that athletes are still just people.  They can have freak accidents too.  This is why a lot of athletes have it in their contracts that they can't engage in shenanigans.  Not saying that is what happened here, but it is shocking how easily someone can break a bone.  I hope he has a quick recovery.

Although that wasn't an accident, it was premeditated, but it was absolutely ridiculous how it happened and how it was planned—the Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan case. They even made a movie about it; it was so stupid.
I remeber other, one from my era (I say this because of my age) is the one that gave none other than Iker Casillas his opportunity. He was a substitute, but the starting goalkeeper, in the bathroom of the hotel where they were staying, spilled his cologne, and in his reaction to stop it, the glass cut his foot... and if that hadn't happened, who knows if Iker Casillas's story with the national team would be what we know.

Perhaps the Perimeter fence he jumped that got his arms broken wasn't such a height to even expect that such incident could lead to the level of the damage he encountered.
Or does it mean the arms has already been broken before he made the attempt to jump the fence?
Obviously I'm finding it hard to believe what you've just said. Nevertheless, I believe there're tendencies that individual players can take unbelievable high risk just to get what they want.
Yes, some could even afford to undertake a risk that even when it takes them the penalty for banning or suspension sanctions they don't mind.

My heartfelt over the incident.
I could not watch further or even make fun of the incident as I also saw the laughing emoji attached to the X post containing the video.

I watched the arms dislocated and haven to recall how i broke my arms about 15 years, it was a very bad experience that I would not want to experience again neither do I wish it to happen to others because the pains felt like worse of my brutal experience.

Seriously, there's nothing funny about that incident and I don't understand why some people are making fun out of it. I only watch it once but I'm still shaking inside even as I'm typing this. It's a very horrible experience and I wish he recovered quickly. Only a heartless person will watch the video and find it funny.

I am concerned to know if the first guy that jumped the pitch barrier also batched the card too. I don't want to believe it was because of broken arms that warranted the yellow card either.

No. J. Henderson wasn't booked for jumping over the advertising board nor for broken arm. He was booked earlier for involving in the touchline drama during the extra time before the incident. The incident happened after the final whistle when they were celebrating their victory. Rashford still had the mind to jump over that same ads board even after seeing his colleague on ground

A very bad accident as he didn’t know and have that idea that he could get slipped off from trying to jump across the board, and it’s an unpredictable incident that could happened to anyone at any given point. Watching the video, it is so sympathetically seeing how he was confident of himself to jumped across the board and he was slipped off and broke his hands, this could happen to anyone out there if time not taken.

I think it is more ridiculous knowing that FIFA is now controlled by Trump as well. Trump called the FIFA president right after the USA match and forced him to lift the suspension of the player who got a red card during the match. According to the FIFA rules, the player should not be able to play the next match. However, Trump called the FIFA president and asked him to withdraw the suspension, which FIFA did, and now the player can play the next match.

You shouldn't be more surprised about this than you should be that a country in the middle of a war with another country was allowed to host a world cup which is a symbol of unity of the whole world. The controlling started right from when USA was allowed to host the world cup, but ALAs, even with the manipulation, they were still whipped in the ass by Belgium, bending the rules had no positive effect still..

How ridiculous do you think it is? In cricket, it is India who makes the call. Now in football, it is the USA that makes the call. What is the point of making those rules if it is different for different countries?

About Henderson, he was just unlucky with his jump, players do it on a normal. This was just his fate.

That's how humans behave, once one makes one mistake, they will start judging the person forgetting the good things he has been doing all the time, its just hard to please humans, its better for one to do what pleases them. As for the person that got injured, its best if he takes care of himself first and forget about the team. Although, there are some people who are good and show support for the one they care whether in little way or not and its good for one to surround themselves with such people especially in this kind of state.

Yes accident can happen to any person and it's not something that is planned or expected to happen.
The way people are losing their lives due to mistakes and accidents is something we can not comprehend.

I just clicked to watch the YouTube video, and to be honest, it was really interesting watching the craziest "1 in a Trillion" moments in Sports History as shown in the video. As it display clips of some of the unexpected Sport moments we never saw coming, ranging from baseball, American football and e.t.c. However, the way I found most funny things most was the exact video on the screenshot you shown above, where th catcher of the baseball game unknowingly fell into the fence of the field while trying to catch the baseball, as it was really funny as the entire stadium erupted into laughter.

Exactly. All players knows that because if a skillful players have injury in a team, it affects the team very badly and we have seen it from the Brazil National Team and others also in the Club-side matches like La Liga and Premier League matches. Liverpool took the Premier League title before last season but last season they could not because they had more injury players. DPHOR the player can't withstand with an injury while playing. With the pain once it happens, you can't endure and that is why there are medics on standby. It comes suddenly unaware.

What the fuck... Reading your post gave me goose bumps because I can exactly imagine how that played out. 

Thinking back about some horrible incidences, there are a few fouls that I wouldn't even want to watch again. Some were really horrible and involved broken bones.

What I really hate is when you can see how painful headbangers were when two players jump in the air with max power and then try to head the ball but instead head against each others' heads. That feels brutal just from watching it.

That's how sports going sometimes even they aren't playing because they are in the team having their cheers and participation is a must and of course getting overwhelmed is normal even though they are just in the bench or not still the players are paid, just said thing here is its affect their careers reason they get idle and pending so they get less exposure came from sponsors and teams scouts.

They will get paid, certainly no doubt, but there might be some shortages in terms of how they earn, which is what I think unless it’s all part of the contract, and aside from the earning, the player will also miss doing what he is fun of doing due to that accident.

Popular culture has taught us to over-estimate and even believe Athletes are different from us, when in reality, their muscles, their bones and their organs happen to be as fragile and vulnerable as ours.

Though, I must admit that tripping on a bill board and breaking an arm in such an awkward manner is something which I would have not even thought possible for someone who is supposed to be a professional and was supposed to act as one.

Anyways, hopefully he will have a quick recovery and will be back on the stadiums quite soon.

Thanks for bringing this to our community, it has to be one of the most funny and unlucky incidents I seen before in a while especially to a known player. Probably that what he could win, coming on to provide experience for the team but ending getting a yellow card then breaking an arm while jumping over the advertising boards and ending your World Cup without even playing a single minute. I must say it’s a difficult achievement.

It also reminded me of the time a player celebrated a goal by sliding on his knees, got injured during the celebration and had to be substituted immediately (couldn’t remember his name). Those moments are rare but they always become part of football history.

In our local league, many funny incidents happen all the time. We see fans invading the pitch, players fighting each other, or matches being stopped because fans threw and burned the pitch. They may not always make international headlines but they definitely make our local football entertaining in their own way.

Everyone ends up losing: the player, whose performance is affected; the club, which loses both the player's contribution and money while he is sidelined; and the supporters, who often can no longer watch their star player (usually one of the team's top scorers) perform on the field.

Our health is our first priority, I wish him fast recovery,I know how painful it's gonna be for him right now , everyone will gladly play for their country ,him not playing again because of all these injury will definitely hurt him so much ,injuries to player is not a child's play I know how disheartening it's going to be on him but sometimes in life the unexpected happens and we have no choice than to accept the saddest reality,after planning on how to perform on the world cup only to end up broken on the sick bed ,quick recovery for him .
