Laws of every government in a democracy treats everyone equally but in reality the power always holds the advantage over the common citizen. If you are in that stuation, you can't really do much other than waiting for your next election and vote for the right person.
The law in government is never wrong to always put the people first in order to prosper with a fair leader and continue to serve, but the reality is not so, a lot of power becomes a tool for leaders to do arbitrarily, you may already know some countries do this with the current government, the main thing is you don't have power then you can't fight the government even though it demands to be fair.

Ultimately those who create a nation's money supply create a governmental composition of their liking in order to protect their advantage.  There are many twists and turns, many proxy actors, and much propaganda, but at the end of the day, one can almost always get what they want if they have an unlimited amount of money, have some brains, and are not in to big a hurry.

Most challenging countries hardly identify their rights because of misplacement of priorities between the leaders and the people. Most African nations feels the leaders control their rights of the citizens and privacy that's why the citizens actions and protest are not highly recognized on the events of urgency. Do you think the leaders has right over the lives of the common citizens or the citizens determined the controls checks and balance of the leaders?

Nobody will go against what we have said or we don't care about their rascality that's the statement of most Africans leaders. They can only protest and it doesn't move our decision, our purpose is to grow the falling economy. Leaders with such mindset has nothing to offer citizens than authoritative ruling or autocrat.. if we are under such nations as citizens what do we do to be heard?

The government is supposed to be made by the people, but in many places, that idea has been turned upside down. The leaders start to see themselves as the owners of the country instead of servants of the people. Power belongs to the citizens. Leaders are just temporary occupants of their positions. If the people stay silent, they lose their voice forever. The only way to be heard is to speak up collectively, through peaceful protests, active participation in elections and holding leaders accountable. Change doesn't come by staying quiet. It comes when the people realize that the government works for them, not the other way around.

That's right, but in some countries, their citizens are tired of complaining as its really frustrating and they are tired of complaining, as they don't longer protest on the matter of the government, they became quiet ever since their voices are not being heard, so they decide to keep quiet as they have seen there is no hope to change. But, change can eventually occur if the leaders realized their mistakes and are ready to amend their ways.

One mistake we often make is assuming that government alone can determine how a country turns out. Even though the have enormous influence but the citizens also shape the quality of governance through their actions or inaction. When people stop paying attention to public affairs, refuse to hold the leaders accountable, it becomes easier for poor leadership to continue.

I believe sustainable progress not happens when both sides play their part. A government without accountability can become abusive while citizens who completely disengage create opportunities for poor leadership to continue unchecked. The relationship should not be about who has more power but ensuring that power is being exercise responsibly and can be questioned when necessary.

This days, government controlled the citizens because they're the ones in power, they know nothing about ethics and are just in this position to peculate public funds for their won selfish desires. They have no remorse for their actions and instead, they just want to do more and acquire more power. I think this is the time for citizens to wake up because they've been sleeping for so long and time for their voices to be heard out loud because if they don't do this, the government will always take them for granted. This doesn't only happen in Africa where the system is so corrupt but it also applies to the European countries too. I will say it's everywhere.

I see citizens heavily engaged in worshipping political leaders. People are attentive to public affairs, but only to the gossips and narratives launched by the politicians and their lackeys. There is a lot of action going on and citizens are actively following these political matters, but leadership just gets worse and worse.

And it's not about picking one side or another, because after all, both are the same and use the same manipulative techniques to control the masses. It's a society of ignorant people who have no clue about politics, but at same time are constantly talking about it as if their politician idol had the solution for every problems in the country (while the opposite politician is the devil incarnated).

This is more relatable to African countries,  where their leaders fail to realize that they are there to serve the people. The leaders in most African countries really don't care about the people, so they do whatever they like and really don't care how their decisions or policies affects the people. The people on the other hand also forget that powers is in their hands and that they also have the right to protest against the wrong doing of the government. Although most elections I'm African are rigged, but that's does not still take the power away from the people. I think the people have to realize that they have the power to choose who to rule them, and once that is realized they will be able to out the right person in power and the person will be able to lead them right.

Bad leadership is a global issue, let us don't limit bad leadership to just Africa... No need to mention name of affected nations around the world, but with a bit of research you will know for sure that their are various regions in the world that has had those leader who failed their people in a whole lot of ways imaginable... The constitution tells us that we have power to vote and be voted for, but then I actually think that as far as electoral malpractice is still in the equation, then the citizens are and will continue to remain powerless... So the current reality is that the citizens don't have the power to chose who rules them and which dosen't.. Nevertheless even in this state of powerlessness, the masses still have the a crucial role to play, they should still come out to vote, and when they do they should be able to stand their ground on their preferred candidate..They shouldn't be an easy target for bribery and selling of votes...With togetherness and then standing for what is right, the masses can bring betterment to the global economy...

