Many compare altcoins with gambling, but dont you think that any investment is gambling? Until sold, everything is gambling and risky.
In my opinion, investment and gambling are not the same, therefore any investment can't be gambling.  Gambling is gambling and investment is investment,.they simply don't fit in together, they can't mean the same thing unless you are referring to altcoins investment as gambling. If that's what you mean then that's your opinion as everyone opinions can't be the same. Yes, investment can turn gambling depending on the assets you're investing into and the fund you are using to invest too.
In bitcoin investment, your investments can turn gambling when you stop investing using your discretionary income. Because if you used money that is meant for your basic needs to buy bitcoin,it will be a matter of time when you will fall back to sell your bitcoin investment to cover those basic needs. Which is why folks are advised to invest using their discretionary income when their investing in bitcoin otherwise they are gambling.

No, investing is not gambling. Let's break down the differences between the two.
Gambling = you are up against the dealer and the dealer makes the rules.
Investing = is a battle against time and emotions; if you can stay the course over the long term spanning one or two market cycles, the results will be commensurate with that duration. In other words, in investing, it is time that pays you.
If the rules of the game are flawed, investing can easily turn into gambling; if you choose the wrong assets and mishandle your investments, the risks are immense.

I do not wish to compare Bitcoin with altcoins, as the differences between them are vast, if you are looking for the best investment, choose Bitcoin, history has proven its worth. Its supply is limited, which is why nations and major corporations are beginning to adopt it, given its incredibly strong fundamentals.
Before purchasing an asset, ask yourself:
1. If the asset you buy drops by 40%, can you still remain calm? If not, it’s gambling.
2. Am I using money that I can afford to risk? If not, it’s gambling.

It is highly unethical to label investing as gambling, because if you purchase the right asset (Bitcoin), hold it for the long term (4–8 years), and employ the right strategy (DCA), then it is an investment.

I like this statement of accepting the risks before buying Bitcoin. The only thing some beginners or newbies tends to understand is, to be successful in bitcoin investment journey it has to do with more consistency rather than looking for perfect price entry. Alots of folks today have spent much of their time waiting for the perfect time, they ended up having nothing while the smartest one's have been accumulating bitcoin and holding it quietly over a period of time. Patience should be the most key. Also one should know when and how to make decisions, especially when theres market increases, that excitement has made alots of folks into buying and selling due to the market drops. It's better to have a specific plan by sticking to it in orders yield a an effective result, than running to every market movement. In facts, maintaining your steady plan makes you ahead of those folks chasing the bitcoin price movement.
That’s what most beginners failed to understand; they have the believe that their time to invest in bitcoin will come because they have that idea and believe that an opportunity will come for them to invest which means they are waiting for the price to dip, meanwhile the opportunity might come to them at the wrong time when they might not have access to buying at that moment, that smartness of waiting for opportunity is another waste of opportunity because the market cannot be predicted and opportunity is here now to invest.

As a beginner, instead of waiting for an opportunity is not the right thing to do, the best thing is to act fast by investing with the little amount you want because this is also an opportunity to invest.

I do understand that altcoins are more risky than Bitcoin, but I believe it will take a lot more time to get 200% with Bitcoin than with top altcoin.
You sound almost retarded.  You are going to choose some random shitcoin that you consider to be "in the top range" and then hope and pray that it performs better than bitcoin based on some pump expectations?

You have been registered on the forum since January 2018, and so presumptively you have been fucking around with shitcoins and trading since January 2018.
When I read what he said, I was surprised to see that some guys can actually go to any length of taking more risk in something they already know that is very risky, going by what he said, it is not like he is not informed about the risk in those shitty shitty, rather he is just concerned about the time it will take him or her to get the percentage he mentioned if it has to be Bitcoin, but as someone who said he knows the risk involved, the same risk do not matter to him, so it is the profit I guess, whether he loses all he invested in the shits, it will not matter to him, and what do we call that.
So people can be so mean to the extent that they do not care about what could happen to their hard earned money, although the decision is his, however, I'm still in shock because some statements can be unbelievable, BTW, who has pump and dump shit help.

As a beginner, instead of waiting for an opportunity is not the right thing to do, the best thing is to act fast by investing with the little amount you want because this is also an opportunity to invest.

