OKX sent me an email today which let me know that Nigerians have started using the exchange again, the email is about me to verify some information about which I did. I sent small amount of money there and withdraw it using the p2p and it was all successful.
When they stop Nigerians from using their exchange, Nigeria was no more part of the countries that you can select when you want to verify, you can now select on Nigeria. Also you can not deposit on the exchange because it will not give you any receiving addresses. Also you can not use P2P on the exchange. All are now possible on OKX.
Yes they're fully back and all services restored; they cited change in local laws as the reason they stopped their services to Nigeria I'm wondering what changed now. Old users will go through a mandatory reverifcation - they deleted our KYC database that's good to know. Binance next??? Oh this is some great news, I’m just getting to hear of this and I’ve been neglecting my mails for a while now, I don’t always check unless I have to. Bad habit I guess I’ll have to improve on it. I just confirmed I received a mail since the 10th of July. I would love to get back to Using OKX they were quite easy and nice for me in my early days. The mail is requesting for an identity verification to unlock full access. Binance should do and free us too, Nigeria is a big market place.

As long as you register with any exchange in Nigeria that asks for kyc, nin and even house address just be rest assured that your privacy is not safe.
That's why people patronize private exchanges that are decentralized because your privacy is secured and there is no tracking. Although one has to be careful while dealing with any exchange.
This is one reason I'm not too excited about OKX returning to Nigeria and asking even old users to undergo compulsory KYC. We already have good alternatives like Bybit and Bitget so even if Kucoin, Binance and OKX refused to allow Nigerians use their exchange freely, we will not miss them. I will not be reactivating my account there, there is absolutely no need for that. I'm even trying to reduce the number of platform I perfect KYC in for safety reasons.

What was asked was basic verification. You personal document information that you submitted before is still with them. Even you bank account and others that you used for P2P (provided if you used P2P) and other information about you that you submitted on the exchange in the past are still with them and not yet deleted.

This might be good news as OKX is one of the reputable exchanges in the world and being back in the Nigerian market space isn’t just good for us but for them too cos Nigeria is one of the biggest if not the biggest in Africa as regards cryptocurrency and strong adoption.

I believe say na so all of these exchange they collect their own share of profit from other countries wey dey crypto friendly, so wetin I dy try talk is that if them like make them like an or make them no like am, competition na part of business, and them need to get used to am as long as them continue doing business. One good thing about competition is that E go force improvement from your rival, and the customers go be the biggest benefactor as oyibo man call am, so na welcome development be this.

The last time i used anything relating to them was their OKX wallet which was available in Nigeria, during Tap-to-earn era in 2024. I've never tested their normal Exchange, before they banned us completely. They thought we will feel the effect if they restricts us, not knowing that we Nigerian can adapt to any situations. I currently use both Binance and Gate.io (for p2p) which are far better, and trusted than OKX. These foreign platforms usually underestimate the Nigerian market alot. This is just the same thing that happened with PayPal too, where they banned us for years. Now they are coming back begging us to use their app to transact when we already have multiple fintech platforms.

I received a mail from OKX asking me to verify my account, initially I thought it was a scam message, so I paid no attention to it, the next day I started seeing updates about them being back to Nigeria, it was ten it dawned on me that the mail I received the previous day was legit. I remember me experience with OKX with them being the first exchange I used for crypto transactions when I started this crypto journey just few years ago, it was seamless and user friendly that it was my only preferred exchange. I mined Core, OKX was used to receive it, even the first tap tap on telegram, OKX was used to receive my Notcoin. When the news of them leaving came up due to the crypto restrictions melted on the country by the Buhari government, it was a devastating one but we moved on and some of us joined WhatsApp P2P groups. That's a whole different story and experience on its own. I'm glad they are fully back again.

I think all the exchanges in Nigeria ask for all this you mentioned, do you know any of them that does not? Do we now see why most person do not trust our government, when I was reading through some text in this thread I came across someone that said a clear conscience fear s no accusations according to him or her but that is funny because such persons may not understand the reasons why OGs in this space do not like the idea of KYC, although I will not rule out the fact that some persons do that because of their hidden agenda but their genuine people that understands what our government are capable of doing at anytime, which is the reason why such persons will do any to avoid future drama.

Should we put our hopes on Binance coming back to Nigeria. I would have been happy if it was Binance and not OKX because I don't have an account with OKX and I haven't used their exchange for p2p trade. However, for those OKX lovers it's good news. I don't like their service, because they're good exchanges out there better than them.

