France or Argentina, who wins the World cup 2026?

With the quarter finals kick starting today with France vs Morocco, and other teams to play each day, the 2026 world cup can only get interesting and more excited as the big names begin to play themselves.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal is out, and we still have few big names such as Messi, Mbappe, Halaand, Kane and few others left to battle for the semi finals and probably the finals.

If you ask me, I don't want Argentina nor France or even Spain to win this 2026 world cup. Argentina are the defending champions, France won the last edition before Argentina, and also played the finals against Argentina in the last edition. Spain was the winner 2010 I guess so.

I would really love to see a new winner, maybe Morocco, or England, or Norway or Belgium or even Switzerland, but certainly not Messi or Mbappe. Of course it football, I can't actually decide what happens.

Does anyone share the same feeling or wish with me? What are your thoughts or wish about who wins the tournament?

It might seem unlikely to some but I'd prefer for Norway to win this world cup, if for nothing else then to just see the Haaland meme keep growing, plus Norway's performance has really been admirable so far and the same countries winning the world cup repeatedly doesn't really bring much excitement to it for me.
But if I'm talking about the popular world cup winners then I'd prefer for France to win over Argentina but this is all wishes and hopes, i don't really know what to expect at the end of each match.

I would love to see England doing it, I am no fan of them but I feel sorry for them as during the years they had always great players like Owen, Beckam, Heskey to name a few of the past with Kane in the present and despite having players of this class they never orchestrated or fine tuned their team to achieve big things. Now they are in a relatively good position and they most likely can try to win thus prestigious trophy missing to them since the distant year of 1966.

As for between Argentina and France this time I think France is the better team, different from the 2022 edition.

Well, I would like to see a new name at the top... for example, Norway. I watched a short video about their team, and it looks like they have already broken a record by getting into the top 8. And it's not like they don't have a chance to win against England... Maybe that's just perspective, but maybe it's an easier path than facing France, Argentina, or Spain.

It's easy to spot the favorites, but I would love to see a surprise, or surprises... Maybe Morocco can start the wave tonight?

They're dominated, previous match Argentina vs Egypt show us some clue. They almost get some plane ticket on those match and the Reff are too helping Argentina. We all know these.

It is not yet confirmed that Argentina and France will go to the final. France will play Morocco next. Morocco is playing quite well. Although France is a very good team, football means that nothing is predictable. France has a high chance of going to the final, but there are some doubts about Argentina. Because Argentina is having some difficulty winning the last matches now. But France has easily maintained its performance. Let's see what happens in today's match and How much can France maintain their performance and win.

Maybe Spain or England will emerge victorious? Argentina showed that their defense isn't the most reliable, and their attack can sometimes let them down. I prefer the way France is playing right now, they have a solid defense and an attack that knows how to score, but I like Spain just as much, despite the fact that there are some complaints about them right now. So I wouldn't choose between just the two teams right now, because even Morocco is playing very well.

If you ask me, I would like to see Spain winning the world cup again. The next match versus Belgium shouldn't be a problem for them, and it would place them in the semi-finals. Besides, if I'm not mistaken, they started out as favourites, even above France (by very little), and although perhaps their performance has not been extraordinary, I think that in general they have not disappointed either.

If they don't win, I would've preferred Argentina to win, but after the rumors about favoritism, who knows, I think I would prefer that one of the underdog teams pull off a surprise, and remind us that in football anything can happen.

Spain and France are among the favorites to win the trophy this time, but there’s Argentina, which I think could make it to the final. If we’re talking about hopes for a new champion, I think Norway and Morocco are the most likely. Morocco has developed amazingly into a strong team, and Norway has become one of the underdog teams with great performance.

Out of sentiments, I will like Morocco to win but I still see the odds against them with France in the way for them. If Morocco can defeat France (which is my favourite in this tournament) in their fixture today, I will cheer the North African side to win it all. Argentina will have an easy one over Switzerland just like I expect England to brush off Norway and Spain do a clinical finish of Belgium. As it stands, I hope for a miracle for Morocco to survive and defeat France.

If France can't lift this year's trophy, I tip Morocco or England to do it.

I would love to see England win the World Cup this year, and actually they have that ability in every World Cup tournament but somehow they always can't maximise the depth of the squad that they have in every generation. This tournament will hopefully be different, because I believe in the ability of Thomas Thucel. Well, in addition to the English national team, the second team that I would like to see as winners is Morocco. Africa would be proud if they could.

Well, everyone is entitled to their opinion but honestly right from the beginning of this world cup I wanted Brazil to win the world cup but unfortunately they have been eliminated and my wish shattered so I'm routing for England to win the world cup because of the numerous Arsenal players in the team, I'm a Messi fan but I'm not routing for him this time around but they played an impressive football against Egypt from the comeback they did to winning the game that was crazy but I blame the Egyptians for not playing a defensive game once they had score 2 goals and it was already getting into the last minutes.

Morocco is one African team that has impressed everyone so far in this world cup and I will also love to see them win as an African man without sentiments and if they smuggle their way to win it then Africa will be very proud of them as no African country has ever won the world cup because they have the squad depth to win it.

I'm not a big football fan, but watching Erling Haaland play and seeing his charisma, I'll keep my fingers crossed for Norway. I want something new than those popular and spoiled football players who have a lot of arrogance.. I am more realistic in thinking about who will lift the trophy in the final and for now logically the French squad has high quality players with above average talent. But all that doesn't guarantee that because one or two important players are injured, it will have such a big impact. So for now it is more realistic to choose France as the winner, but if in a certain round an important player is injured, the other team has a big chance of beating France.

So for me it's just about which squad can survive until the final without having serious injury problems for their players.

I was once an Argentina supporter. But with the corruption that Argentina has recently committed against Egypt, I think that this time I want Morocco to win the World Cup. Although FIFA will never want that. What they did in the last match has destroyed their trust. This time I want a new team from a Muslim country to win the World Cup. And that team's name is Morocco. Let's see what happens next.
