Polymarket integrates Bitcoin payment via lightning network

For those of you who use Polymarket to make predictions, according to the latest news, Bitcoin payment via the Lightning Network has now been added to the platform.

Before now, users could deposit Bitcoin on-chain, but because of the time duration it takes for transactions to be confirmed on the Bitcoin network. Polymarket has partnered with Spark to support Bitcoin payment via the Lightning Network, which will enable users to make transactions faster and cheaper.

If you posted this on the gambling board, this thread would have had many people posted under it already, but also not bad on the bitcoin discussion. If no much replies, it can be moved to the gambling board because Polymarket is like a gambling site because prediction markets are just sisters to gambling.

It is very good that lightning network is now available on Polymarket which can make bitcoin transaction to be fast.

Can the bitcoin deposited through lightning network be withdrawn on-chain on the prediction site?

I gues the reason they finally integrated lightening network for Bitcoin payments is because of the news that came that was released just two weeks ago that states that polymarket recorded massive numbers of new crypto players because of the 2026 FIFA world cup, and for specifics, it says that 60% of all those world cup new bettors have not used crypto before, I guess polymarket don't want to lose customers because of delays in on chain Bitcoin deposits, that's why they rushed and integrate the lightning network to prevent inconveniences because there are most impatient bettors that can not wait 10 minutes for deposit to confirm.

Now everyone wants quick and easy medium. So such beautiful arrangements will give them additional benefits to liberals. On-chain deposit 10 minutes waiting day is over. Lightning will now deposit in a few seconds.
It is perfect movie for new user+ micro betters. Fees low, like speed lightning.
Just one question: Will the withdrawal support Lightning? Or in deposit, slow out?

It is very good to see that people are now seeing many applications they could engage the use of Bitcoin for their personal benefits, however, things might not come with positive outcome when we are considering poly market in this context, because it may be one of the reason why making we call bitcoin all manner of names and attack the network, everything about poly market is not on a trusted platform and you cannot because of this concluded about bitcoin as well to be on the same intended plan with poly market or any prediction platforms.

It's possible on exchanges, but I've no idea if it's possible on the prediction site.

A fair point on integrating LN. I’m not updated to this feature anymore but IIRC it’s simpler already to use this network now compared before that requires complicated setup.

Also some major exchange like Binance supports that makes it more convenient now to use right after purchasing Bitcoin on exchange and directly deposit to polymarket.

However, I wonder if the majority of bettor still use Bitcoin to place bet instead of stablecoin.

Why would this need to be a thing on Polymarket? Why should a platform implement a wallet-level feature for you, the platform is not supposed to be a wallet. It is a mistake that some platforms already do this, it creates no benefit of any kind for the users -- it is making them only more dumb and more lazy. Withdraw to LN and then close the channel to get the money back if that is what you want. Most people will not be withdrawing anything anyway, they are losing money. 99% of the users in this forum that gamble are just losing money.

It does not require any kind of setup now, you download a wallet and that is it -- like using any network, layer or whatever.

I have used Polymarket but I have not sent bitcoin there before, I will prefer to just keep my bitcoin on my self-hosted wallet, I use fiat backed stable coins on gambling sites. I am just asking the question just to know how it works very well and for people to know about it. You know you can send bitcoin through the lightning network to exchanges and withdrawal on-chain bitcoin. I just want to know if it is possible on Polymarket in case people are discussing about it later.

They would have added the normal Blockchain network too because the percentage of users using lightening network is very few but the large number is using onchain. Well probably because of the fair transaction fee they are using it. Nice one. I have not heard any updates from Polymarket in this world cup prediction but I have seeing threads of another activities of the World Cup. Is it that no winners have been recorded there too?
