Trading isn’t always a bad thing either if the goal is to buy back Bitcoin in a different quantity at a lower price—and there’s no denying that some people do exactly that at certain times.
Whether trading is good or bad is your personal decision. But while trading, planning to buy back Bitcoin at a lower price after selling it is not that easy. Because today, someone may have sold some Bitcoin at a high price for a profit and thought that if the price drops, they will buy more. But if the price increases after their sale, they will have to buy Bitcoin at a higher price or wait a long time or hope for a market decline to prove their previous wrong decision. Although it is not guaranteed that the price will fall even lower than the price at which they sold it. Then, in fact, their long-term accumulation becomes dependent on market speculation.

My personal opinion is that as an investor, the main goal should be to gradually increase the amount of Bitcoin they own and create a position where short-term movements cannot change our decisions.

It is said that it is not a good idea to learn about wallets or rush to choose a wallet before starting investing. Wallets are a technical matter and a small mistake can lead to the loss of all your assets. Therefore, it is not a good idea to never choose a wallet before starting investing or wait to start investing to gain knowledge.

You can keep your holdings or assets in the exchanger at the beginning and over time, you can choose a wallet by gaining all the knowledge related to the wallet and the things that are involved. If the person whose Bitcoin was stolen had knowledge about the wallet, he would never have considered Bitcoin to be guilty of it and still, he would have been encouraged to invest.
I don't think you are correct about not having knowledge of wallets as a beginner. Yes, you don't need to have that technical knowledge of wallets to invest in Bitcoin, but at least one should have the understanding that a non-custodial wallet is the best option for holding Bitcoin, rather than holding Bitcoin on an exchange.
As a beginner, having an understanding of wallet security is very important; this is not something to ignore or to think it can be learned at any time. If you don't understand wallets, security can be easily compromised. And if you choose an exchange over a non-custodial wallet, anything can happen; you can't even tell how reputable or secure the exchange you choose for holding is. Basic knowledge of wallets is important, and it is not complex or too difficult for one to learn.

Hold for a while in exchanges? No dear that's not advisable, you buy and transfer immediately to a safe wallet, you're not trading bht intentions of buying is to hold for long term so what's the neee of holding for a while in the exchange? You can only hold there if your intentions is to trade with it.

People have their different reasons for choosing Bitcoin which is not basically about profits, moreover you don't expect what's not guaranteed but invest and believe that the investment would bring good result in the future. Infact profit shouldn't come first or in between bht last which is after years of accumulation.
It might not look like something that's realistic to you but that doesn't mean that there aren't others who are doing it, you need to know that moving bitcoin around costs quite a lot and for some people that transaction fee is too much for them to be paying on a weekly basis if they are buying bitcoin weekly.
In a situation like this one, the investor can decide to move their bitcoin to a secured wallet once a month, but if they still buy weekly then their assets will have to sit somewhere for around that time period before they can be moved to a secure wallet and using an exchange is the most likely, they are buying the bitcoin from those same exchanges after all.
You shouldn't just discredit someone elses ideas, they are trying to cut down on how much money they lose when then move their bitcoin and if delaying moving their bitcoin to a secured wallet is the best way for them to do this then they will do it.

There are many people who transfer their holdings to their wallets once a month or once every two weeks to reduce their free. However, you need to choose a reliable and trustworthy exchange so that you never get scammed. One of the biggest reasons for doing this is to reduce the free amount, many people buy weekly because if a person buys weekly, he is able to buy a higher average purchase price than the monthly average purchase price. However, just because a person is keeping his holdings on an exchange does not mean that he is trading or has trading skills. In some cases, some tricks, along with some, have to be taken.

I don't think you are understanding why he said that, because the truth is that, you cannot be transferring every $10-20 or even $50 worth of Bitcoin to an exchange because the fee will be too much, and you will be at the losing end, so the wise thing is to buy and accumulate it there, until it has grown and is worth more than $200, that way you wouldn't be paying fees every now and then.

So it's not a bad idea to keep the little unit of Bitcoin bought in an exchange until it has grown to something reasonable before you moves it to a more secured self custodian wallet.
I am currently using only Trust Wallet as my wallet because, first of all, it is a multi-coin wallet that supports any coin. It seems very safe to me, and as an exchange, I use Binance, OKX, and ByBit. I usually transfer $15- $20 worth of BTC from Trust Wallet to Binance. It is very surprising that I only pay $0.10-15 cents in transaction fees. I don't know about BTC transaction fees in other wallets, but Trust Wallet does BTC transactions at very low fees. If it is an amount like $200, $400, or $600, it can be kept in a reputable exchange, but if it is a large amount like $1000, I do not recommend holding it in an exchange because exchanges are never 100% safe. We know that control of our assets on the exchange is in the hands of the exchange's owner.

In cases like this holding for awhile on exchange for few weeks or once their target hit is practical option they could to to reduce fees that they are paying. This is fine as long as they aim to transfer their bought funds in their self custody wallet once they hit their threshold. Majority of those or we are buying on exchange to have Bitcoin, so that action they have done is really fine.

Each investor have different approach, strategy and intended budget. So with the important part to consider is their aim or intention to hold Bitcoin for long term.

It is possible for those that don't have a huge capital to make profit with Bitcoin, I decided to be very selective with my choice of words because I didn't want to use the phrase "small investors". it is actually wrong for investors to think of themselves as small investors even though they are not starting out with a huge capital. Having such a mindset would discourage you and you might give up along the line.

Making profit from a small amount depends on how patient you can be and there are also different means of investment that can be made to help those starting small and one common one is DCA, using this strategy and being consistent with it would definitely give you positive results.

