I don't think it's a good idea to rely on monthly upkeep to invest because there's no way such student can catch up with his/her investments. Mind you upkeep money isn't money you earn by yourself, it usually come from family members or another person as a support. You see that kind of money won't work for investment because anytime maybe people sponsoring you face difficulties, it would definitely affect your investment. Whether you're a students or not, never depend on someone else money to invest, it's advisable to have your own source of income for investing.
He can invest with money from his family, maybe he will not be able to keep an emergency fund, but he can definitely invest. If for some reason his family stops giving him money, then he can stop his investment in the middle and start again after he gets a job. But if a person is interested in investing from his student life, it will be more helpful for him to continue in the future. Because we know that the next stage of education is when a boy gets involved in employment, life is no longer easy for him. In the present era, there are very few boys who are not involved in drugs. But most of the boys are now involved in drugs, that too from their student life. What you should understand is you don't have to force yourself to invest whether in bitcoin or any other investments, if you are not financially stable. How is it possible for someone that is not earning on their own to invest? You must have something doing so that you don't have to wait for someone else's money to make your investment grow. As you are waiting for monthly upkeep, don't forget that there are still many other things you will need to take care as a student. And no matter how hard you try to reduce your expenses, if you invest that money you might end up struggling financially and that's a bad habit of any investors because that can lead to panic selling. A lot of people focus on investing but forget that financial stability comes first, one shouldn't put oneself under pressure just to say one are an investor, building a good source of income managing one expenses and learning how investment work are all apart of the process. A good investors knows when to invest and when to be patient.

True. Cos I don’t see someone without a source of income having discretionary income and we all know that without discretionary income, investing in Bitcoin isn’t always possible, except of course you wanna put yourself under some serious financial stress. Even if a person isn’t completely financially stable, but at least the person needs to have a source of income, even if it’s not stable, but let it be able to generate discretionary income overtime.

I understand your point, but I think the situation is a bit different when we're talking about students. Not every student has a stable source of income, yet some receive more than enough allowances or financial support from their parents or guardians. If their essential needs, such as tuition, accommodation, and feeding, are already covered, any remaining money could be considered discretionary income, which can be used for investing in bitcoin, a student may invest a small amount without putting themselves under financial pressure, if the allowance is only enough to cover basic expenses, then investing should not be a priority. The key is to invest only money that is truly surplus and not needed for essential living expenses.

The goal of every student should be long-term. It is better for a person or a student to have some Bitcoin than not to have any. So if a student wants to invest in Bitcoin, he can do so. If they start investing now, they will learn to manage their finances very quickly and in the future, when they find a source of income, they will not have any problem in managing their finances properly in terms of investment.
Considering the average Nigerian who struggles to enter into a higher institution or even struggle to pay their fees, this advice would be completely irrelevant to them because tell me how you find it difficult to feed and pay your fees yet you want to invest in bitcoin, with which money? Let's be realistic man. The best approach to investing in bitcoin as a student irrespective of your financial condition is to get a side hustle. No matter how tight the schedules are there is always time for yourself and that time could be best utilized for reading, doing your side hustle, resting... rather than hanging with friends discussing irrelevant matters.

In my opinion, it is better not to invest during a student's education. For example, if a student is asked to invest from primary to high school and even college, then his education can be seriously affected. They are not only investors, but they can also gamble along with investing. Moreover, according to the calculation you have made here, I would say that a family may or may not give this much money to a student, but most families will not give this much money. There should also be a certain age for investment and I consider it better to just study while studying without paying attention to anything else.
However, I think that one can definitely invest in college life, by paying tuition yourself or earning money in some other good way. Moreover, it is better not to invest without saving a little money for notebooks, pens and tiffin. This will increase the student's focus on studies, but when interest in investment is created, his education will be seriously affected. Because interest in investment at a young age will be a serious harm to studies.

