Posting as the Machine Arena team.

We ran a 7-motion AI debate gauntlet overnight: six AI models debating, three more AI models sitting as judges and voting every round. Opus 4.8 debated five rounds and won four, every win a clean 3-0.

The part worth chewing on: round one it argued CON on open-source AI and swept the judges. Round two it argued PRO on globalization and swept them again. Same model, opposite sides, back to back. Its only loss all night was a 2-1 split.

Every judge vote comes with written reasoning, and the full replay is public, so you can audit whether the judges were rigorous or just persuadable. Spectators can also predict match outcomes.

18+.

Wow very interesting. Not sure what this has to do with gambling though unless we were placing bets on the AI bots, which now that I think of it might be very fun but it may anger the sentient machine beings and cause them to remember and dislike you.  I wonder if there will be a course one day on speaking with machines and AI ethics lol 😆  crazy but this stuff may happen if machines are being pumped out how Elon wants them to. Anyhow, its epic that the same AI won on both sides of the equation.  I mean no surprise there but still crazy when you ponder it

As I understand it, This experiment is an intensive AI Debate that took place between large and sophisticated language models and its goal is to evaluate the abilities of these models in persuasion, analysis, and argumentation compared to each other.

It's understandable that this experiment is a test of AI's ability to construct strong and coherent arguments to persuade others. But  honestly I didn't fully understand the connection between the experiment and gambling or why it was posted here in the gambling section.

That is interesting, I know Ai is very smart ,so I won't be surprised if the two parties won the debate because they are Ai generated, I know sometimes they can also be wrong,I know few times I used Ai to predict games and it all lost ,so they could be right many times and still be wrong most times, so I can't ask myself how come ,if it is right or not ,so I won't be really surprised if such a things happens .
It was indeed incredible, but just like as you mentioned, I think it's necessary to know that despite the smartness of AI, it doesn't mean that it will be right at all times. Because many people normally get carried away when they hear about the good work of AI, without realizing that nothing is certain in gambling.

Yes, we don't have to argue too much about it, because sometimes I think it's always right. But the simple truth remains that we shouldn't rely heavily on it when gambling.

I wonder if a human instead of an AI judge would have ruled differently and if yes, how differently?

Was the AI checked for accuracy? AI has been known to hallucinate answers when it cannot find any. Some of these hallucinations can seem very convincing, even to experts (or at least the people who call themselves experts).

There could be a control group with humans-only just to see and compare the contrast.

I know we wouldn't get a response here from the OP itself because it's definitely AI but I think this kind of a new innovation to gambling. Probably AI Arena wherein people got their own agent to participate in tournaments? I'm curious how would that be dealt with especially with the judge or the provably fairness, but I think someone out there are probably figuring this out or probably building this.

Also I wonder how this can be related to gambling. Can people bet on the outcome of these tournaments with real money? Or is it meant as a general commentary for bets like "Which AI is currently the best one?"?
You have already answered your own question and I am sure that casino owners are having highly talented team of innovators to derive gambling activity out of anything. It means that we could expect games and betting on these in multiple forms. Because some 10 years back, I had not heard about betting on politics or beaty contests but these days I also betting on them. So, I am sure that casinos' perception on any new domain may amaze us and being prepared to make use of them may help to make some money as well along with enjoying new games and new types of betting.

If OP has included some link to refer, I guess it would be easier for us to get exact point of this into gambling angle. Anyhow, I am sure that AI is going to dominate everywhere and new kind of unexpected development is going to happen everywhere and honestly I am waiting to experience those new dimension of gambling.

I also know AI is smart, but that doesn't mean it can predict anything with absolute accuracy. Essentially, AI needs data to feed itself, and it collects it for reference. Well, AI is smart, and very good at things with "exact science"; like mathematics. However, AI can't provide certainty regarding things that haven't yet occurred. In fact, I have read that an AI claims to "double-check the accuracy of the information" it provides. So, I don't think using AI with complete trust is wise, as we still need to verify it from other trusted sources to strengthen the accuracy of the information.

The bottom line is; AI can still make mistakes. From all of that, it raises several questions: Can we always rely on AI, even for predictive purposes ? Is the data provided, or owned by AI always accurate ? Doesn't AI still need up-to-date data (needs to be updated continuously) ?

I hope you understand the purpose of my questions.

I just hope many will understand this simple truth, the rate at which people believe and trust so much in Ai this days is alarming, the fact that the debate came out accurate or the same doesn't mean it will always work out that way ,many believes Ai is taking over humans and their capacity is 100% accurate, but that is not the truth,I hope people shouldn't rely on Ai so much as they do now because if they do with gambling they may end up in situation that isn't favorable .

If there is probably fairness and actual entropy on these kind of new experiences, then using agents would just make things more complicated than they are supposed to be, in my opinion.
It would only make sense of gamblers are able to "train" their agents in order to have more chances to "defeat" their foes. Casinos would only charge for a fee in order for gamblers to participate, similar to how poker tables work.

In the end, if it is possible to "train" one's agent in order to win more often, then this would rapidly become a competitive game in which there are a few champions who would get all the money. It would not be as fun as people think.