Novice investors even try to read the analytics and believe the words of those who are "reputable traders," but as a rule, these newcomers are then surprised that the price of bitcoin has gone in the wrong direction. But the fact is that everything can be much simpler and more effective: non-experienced investors only need to study DCA, and literally from the first understanding of the principles they will realize that it is enough to understand only a few principles for successful investment. Namely, they need to understand how to calculate their discretionary income, how to invest patiently for many years and follow the discipline of investing. All this will add up to one investment picture, understandable and predictable even for absolute beginners.

Before you make loud announcement that I understand or dont understand something, why dont you make first read topic name and what was asked? It is a shame that you ignore all the pages and original post, take something out from context and post your reply.

Long story short - do you really think that investing in small can give good profit? What is more real to get 200% profit (that OP wants to get), with Bitcoin or with altcoin? I do understand that altcoins are more risky than Bitcoin, but I believe it will take a lot more time to get 200% with Bitcoin than with top altcoin.

Many compare altcoins with gambling, but dont you think that any investment is gambling? Until sold, everything is gambling and risky.

We spend a lot of money on things we don't really need. If everyone optimized even a small part of their impulse spending and invested that money into bitcoin on a regular basis, then four years later they would likely see a nice return on their investment. Even small amounts, invested consistently over time, can quietly grow into one significant investment. As for altcoins, they come with higher risks, especially the newly launched ones. However, I think some of the well-established altcoins in the top 10 are also worth considering, as they've already proven themselves to some extent. Personally, I focus mainly on bitcoin because it's the asset I understand best. I don't want to spread my investments across too many different coins. It's much easier to keep track of one, two, or three cryptocurrencies than an entire portfolio of them. Everyone has their own investment strategy. The important thing is that more and more people are beginning to understand that money should be invested so it can generate more money. And even if bitcoin "only" delivers a 200% return over four years, I still think that's an excellent alternative to many other investment options.

The problem we are having is, some individuals makes bitcoin investment harder than it supposed to be. People need to allow the time to help them build up their wealth with critical thinking and good financial decisions at a earlier stage of life, but they choose to force themselves by chasing a luxury life from one place to another, and at the end of it, they end up regretting. The facts is, wealth is rarely built just overnight, the wealth actually builds by from making a good decisions and be gives every decisions one's made a long-term enough to mature, and that's why being consistent enough matters alots, excitement can come later after all the struggles, but building a strong financial position is important, by investing much of your incomes into bitcoin investment for better future. I attest that there are people that spent money unnecessarily, so instead of that, Channel it to DCA inro Bitcoin and sticking on the strategy, stay discipline and bear any market conditions, advisablelly for newbies, you should always invest with your discretionary income.

You’re very correct. Gambling and investment is a different thing entirely, why I said so is because, investment requires patience, long term goals and planning. But it only depends on how a  person invests that can make it look like gambling. When you decide to use money that’s supposed to take care of your bills, like rents, feeding, or use money meant for other important things to buy bitcoin, you have put yourself in taking unnecessary risks.

The very moment emergency shows up, it will make you sell your bitcoin at the wrong time. That’s why it’s very essential to invest only with your discretionary income. In that way you can be able to hold your investment without unnecessary pressure and it will also help you avoid turning investment into gambling.

If bitcoin is at $64k and me as a small investor bought with $1k, for me to make 100% profit bitcoin will have to hit $128k, that is still feasible
But if I'm hoping to make a 200% profit on my investment bitcoin price will have to get to $256k, how achievable is that ? And if it's achievable how long is it going to take
This example is, of course, very accurate and mathematically significant. Virtually everyone needs to bear this in mind when it comes to investing. Over the past 10 years, we have seen incredible increases in the value of Bitcoin. We could say that this was not anticipated by the general public, yet it has generated very, very high returns in percentage terms. But now, as in the example above, when the price rises from 64k to 128 and then to 256, how much profit will we make? I believe Bitcoin will always reach such high levels that we’ll find ourselves saying, ‘Wow, I wish we’d bought it at 64k.’ It will reach levels we’d describe as incredible. But for the average person’s investment, buying at 64k and waiting for 256 is, frankly, a bit of a stretch. It might be difficult to wait for that with sums that are significant for one’s livelihood. We could say that ‘hodling’ was easier for those who bought Bitcoin in 2020, for example. From now on, making big profits won’t be easy for small investors.