As a student excluding your academic functions one thing you need is to have multiple source of income to sustain you in school, the income must not be those that demand a lot of time but the minor incomes that can sustain you with the help of your sponsors in school. You shouldn't be investing in BTC without having a source of income, anybody that is thinking they can do that isn't serious about investing as they will probably end up spending the money they had in Bitcoin. Education is very expensive so you shouldn't be dividing the little you have instead you can work multiple jobs to generate more income then you can start thinking about saving them as investment in Bitcoin for when you are done with school because the system does not care about graduate. Working and studying as a student is not easy as we see it most time and can be highly sidetracked by the influence of the joband other factors like how to do assignment which is the major time everything students faces. Secondly funds to buy food stuffs, clothing, hand hout and lots more. A lot of student are depending on there parent for everything and making them very lazy. As we all know that the nature of available work may not suit his her studies. Having an online business or something to fall back to is immediate.

One thing I know for sure, one can do anything they hope to if they can put their minds to it and with a little resource to help them go on.
$30 isn’t enough to manage as a student in Nigerian universities. The university life is very demanding these days and when you happen to live off campus, it’s even the more too demanding. You get to ballet the same cost of living and with the hike in transportation, saving out $10 as discretionary income seems a lot impossible.
One means to go about this remains trying to find and get other jobs. Some students work weekend shifts and night jobs, it’s the one way to go through school and actively invest otherwise, they just might not be able to invest from $30 monthly allowance while catering for school.

It is actually hard to find students with a source of income, the average student still depends on other people for survival and due to that reason making any sort of investment is not really going to be easy for them.
A lot of students don't start up an investment because they know that it is quite stressful to combine academics and investment because in the long run one must be given more attention.
Investing takes a lot of consistency and financial stability and this is something that students don't have.

I agree that alot of student still depends on other people for survival. And combining investment with academics can be stressful but that's why its done with strategy and with with only your discretionary income and also it's a long term investment (Bitcoin i mean) so after investing money you won't need for a long period of time or for emergencies ,with the Aid of basic knowledge it can be balanced by a student who is discipline and lack emotional weakness.

Yes, it is true that most of the students do not have a source of income. But if they are able to find a source of income along with their studies, it will be very good for them. By source of income, if they can teach their younger sons or daughters along with their studies or can get a small job along with their studies, but first of all, they have to keep their studies in order and try to do all these things while keeping their studies in order. A student does not need continuity in terms of investment. They do not have a source of income and even if they do, then that source of income is unstable, so they do not need to focus on their continuous investment, they need to do proper financial management and find a discretionary income so that whenever they are able to get a discretionary income, they can buy

It can actually be impossible chasing two things at a time, but it all all depends on what you’re doing. We have 24hours in a day,it’s not like accumulating your desired amount of bitcoin is going to take the whole day,but if you’re a bitcoin trader you can’t concentrate on your studies because trading requires active participation in the price chart and all the technical aspects of it.By the way, most of these students are struggling financially in their various college, investing on bitcoin wouldn’t come into their mind even if receive money from their parents or loved ones, even those students that are providing for themselves wouldn’t put their money into bitcoin because there are more important educational materials they would be need.

Students whose family status is relatively good usually depend on their parents for their expenses. But those who are from lower or middle class families may not be able to depend on their family for their expenses along with their studies, which is why they prefer to do small jobs along with their studies so that they can meet most of their needs from there and also stand by their family. Of course, education should be given top priority because education and skills will increase their earning potential in the future. If a student is personally facing any family or financial problems, then he should choose a job where his studies will not be affected and he can also meet his needs very comfortably by working alongside his studies. In this case, online business or freelancing can be chosen as a good option, but in this case too, some skills are required. Students need to create a balance where they can take financial responsibility even if it is small, so that they can maintain a balance on both sides.

Very interesting for a student to start investing all their little savings from year 1 to final year and NYSC. But there's need for specificity, they are all students but the fact that they can't all even get such amount monthly in the first place makes it important for you to be clear about the students you are referring to. The $30 dollars you pointed at is around #50,000 which some students haven't received in a month ever since they got admitted except for payment of one fee or the other. Some students actually can be able to save up for Bitcoin investment using DCA. It's actually encouraging deciding to build such financial management discipline but some students who already has this discipline don't have such resources. Don't forget the level of inflation in Nigeria of today.
Some students usually have some savings which can be DCAed into Bitcoin but some are even been helped by their friends there in school in one way or another.

You're very right about that. Investing is going to be impossible without financial protection and financial stability through finding a good or reliable source of income. Investment require patients and not everyone could bear to lose a lot as a result of investment. Essential things necessary for starting an investment financial situation. And I students that is still under parent's care cannot afford to start an investment. Investment can only be possible if the investor is independent.