Or are there other ways to make money with bitcoin as a small investor rather than just buy and hold?
This is true, but accumulation can help you achieve your Bitcoin goals much faster.

If you are serious about making profits then make a plan, don't stop at 1k put in the effort. ~

I just want to say that even though I believe in Bitcoin and I think that $250k as a new ATH is inevitable, I still wouldn't advise borrowing money to invest it in BTC with the intention to pay off later, when a new ATH is reached. When you are in debt it makes your life miserable so it's better to avoid that. Invest in Bitcoin every penny you don't need right now, but don't invest the money that you need and never borrow "to invest more."

As long as they don't plan on just permanently holding it there then it's not a problem, hopefully in the near future fees won't be that high anymore, to the point where investors can move their bitcoin to the right wallet without delay if they are buying from outside of it rather than having to wait to get to a certain amount first.
I just want to say that even though I believe in Bitcoin and I think that $250k as a new ATH is inevitable, I still wouldn't advise borrowing money to invest it in BTC with the intention to pay off later, when a new ATH is reached. Invest in Bitcoin every penny you don't need right now, but don't invest the money that you need and never borrow "to invest more."
If you are borrowing money to invest in bitcoin with the hopes of buying back from your bitcoin after it hits a new ATH then you are just fooling yourself. Anyone who intends to borrow in order to buy more bitcoin shouldn't do so if they are planning on paying off the loan from their investment, if you can't pay with your discretionary income with time then you are not in any position to borrow in the first place.

That's why I always advise others not to compare themselves to others, but to compare only themselves today and themselves yesterday (so to speak). I think you understand what I mean by progressing mentally, physically, and financially. This mindset also eliminates envy, which greatly hinders life.
So, when it comes to accumulating Bitcoin, no one should feel like a small investor compared to anyone else. They are just as much of an investor as anyone else if they approach their endeavors with the utmost seriousness and desire to accumulate Bitcoin consistently and wisely.

Part of my point is to be careful about any presumption that there are great needs to build and/or keep large portions of cash on hand when there is hardly any bitcoin investment, and it seems to me that since we are in a bitcoin thread and on a bitcoin forum, we should place some priority on bitcoin investing, yet at the same time, it is true that we should have some expectations that when we are putting money into bitcoin, then any of that new money that we had put into bitcoin is not going to be available for 4-10 years or more, and accordingly there are needs to be able to put the money into bitcoin and there are needs to not think about the money that we put in or to not think about touching that bitcoin invested money for 4-10 years or more, which takes a lot of preparation and a lot of actions to make sure that income is greater than expenses and that guys are able to earn income to pay for their expenses on an ongoing basis, whether their income is regular or irregular, they hopefully have plans and ongoing and persistent actions accompanying their plans to keep building their bitcoin and to not tap into their bitcoin, especially if they are in their bitcoin building stages and/or even when they are in their bitcoin maintaining stages where they might not be able to add to their bitcoin stash due to lack of discretionary funds, yet hopefully they are not putting themselves into positions where they have to end up tapping into their bitcoin at a time that is not of their own choosing, either.
I agree with your point, because in bitcoin investment long term mindset is very important, because once funds are being put into bitcoin with the expectation of holding it for so long, with mindset of 4-10 years or more than that, then that mean we behave like the funds no longer available for our day to day needs again, that will create chance for us to work on our income. because sometimes is not about cash someone should keep, but the financial situation allows to invest into bitcoin without touching it later? at least we should give bitcoin accumulation some priority, especially people with enough discretionary funds after covered the basic needs.

In my own ideas, is that to have some backup funds is a nice idea to avoid any form of unexpected problems that will force you to sell your bitcoin accumulation, have backup will make the strategy more forward and realistic.

All these are baseless assumptions that is not true. I don’t see anything wrong in someone calling himself a “small investor” if he’s starting small. It only describes the amount of money that is currently available to invest, not that it will discourage the person and make him give up along the line.  Someone can start small, have a long term goal and still build a good position over time. There’s nothing wrong in being realistic about how much money you have. So speak for yourself.

The important thing is to invest according to your actual financial situation. Having small funds to invest is a financial reality for many people and changing the term doesn’t change their reality for them.
If a person income increases later on, he can decide to increase the amount as long as he doesn’t invest outside discretionary income.

Good take you got there @samadam007.

When a person doesn’t have much to work with finance-wise, they may tend to be a little more careful with the amount that they put into bitcoin which is a sensible thing to do IMO.

People like this are more likely to do their research more, avoid unnecessary risks and stick to their plan instead of  chasing quick profit.
And the thing about engaging in good habits like this is that it can end up being even more valuable to the person than the amount they started investing with.

At the end of the day, the amount a person used to start investing is only one part of the equation, what matters more is whether they can keep on adding to their position, stay consistent, and give their portfolio enough time to grow.

It is certainly not a bad thing to be honest about your current financial capacity; at least that is much better than trying to look like you have more capital than you actually do or thinking of the low coiner label as something that is gonna be permanent.

Making profit from a small amount depends on how patient you can be and there are also different means of investment that can be made to help those starting small and one common one is DCA, using this strategy and being consistent with it would definitely give you positive results.

Comparison is the thief of joy and that absolutely true, if we begin to compare ourselves with others achievements or others success so far then we will end up not giving gratitude to what we have achieved and we will not always be happy with how far we have become and grown. No matter what or where we find ourselves in this world we shouldn’t make comparison with others life or achievement or success because we won’t always be great full for our own achievement and when it comes to bitcoin investment we should take things easily and not risk what we can afford to loss and not just because we want to meet up with someone’s achievements and be in competition with them and we will end up risking to much because when we do We will end up not being happy with our achievements.
