I think the question should be, are some people meant to gamble?, and not 'if gambling is meant for everyone?'.
Who the hell goes about asking for a refund?. The truth is, majority of those who gamble do it for the money and not entertainment. There's nothing wrong with wanting to stake money for a possible reward or win, but some people's approach to certain things are just too immature, making it look like they're being desperate. Gambling does not offer a 100% win guarantee... Even a 50% win is not certain because luck plays a big role. Those who can't control themselves should learn how to stay away from things that they clearly can't influence.

It's not for everyone, but anyone can gamble if they want to, no matter what your standing in life is, but not everyone can handle gambling. Just like in the story you posted, your friend gambled because he wanted to, but in the end he couldn't handle the reality of gambling(losing).

Gambling is not something that everybody can do, most times it takes discipline and proper risk management to become a profitable gambler and not everybody can uphold these values for long term. In one way or the other, we could have practiced gambling, maybe with business or investment but this should not be something that everybody is doing because there is no benefit at last. There are people that have no interest with gambling and there are also people who take gambling as survival, it can never be a thing for everybody.

You answered to your own question. Why it would be for everyone? It's literally forbidden from children because their brains aren't developed enough to be responsible enough.

Let's follow that logic. Many adults struggle with responsibility while some, even if they were responsible in other ways they might easily addicted and end up doing bad choices because of that.
It's not about winning or losing, those things are irrelevant, but not willing to lose is definitely a red flag.

Absolutely not, and it has nothing to do with addicted people as some here are writing about -- complete nonsense. Most dangerous activities are not suitable for different groups of people, they simply respond to them in very horrible ways and are never unable to approach them in a healthy or managed way. It could be gambling, it could be drugs, it could even be alcohol. This is why the online bullshit about living in the moment and experiencing whatever other NPCs on the internet are experiencing is just brain-rot content. There are groups of people that should never even try out slots even for one session, that is how badly they respond to it.

Overall, I have never recommended anyone to gamble under any circumstance. Why should I? If someone is asking me for a recommendation for entertainment or things like that, there is a very long list of healthy and better activities that I can suggest to them. I highly agree that gambling is not for everyone even gambling can be easily accessed. For me, gambling is for people who have self-control, becasue I believe people who have no discipline should not inovle themselves to gambling to minimize ruin life and broken families or relationships.

In a scenario where a person give consent to another person like agreeing with the gambler to bet on whatever the gambler chooses, does not have the right to get angry with the person unless there is hidden lies and deception. If all was explained clearly and the person agrees to fund the bet of the gambler, getting angry becaue the bet losses makes the person too petty.

The important part is self-control and knowing how much you are gambling with. If you play with a deposit that's extra money, it's completely fine to gamble. The problem starts when you deposit way too much and then try to win it back, leading to the gambling cycle and depression.

Yeah. Losing what you can 'afford' to lose starts with depositing what you can afford to lose. I know some guys who deposit big even more than they intend to lose but they tell themselves that they have a better chance of winning with a bigger deposit. For example, they will deposit $1000 even though they intend not to lose more than $200. Because they believe that they will stop once the balance reaches $800 or lower but eventually end up losing the entire 1k.

Not everyone is disicplined enough to be gambling that's the reason why they end up getting addicted to the game. Agreed, responsible gambling is gambling with money that we can afford to lose, but if I have no source of income, what will I lose? I have no money to lose, so if I have no source of income, gambling is never for me. Gambling is a cycle where most people start out hoping to make a profit, but end up getting more involved in trying to recoup their losses and end up losing much more than they can afford. That is why we need to think realistically, at least in the case of gambling, if we think that I don't have money, so if I gamble it will make me much richer overnight, then this kind of mentality is going to lead to even greater destruction very soon.

From what you wrote, I understand that one has to start gambling and get addicted before he or she knows should not be gambling, and since you are already addicted it is already too late to easily stop.
So there have to be ways that you should recognise that gambling is not for you before starting..
-If you get addicted to dopamine based activities easily, then your not someone that should be involved in gambling.
-if you are a very emotional person than gambling is not meant for you
-if you carried away (loosing focus) by such activities then it is not meant for you.

He won big because he work on himself, if he didn't work on him self he might as well be there for years and win nothing. There is nothing that guarantee winning with gambling, you can try gambling and win and try again and not win but if you try again you may win, that's how it work because nothing is guaranteed. There are some people that will try and will not even win anything in their first trial and remain that way until forever without a win.

Some people are in conditions and finances that are not suitable for gambling I believe that, only some people are suitable for gambling, that is, those who can afford to lose, know the limits and know what gambling really is.

People who know the most about finance don't risk much gambling. In fact, they come and go without even playing because their money hurts too much.
