. I also don't  think it makes common sense to buy storage device that's worth than the amount of bitcoin you're to store in it.
There are literally hardware wallets under $60, unless your funds are under the mentioned amount, you should not yet invest on HW wallets, but other than that, you should do. And HW wallets are not just for long term holding, it can be used for regular sending transactions, you should just sacrifice a little inconvenience.
Satochip is hardware priced at €25 which is said to be still affordable, so spending money on hardware is a long-term goal, let alone intending to save a large amount then I personally say it is mandatory in order to prevent better security.

And using HW for the purpose of regular transactions for me is not too complicated, for me to understand then its use is as simple as that.
That's more better then, but i remember satochip only works on NFC enabled device, if there's no such feature, they have like a NFC adaptor for it but still the device will be under $60.

As for slow sending process, it's helping to have a good practice (to avoid mistakes) and be more patience (which a person need in crypto space) lol.

Be careful is very important with people who have bitcoin, from storing to transacting their bitcoins. It's true with both hot wallets and cold wallets.

With hot wallets, transactions are signed directly on one device, with cold wallets it's created on one device before signing on another device. Mistakes or attacks can happen when creating a transaction, so generally this following guide can help people to change their practice, be more careful, and minimize risk of losing their coins.

For those others they havent seen yet different kind of attacks with their hot wallets or most of the online connected wallets with an asset into their devices and even the centralized exchange to potentially vanish and freeze your funds so cant blame them its their perspective but for me having a crypto is a must to have a hardware wallet. If you can afford to have a crypto you can avail to have a security at the same time this small devices is just another security layer to prevent your asset getting stole and you can hodl your funds in a long term basis. Not all funds ideally stored to your wallet better to distribute.

You can use this wallet to store your bitcoin for long term, and scammers can still break into your wallet to steal your bitcoin, but that one doesn't mean the wallet is not good for bitcoiners users because you can create a room for scammers to have access to your bitcoin by giving them your seeds phase and password, but if you follow the rules and regulations of those wallets, I don't think you will lose your coins for any reason because your key is your bitcoin and do everything possible not to fall victim to scammers.

Honestly, if I had a hundred dollars or two in Bitcoin, I guess I won't be buying a storage device for it.
What is worth $200 today, after 5 to 10 year it may become $2000 or even $5000, who knows! Many of us buy phone worth thousands of dollar, but we are stingy to spend a few hundred dollar one-time on security of our Bitcoin.

If I had extra dollars which could afford me a hardware wallet, I might just decide to buy Sats with it and make my portfolio a bit bigger. That sounds more worth it.
you are stacking Sats to grow your portfolio, that's great! But what is the benefit of making your portfolio bigger if due to lack of security or falling into an unwanted scam, it changes the fate of others? I mean one sows and another reaps  Cheesy

Hot wallets like Electrum or Bluewallet are fine with me for Bitcoin worth a few hundred dollars.
Hmm, Electrum and BlueWallet are both good open-source wallet. It is good to use them in a completely offline environment on airgapped device. If your private key is on an internet connected device then the risk of malware, clipboard hijacker, phishing or compromised device will never be completely eliminated.

I bought my first cold wallet when I only had $50 worth of BTC on an exchange. I got a Trezor Safe 3, which actually cost more than my Bitcoin, but I knew I wanted to invest for the long term, so I didn’t want to leave my BTC on an exchange.

At the time, I had basically zero knowledge about cold wallets. I did some research, asked people in different groups, and ended up getting one. I’m really happy with my decision. I’ve seen people leave a lot of BTC on exchanges, and after a while it just becomes normal because nothing bad happens until something finally does.

Anyway, I agree with OP. I think everyone should get a cold wallet, no matter how much BTC they have.

I believe that if you plan to accumulate bitcoin, you should also take care of its security. Today, you may only invest a small amount, but over time that amount will grow and no longer seem insignificant. You don't have to buy a hardware wallet right away. However, once your bitcoin holdings reach a value that you would truly regret losing, purchasing a hardware wallet becomes a necessity.