Is making such mathematical calculation actually significant? For me there's no point trying to calculate the profit you would make and the time it will take because it can turn to unnecessary worries, that Bitcoin investment is not guaranteed is enough reason to undermine these calculation. Your target as per how long you plan to hold and how much you can afford to invest is more important than making such calculation that is not feasible because volatility will keep taking it's hold. Bitcoin hitting another all time high will mean a 100% with the price now but how long can not actually be calculated, so there is no reason worrying about that and so nothing special about such calculations.

Everyone invests within their capacity, i think it is unwise for anyone to consider theirself as a small investor because having this mindset might make them feel like they might not be able to achieve anything significant compared to those with a huge capital. Bitcoin investment is about going with an amount you can start with and if you are using DCA make sure it's an amount you can be consistent with.

Bitcoin investment is for everyone, even those that don't earn much can create a plan for themselves to invest and in the long run they can make good profit, it all depends on how long they keep their investment running and how consistent they can be.

Their is no where it's written in stone that because you are using the dca accumulating strategy to buy and accumulate Bitcoin, you must buy and accumulate with an exact amount. What I think is more important is consistency in your accumulation, and the size of the amount used to accumulate consistently will depend on your discretionary income, because if this week you can invest with only $20, you can still invest next week with $30 or more if you have more discretionary income available, so I disagree with that notion that it must be an exact amount, because I believe that consistency in your accumulation is the most important thing, no as you are proclaiming.

If someone decides to invest, they should understand that investing is an activity that will not make them rich after a couple of months, because here money is added not according to an arithmetic progression, but according to a geometric one. And this guy should have that in mind. This means that small amounts are very important when investing in bitcoin, because after a while such an investment plan will outpace any money additions in absolute numbers. But not every investor will be able to visualize this in their head, and as a result, become confident in their step-by-step, measured investment plan. It's not as easy as it sounds, but it's actually not that difficult. It all depends on the investor's discipline and mathematical skills.

This is a pathetic idea for a pathetic investor, because a real Bitcoin investor that is only concerned on buying and building a valuable stash of bitcoin will not be messing around on how to buy low and sell high. Or do you think that those investors that have a big stash of bitcoin today give a fuck about the bull or bear circle?

All your ideas and points shows the trait of a trader that is only interested in profit or thinks that he can outsmart the market, not a real investor that have a goal of building a valuable stash of bitcoin, and holding for a long time like three circles or more, because that's the only way to build real wealth, not this trading strategy you are talking of.

The use of funds to invest in Bitcoin is indeed very flexible, no matter how much you have, as long as those funds are discretionary, you can make a purchase.
As we know, while we may have a steady income from our jobs in real life, our weekly/monthly expenses are not fixed, various factors can influence them, and there are inevitably unexpected expenses. Therefore, maintaining that amount will be quite difficult, while maintaining consistency in accumulating Bitcoin must indeed be the primary focus.

Well as a newbie or beginners they also ought to know more about bull run or price dumb because I don't expect a newbie to buy at high I.e peak price as we are aware of massive dump after price had already peaked thus any newbie investor that bought at high would be absolutely disappointed if price dumped while watching your assets drop in price, infact of them might not want to hodl any longer again, meanwhile I think newbie investors should learn to buy low by basically learning through BTC/USD daily chart if there is a price reversal definitely the chart would reveal price dropping at a particular day thus enabling the newbie to start buying and accumulating of course that is my own opinion as regard buy bitcoin by small investors, more so the price of bitcoin is very volatile that singular reason calls for investors to be extraordinary careful before embarking on buying at high instead of buying at a lower price.
How can a newbie understand the chart and know that bitcoin price will dip in the next two hours. Your idea isn't what a newbie needs because they're on a long term investment goal which their primary obligation is to just continue buying bitcoin consistent and persistent with DCA using part of their discretionary regardless the price of bitcoin at that moment.

It's a norm for a newbie to buy and when the price dips, he gets emotional but that doesn't mean that he will sell because he has made a proper plan to buy and hodli for the future. It's when you didn't prepare your mindset towards a long term investment plan that you will panic and sell or you used money for your important needs that this can happen which is why you're to only invest with your discretionary income.

Waiting to buy at the dip isn't guarantee because you can keep on waiting and the price keeps pumping, you will continue to be a no coiner without any clue of the price movement of bitcoin. I see it as a waste of your precious time that you should have used to build your bitcoin stash to a certain level. Waiting isn't smartness because it's not a good move to build and grow to good bitcoin stash for the future.

