It just goes to show the trash that Polymarket will allow you to bet on and the bets that people are taking. However judging by all the scan influencer advertising they did recently, it's hard to know if any bet on polymarket is actually genuine or whether it's actually just a marketing gimmick. That being said, some people look for a bet in everything in life and will place money on it. The fact that it's low volume indicates that there are only a few people looking at these weird and obscure type bets, that would actually be hard to price. It seems like the 50% chance of a hat trick is rather high when you consider these two teams are at the pinnacle of competition and unlikely to let a single player get close.

I have come across this market before, but not in sports. I came across the market for basketball.

In football, I prefer to use a local sportsbook or casino with a sportsbook because I bet on 2-to-4 odds, or even less, depending on the amount I'm willing to stake.

I wouldn't bet on this because no one knows how many times a word will be said by the referee. I prefer to bet on how many yellow cards and which players will find the back of the net.

I love betting on what my instinct tells me. In fact, this is the first time I have seen this kind of bet option. I believe Polymarket bets on anything but I don't do that.

To tell the truth, the classic options were too short and I appreciate that there is a wide variety of alternatives to bet on, beyond who will win the match, if it will end in a draw, etc. But here we have a saying: "A little pleases and a lot angers". Making it possible to bet on virtually anything personally overwhelms me, and I think it will eventually do so for the general public as well. In my opinion, a reasonable offer of betting options is much better. Too many options creates too much mental stress.

And there are two options here: either I'm right, or I'm wrong.

If I'm wrong, that means I'll be betting exclusively against other players. And the key here is how smart are my competitors... Will I be able to outplay them? Are you just recently learning about such event in the prediction market?
We recently had a discussion about Trump teleprompter operator made $100K betting on Kalshi markets. There the report was given how Trumps Teleprompter operator betted about Trump's speech in the prediction market. This is just a glance that betting on officials speech in a global convention or activities including sports isn't new.
The prediction market had really broader options for betting and in sports bets, we don't only have betting options about how the game will end but also other events like players injury, commentators speeches, disciplinary sanction cards etc.
However, these are very strong betting options that majority of bettors may ignore because it's much difficult to analyse than the games outcomes

This is just another method to fail bettors, who knows if the commentary knew about this market or a kind of conspiracy. It's high time we start playing smart, left with me alone I don't even have the time to look for new markets. Because those markets they are introducing lately seems difficult than Those regular ones, though some gamblers would say it is much more easier than those regular ones but for me, I find those regular one's easier than this current ones. I am skeptical about such bets. It all depends on one person (the commentator). Based on what someone unknown created this market by choosing certain words, it is unclear, as well as its relationship with the commentator.

Well, there is no point in betting 80% (odds 1.25) or 50% (odds 2), unless it is some kind of large sum. And if it's $20, it's easier to bet on red/black or even/odd in roulette. It is better to choose only markets that do not depend on one person in any way. For example, parliamentary elections or geopolitical events.

I watched a video on this where someone was betting on a word Donald trump will say. But I think there's a way they can someone make it be in their favour. Seems everything now is becoming a bet. Somehow they want to feed greed of individuals and addiction of them.

The odds for the word VAR are strange, I think the probability of it being used is close to 100%. Even after skimming the terms, I couldn't figure out what the catch was. Overall, it's a fun market, but given that even traditional bookmakers have a very wide line for such a major event, I don't see the point in wasting time exploring exotic options. But maybe this would make sense since such markets are inefficient, and you can look for profitable bets there (as in my opinion with the word VAR).

Wow, there is so much potential for manipulation these days... The easiest thing to do is to agree with the commentator he has to say determined word a number of times, or to avoid telling others along the match, so he can get a slice of the profits after all.

And even aware about it, are there gamblers who still gamble on this kind of bet? It's insane how people are giving up on their perception of reality just thinking about potential profits which can't be reached the more they try.

If I had a million dollars, I still wouldn't bet even $0.10 on something like that. First, it's not interesting. Second, it has a huge risk of being manipulated. I'm pretty sure I've seen plenty of people complain about betting on prediction markets like polymarket and losing because of alleged insider manipulation. Just imagine if a commentator knew something in advance, they could easily influence the outcome for their own benefit.

That is what I am thinking. If there are some close people to these commentators and asks them to be part of what they're about to do.

I guess that they won't be hard to give a yes if there's a big money involved in it. They only have to make it like they're having a conversation.

And the prediction markets have been found to have these ways of manipulating the bets in favor of whoever has seen the possibility of it.

This kind of prediction is highly risky to bet on, though every gambler has his own risk tolerance, and will prefer going for other options instead of going for such prediction.
When you look at the sports betting options, there are many of the options to play, and gamblers don't even go for some because they feel gambling on such option is too risky for them, and will therefore want to minimize risk of loosing their bet.
I wouldn't say it is wrong to bet on the comments of the commentator, but as for me, it is a high level of risk for me, and can't take it.

I can't imagine betting on those types of options, it's way out of bound to me it's like gambling on slot games. This is very ridiculous. This kind of market can be manipulated easily. Have you imagined a situation where the commentator, knowing what is at stake, chooses to bet on himself using an anonymous account or an account not linked to him? Then, during the match, he limits how often he uses certain words just so he can win. He may even unintentionally be cautious of how he uses certain words if he is aware of the bet. Polymarket will do anything to draw attention during this period. Of course, they are making their money from all of this.

I will not bet on this. I prefer real sports betting to focusing on what the commentators say.

Most of the listed words are controversial word's that only some certain incidents during the match can trigger the commentator to mention them during the match.

The market have low liquidity because most bettors will rather go for team to win or lose as bet pattern instead of trying out a new market styles from poly market.

If these commentators know that his words will be the subject of betting the gamblers will be very crazy, they may manipulate the victory on purpose, they can use other hands to bet and the results will be shared after a few weeks of withdrawal made, the odds that will lose if like that, honestly I don't know what their motivation is to make one of the alternative bets in this World Cup by taking such a risky thing.