Since those annoying P2P people on Bybit are unable to do their extortion, they are moving to OKX. I hope OKX will noticed this soon and stop it. One thing about these fraudulent p2p vendor is that they are very good at testing the waters, to see if they can be successful in their malicious activity in any new openings, but if okx can be proactive on in watching their activities, they can easily be stopped I do not know the reason why people are saying Binance should be available for Nigerians. Binance is still available for Nigerians, only its naira P2P that is not available.
As far as am concern, binance is only useful when their is p2p services in it, and I believe that this is how most Nigerian crypto investors feel about it. It's true that you can use it for other things, but what's the essence of doing all your transactions there, but when you want to withdraw your money, you will have to do an on chain transaction to another exchange before you can convert your money into naira? Aside that they are good, but that's the main reason most people don't make use of binance for now.

Well it's a good news from OKX team. Actually I was never using OKX before rather binance and kucoin, I will be glad if they add NGN p2p to binance and kucoin because those are the two most reliable exchange I was using before they delisted NGN p2p from it. But I believe now they have started from okx, it will surely reach all other exchanges that was Left behind.

I won't even lie; I miss Okx because of their uniqueness and the fact that many Nigerians were using their service. At this point, I will try it out myself before concluding. I have used it for P2P, but I'm not sure if it's restored because for exchanges like Binance, it's not restored. However, it's actually good news that Okx is back, and there was no transparency from the government why they wanted them out of Nigeria. And I just hope it's not what am thinking because the government might want to tax there users because for them to come back I know there will be for of agreement.

Well I tried using the OKX P2P for trading today. Although I experienced some bit of a delay before the merchant responded, but everything went well and smoothly without delays. Although it was my first time but I wasn’t really impressed with the quality of their P2P services because I’d rather prefer the previous ones I’ve used to it. Well maybe I’m just used to using those platforms’ P2P.

Since this OKX exchange was banned for Nigerian users for a long time, but recently we can see that it has reopened for users again. However, we must be a little careful before using it because many accounts will not login after not using it for a long time, and if some money is deposited there after logging in, it may be blocked, so we have to see if everything is okay. Since at the moment, Nigeria is being selected as the country again during verification for use in Nigeria. Receiving addresses are available for depositing crypto on the exchange and P2P trading is also being used normally again. All OKX users who are there will definitely benefit a lot from using it. However, I think it is safest to verify that everything is working properly through a small transaction before making a large transaction, so every Nigerian OKX user should pay close attention to this matter.

Good to know that OKX is back. I wonder if they have the tax fee now just like kucoin or bybit has. I look forward to seeing a time when Binance will resume back in Nigeria. It used to be one of the best back then and they were the first to take the fall for it. I also wonder how Bybit was able to continue during the periods when these exchanges were shutting down and leaving Nigeria.
That's good to know. perhaps this is just a clear sign that many of them that took off from Nigeria due to one reason or the other are started seeing reasons of coming back. Maybe this is just the genesis of it, who knows if Binance will be the next on the list that we be coming to Nigeria, however having them back wouldn't be a bad idea anyway.

Since Bybit implemented the Block trade advertizer category I don't think there has been any complaints of anyone getting scammed or begged since it's an automated trade and works within a seconds. I haven't checked other P2P marketplace but this is first of its kind and Bybit might just be ahead of everyone else at the moment. Alot of people still need to understand how those Bybit badges works and what they stands for. OKX was my favorite P2p after Binance disabled Naira; really liked the black UI but I don't see myself going back to them now after the betrayer.

As long as you register with any exchange in Nigeria that asks for kyc, nin and even house address just be rest assured that your privacy is not safe.
That's why people patronize private exchanges that are decentralized because your privacy is secured and there is no tracking. Although one has to be careful while dealing with any exchange.
Every real Bitcoin lover would prefer anonymity over KYC, Bitcoin was built to remove third-party but KYC bring back third through exchanges, that's why OG's doesn't buy the idea and go for decentralized exchanges that won't require them to expose their details online. Taking about having a clear conscience, it doesn't also mean that anyone against KYC has an ulterior motive for it. Some people just like to leave a private life and had to adopt Bitcoin cause it supports their ideology of privacy, if am using a monetary system that support decentralization and privacy, why won't I go for exchanges with same ideology, that's just it.