1 Stop all unnecessary expenses, such as smoking expenses, drinking expenses, extra mobile expenses, spending extra with friends, going out, etc. it hardly before you see students that knows the reason why is in to study, to be drinking and spending money unwisely, any students that's doing it, is not ready to study or learn 2 Buy every thing or product at a reasonable price and save money. Students buy products that is lesser cheaper, a good students manage any money the parent gave to he or her, and they doesn't like to buy any products at costly price, mostly students economise whatever they have so that it will serve them for long way

You have to be receiving a relatively high amount that is above your financial requirement as a student before you can take out from your upkeep and use it for investing in bitcoin.
Even children that are pretty tender can have a bitcoin allocation that is designed to be used by them when they have grown. all these things are possible but it all depends on wether or not funds is available. if you are not the one that is earning the money, then such financial decision is best made by the person that is sending you the money or else, when he decides to stop sending the only option you will be left will is to pause your investment and start selling and if the market is down, you will be left to sell at a loss. The best way to start your investment is to build your financial life first and then you can build your investment portfolio.

Let's assume that a student does not have a source of income, he wants to invest the amount of money he gets from his family for his daily expenses. Yes, he can definitely invest, if he can manage his financial situation properly and reduce his depreciation expenses. In the case of a student, the main task is not to invest continuously but to hold it in the long term. Because he does not have a source of income
How will he possibly invest when he does not have a source of income? The available money to him is for his school activities, thus, diverting the funds or some of the funds for investment might worry the original intention or assignment of the money. If you ask me, I think a student who is actually depending on his parents for financial upkeep of his schooling should focus on that and forget about investments for now. Unless, maybe, if he is into something else that gives him some income, maybe a little job after school, or any errands he runs occasionally to make money, then he can know how to manage his little income in investing while he uses his parents support for the school activities. Secondly, paradventure, his parents are very rich and gives him excess or extra money for personal upkeep outside his school upkeeps, then he can intentionally save up some little money bit by bit to invest gradually. Apart from this, I think a student should concentrate and use his school money for what it is meant for.

students actually shouldn't invest at the expense of their basic needs. However, I don't think a relatively high income is always necessary before someone can start investing. What's more important is having a discretionary income and investing only what you can comfortably leave untouched for years. Even if it's a small amount, consistency matters more than size. A student who saves and invests a little every month is also building financial discipline, which is arguably more valuable than waiting for a higher income before taking the first step. The goal isn't to invest everything you have; it's to develop the habit of holding and accumulating assets without compromising your education or daily living expenses. That's a mindset that pays off long after graduation.

You don't have to be financially stable before you can start investing in Bitcoin if you want to be financially stable you may not get started with your Bitcoin investment, on a normal circumstances there is absolutely no need to put your self into unnecessary pressure just because you want to invest in Bitcoin don't try to invest if you don't have an discretionary income available but from the income you have if you can find out you still have some discretionary income left after you have meet with your necessary or important needs then you can accumulate Bitcoin even though your finance isn't stable yet then as time goes on you can be working on how to increase your finance so you can persistently be accumulating Bitcoin regularly and hold it for long.

I don't like when people are not realistic. Some of you talk like you live in a different Nigeria. You say things that you know you won't be able to do. Am I the only one that knows the situation of Nigeria? Why does it feel like everyone else has money? That's how I saw a social media post telling corpers to have savings from their 77k allowance. Do we really believe 77k would be enough for a person living in a strange land, and even enough for him to have reasonable savings? The post was asking them to save 20-30k every month. Even 100k is not enough for a person in a month. That is asking a person to spend 25k a week. Now we are expecting students who, most don't get more than 50k in a month, to invest.
When I was in school, my allowance was 20k a month. Then, inflation was not this bad. Even though the cost of living was high, you could make do with the 20k. In today's Nigeria, 40k won't be enough for a week. Your transport and data subscription alone will cost about 15k.
Please, let's leave students out of investing. Most of them are suffering. The rich ones can invest, but the poor ones should just focus on making it to next Friday, except they hit some money from somewhere like a relative or something. Only students are meant to have a source of income while in school, only students are supposed to learn a skill while in school and they are also expected to graduate with good grades. Now they are supposed to have an investment. All these are part of the signs of a failed country.
