Both players are good but if we really want to make can comparison about who has achieved more than the other then it is obvious that Messi has more achievements than Ronaldo but I think the constant comparison especially from fans of both players is unnecessary because they are different players and you cannot expect them to have the same achievements, based on Messi's record he is the best and Ronaldo also has a good record as well, to some people they consider him to be the greatest of all time, the bottom line is that they are both good players.

I like both Ronaldo and Messi a lot and I think both are the greatest footballers of all time but if I had to vote for just one then I would support Messi. I share in your opinion Mate. Just like you, I’m not biased in my judgement, and I don’t  let sentiment cloud my judgement. Love the performance and the thrill that both players offer, and even though there are several other exceptional players, both Ronaldo and Messi stands out in an incredible way, but judging from the stats above and their performances so far in the current WC, I don’t see think it should be an argument that Messi is better. This is something I do not even debate with people because the answer is clear for anybody who has watched these two guys play for at least 10 years. It's okay to like Ronaldo more than Messi for various reasons, but when it comes to who is the better footballer, there is no debate. Messi has always been the better footballer.
At an early age, Messi was better. In their peak, Messi was better. In their old age, Messi is still better. There has been no time or era in which Ronaldo has been a better player than Messi. There may be eras where he achieved more than Messi, like the 2016-2018 era, but that doesn't mean he was the better football player.

And I'm not even talking about what they have both achieved. I'm not talking about the World Cups, UCL, Balon d'Or, Golden Boots, or goals they've scored.
I'm talking purely based on what they play on the field. When you look at their performances on the field, you would see that Messi is miles ahead of every other player.
If you compare Messi with the best attacking wingers, he is better than all of them. If you compare him with all wingers, he is better than all of them. If you compare him with all strikers, he is better than all of them.
So even without their achievement which Messi has more, if you look at the football they play, Messi is still clearly better.
It shouldn't be a debate.

I don’t like these comparisons between these two. In my estimation, the stats are not objective and they depend on many factors. If the sports these players are involved in were individual sports and not a team sports that their performance is dependent on their teammates, then I would say they are objective metrics.
We have so many greatest of all times that is in their own league… some of them didn’t make the World Cup because their country didn’t qualify. To sum it all up the greatest of all times is not limited to just Messi and Ronald.

Since childhood I have always known Messi and Ronaldo to be an amazing player and I really fans both of them that I can not decide who is the best among the other because they are both awesome with their football skills that I will not want to compare nor choose one but I will always choose both if I am asked to because they are genius, I got to know football through them and some other old and retired footballers and I am still surprised that they are both still playing till date, I do not know but I think they need to take a break from football now, they have really done an amazing job while on the field and will forever be remembered and their impact will keep inspiring many.

This debate should be over by now, I don’t want to be sentimental about with my opinion, they are all great players, while growing up pele was always considered as the greatest of all time even though I was not born by then so I never get to watch when he played and all the great things he did to earn that rank. Both of these players have had incredible careers, and there's no denying that. Everyone has their own perspective, of course. But for some reason, I've always preferred Ronaldo. To me, he's one of the most disciplined players in every aspect of the game, and he's definitely not FIFA's golden boy.

Lol you obviously didn’t have to literally abuse them . Everyone is actually entitled to their own opinions, it’s their right.

I’ve come to understand that the reason why some people would even make this an argument isn’t actually because they are ignorant of the truth, lack of experience about football or because they’re mad, but due to sentiments, they do it as an obvious and intentional attempt to ridicule a miracle when they see one. I don’t even see the reason and need why you guys keep on debating who is greater than who when we all know both of them are good in different ways. I can see social media on fire since Argentina qualifies for the final. Messi is going for World Cup finals while CR7 is not. Fans are holding hands to make their argument and judgment on who is greater, which I don’t see as necessary.  on this poll CR7 also appears to be people's favorite, and this debate will not end until they retire from football.

We should all agree that both of them are good at what they do. They have both made names for themselves and deserve to be celebrated for their individual achievements in football during their time. Before them, we had great players like Pele, Ronaldinho, Maradona, etc. People appreciated their skills without engaging in the unhealthy comparisons we now see in the case of Messi and Ronaldo.

If the question is "Who is the Greatest of all time", it is very difficult to explain and my most honest answer, there is no definite answer because it all depends on who each individual supports.
GOAT according to Messi supporters, the most complete, can dribble, pass, vision, and is a champion at the highest level. .