To answer your question.
The best way a small investor can make good profit from bitcoin is not to just buy and hold (hodl). Before investing in bitcoin you must have it at the back of you mind that bitcoin investment is not a quick profit scheme, even big investors are not into bitcoin for it's quick profit mechanism.

For you to be able to make profit you must be consistent in buying because as you said you are a small investor, you can apply DCA method or any other method you choose to purchase Bitcoin.

You must also understand that Bitcoin is an Asset so you will have to hold on to it for a long time (probably years).

The greatest features of bitcoin is it volatility and scarcity and that what's makes it a good digital asset and not a quick profit scheme. So do your research and invest. And please do not use the money you've set aside to emergency to invest.

Bitcoin investment is about going with an amount you can start with and if you are using DCA make sure it's an amount you can be consistent with.

An investor using DCA strategy can take a break when extra expenses is required for dailies (and other situations) and can also increase the buying amount when there's extra discretionary funds.  But DCA strategy is about investing a fixed amount on a regular interval, just as Jaycoinz said, this fixed amount you have decided is an amount that you can actually be consistent with.

There's nothing for you to disagree with @Barikuri1 because ordinarily DCA strategy is about fixed amount on a regular schedule. Like you are trying to point, that has become part of the innovations in DCA strategy where you can increase your buying amount as much as you have extra discretionary funds and still continue at the next schedule with what is available, also the combo of keeping extra discretionary funds to take advantage of the dip while DCA is effectively on.

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to "non-custodial"

You have been registered on the forum since January 2017 @gabbie2010, and you still have not come to realize that it is better for newbies to buy bitcoin at any price, and maybe to buy for 4-10 years or longer without any assessment of BTC price because first a newbie is not going to have any clue whether the bitcoin price is going to go up, down or sideways, and so the ONLY way to prepare for UP is to actually buy some bitcoin.  Waiting is not a good strategy.

When you got into bitcoin in 2017, did you wait?  If you waited, you got fucked by waiting... but and so maybe you did not learn any lessons from your beginning?  You have been in bitcoin for 9.5 years, and you haven't figured out that it is better to ongoingly accumulate bitcoin, especially for newbies.  I did a quick glance at your posting history, and you don't seem to have had been too involved in shitcoins or trading, so what went wrong?  Why don't you recognize the value of ongoing bitcoin accumulation?

For example  if you had focused on accumulating $100 per week in the past 9.5 years since your forum registration, you would have had invested $500k in to bitcoin  but you would have nearly 5.5 BTC, which surely would be a great place to be.  You think that you need better accumulation than that by fucking around trying to time the bitcoin market?  It is almost impossible for anyone to time the bitcoin market whether they are newbies or not.... and at least the longer time bitcoiners can figure out if they need to change their bitcoin accumulation strategy (and intensity) based on how many BTC that they had already accumulated. Yet, newbies, by definition, have no bitcoin or very little bitcoin, so they should stay focused on accumulating, rather than fucking around waiting for dips that might not end up happening.

1) Self-Custody is a right.  Resist being labelled as: "non-custodial" or "un-hosted."  2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized.  3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

For a new investor who has not yet started, trying to teach him when the price will turn or fall by looking at the daily chart can actually push him towards market timing instead of investing.
No one knows in advance which price will be called high. The price you think is high today may have gone even higher after a few months. In such a situation, if you wait for the so-called cheap price, you can miss out on buying the entire time. Even if the price falls again, it cannot be said with certainty from the chart.

If you are an investor and are in the savings stage, your important task is to consider how much discretionary income you have beyond your essential expenses and buy at an amount that will not affect your life even if the price falls later. Beating the market is not the main objective of an investor.

Everything is relative in the bitcoin price market, and the price that seems low today will seem high tomorrow after the intervention of certain factors (FUD, geopolitics, etc.), and because of such a storm in the market, it is much easier to constantly invest in small amounts that will allow you to move absolutely firmly towards the result, not try to guess and waste your time. and strength ( as well as assets ) to identify one market. These attempts to understand patterns and trends are often unsuccessful in the end, because the market always introduces some random factors and it is much easier to study DCA and move towards your goal without looking at timeframes, but in stages and sequentially.