The government has grown thick-skinned to listen to the complaints of the people. Their interviews are scripted, reading from paper instead of speaking from their heart. The government has understood that protests are for awareness, not for positive correction. Many times in society, peaceful protests were carried out. It is annoying to see nothing done for those who complain. Seated in the government house with battalions of security men protecting them, do you think they are concerned for the people?
It is very disappointing to see that today's leaders are hiding behind scripted speeches they don’t even mean, while they turn a blind eye to these people's protests, not even bothering to engage with them, whereas the protests are important for exposing the failure of governance. There is a dangerous amount of disconnect between the people and the governance; they are prioritising risk management over actual representation.

In the past, we have seen that leaders try to avoid the noise that is rising against their governance, but with time they cannot ignore the threats that are there for their political survival. They started listening to these voices when they thought that their leadership and governance were directly under threat.

You are saying the right thing, most leaders don't know that the purpose why they become leaders is to serve the people and meet the needs of the people by providing vital things for them, which they can make use of it to help themselves in anyway they can, but the leaders are there for their selfish interests, as they shift their duty into doing what they are not assigned to do. That's why people should not be bribed when voting new leaders, so that they won't put in the wrong person and later suffer for it.

In African countries today,  there leaders are not there to serve but to command,  control and steal all meant for developmental and revamping projects in there countries.
Imagine the high level of mineral resources in Africa today yet Africa appears to be the poorest continent all over the world all because the reasons for leadership in Africa is far from that of other continents.  All leaders elected into offices today in Africa are only there for what they stand to gain for themselves and there families which is why the level of poverty in Africa still increases beyond reasonable doubts.

Democracy is the government of the people and by the people, this point to the role of citizens to Nations development and of you see a country that have high rate of underdevelopment, it can be traced to the citizens lack of patriotism to the Nation.

So I accept the fact that only government can not do everything for the development of the country, citizens also have responsibility to work toward the greater goals of the country they leave in.

So I accept the fact that only government can not do everything for the development of the country, citizens also have responsibility to work toward the greater goals of the country they leave in.
That's right, there are some ways one can help the government to make the society a better place because government alone can't do the work by itself. Though they may be in that position for their own selfish interests but at least, there are some ways they are show concern and this also helps the society to be a better place. So, it's the duty of everyone to help their country to develop in the way they can, whether by establishing businesses to employ others or encourage people to avoid corruption or support in learning skills, so that they can use those skills to help themselves in the future.

There’s a lot of truth in your concern about the issue of corruption and selfish political leadership, but one thing we need also to understand is that Africa consists of different countries with different ways of life. Bad government can undeniably slowed down the the development of many countries but we can’t pretend like it’s completely their fault, because lasting success also depends on active citizen participation among other things, which means that the citizens also have a role to play, but oftentimes, citizens abandon their own roles and solely depend on the government for everything.

In Africa autocratic system of ruling is common and is as if no one wants to do anything about it and the opinion of the people is not heard sometimes protesters are even penalized for protesting

I think bad leadership is not only in africa's it is a global sickness, let us not react over a certain country here, actually election malpractice is still in equation of people that make the law people other hands also forget every nation have weak leadership issues at different dimensions election might not always be the issue citizen's that focus over reacting to vote yes it is very hand to point an accusing finger on our leadership because no matter what we talk they will keep on enriching their packet in name of ruling.

Laws of every government in a democracy treats everyone equally but in reality the power always holds the advantage over the common citizen. If you are in that stuation, you can't really do much other than waiting for your next election and vote for the right person.
Right, voting for the right one is good but now, it seems one vote is no longer counted, as there are some persons that will conclude on who they want to lead and they are ready to do anything for the election to get rigged. So, its not matter of one voting for the right one but the problem is how to make the law right, as the law and the governments are corrupted and because of all these, people are no longer interested to vote again because its so exhausting as their efforts never counts.
In a country with no free and fair election, the community can't choose who their leader would be. The leadership in those regions is chosen by those who hold the power to tamper with the results of elections. Announcements are made by the press following the decisions that were made in the inner chamber when everyone else is sleeping.

The definition of democracy makes people believe they can choose who they want to lead them. Without them knowing, democracy is a way to connive power as a particular cult called political power shares the power among them.

Both me and you constitute what makes the government, the people are the government and choose to put some certain set of people as well to represent them in political positions, because people cannot stay together without having a leader and that is why we all voted our politicians into office to work for us, but today things are not found to be the same way it was expected, because political power has been used against the conscience and rights of the people, everything is being done under a circle of those that are within the power and implement what comes in favor for them or instead of the people that put them in place to represent them.

What you’ve said here is absolutely correct. But no matter how the governs try to make people believe they hold all the power, the truth still remains that power will always be shared amongst the governs and the governed, which means that even the masses also have a say, but those in office try to use their money and influence to silence the voice of the masses and make them believe they are in some kind of autocratic system of government where only they have all the political power to make decisions without the masses having a say. But if this is so, why would they spend billions on elections just to make sure that this same people vote for them?? This only tells us one thing, and that is the fact that there’s still some power that the masses have and that their votes still plays a vital role.
