This is what the police officers has been doing for a long time and the leaders are aware of it and has been mute because the citizens has been crying out loud on how the police officers are extorting from them on the road and nothing was done, Police brutality and extortion has been on the increase but I thank God that those four Police officers has meet their Waterloo. There's an adage that says everyday for the thief and one day is for the owner that is exactly what happened and I'm very sure they will be dismissed from police force with immediate effects and this will serve as a warning to others.

What surprise me most about this entire story is that they never take their time to be conversant about the country and even observe the law in its order, how possible could a police officer claim not to know the chairman of ICPC to the extent that the exchange words together and even go to the point of receiving bribery from him, I'm sure this man does not appear in a unique form with convoy or other escorts around him and this is why they are also unsuspicious about his position or status.

Nigeria is a very corrupt country and the police officer are not left out. They do this all the time to citizens,  so I am surprised on this news. My joy is just that they have been caught and they will definitely pay for it. Sometimes I don't want to blame them for collecting bribe, because I feel our government don't take good care of them, so they are just try to find a way to survive,  but on the other hand I understand how it feels if a police officer stops a citizen on the road and forcefully collect money from them, because that is what most of the police officers do on the road. It also painful that they also collect bribe and set a guilty person free, while the innocent suffer for it. This call for an urgent need for the Nigeria police to re trained their officers because the numbers of misconduct of police officers in the country is high. Nigeria police officer are fond of extorting citizen especially motorists, they will look for any allegations to accuse you of, then they will threaten to shoot you if you don't cooperate or comply with their requests.  those officers actually go what they deserve and unless they are severely penalised probably dismissal from the force and jail terms, other police officer who are corrupt won't learn anything.

The issue of corruption and extortions that the police officers are doing on the roads won't stop if they are not being monitored and a team is inaugurated solely to check mate them on the high way secretly, the extortion has eaten deep into them that they neglect their duties and focus on the money they collect and even when people carry human head and other dangerous substances like cocaine once they give them two hundred naira(#200)  they collect without checking their vehicles and it has lead to many deaths of innocent citizens which is worrisome.

What happened calls for a total overhaulling of the Nigerian police Force and re-orientations of the officers because it's a shame that they are not conversant with their heads and superiors, if you have become a victim of it you will understand how frustrating this officers can be. Let the law take it's course on them.

We still have some honest policemen that don’t collect bribes, but they’re very hard to see and come around. Most Nigerians have generalised that all policemen are bribe collectors and it makes it very hard to differentiate from the one that doesn’t collect bribe. When honest ones like this are being encountered, they hate them and call them too religious and patriotic which is what the uniform should represent. Even their colleagues at work don’t like working with such officers and feel they’ll not allow them collect bribe or likely expose them. There are still good police officers out there, but if we still have people who secretly checkmate the activities of the policemen, they’ll stop being a nuisance of extortion in the society they’re suppose to protect.

The level of corruption in police departments is so annoying, I feel they just go around demanding money from people and they abandon what they are suppose to do. Police are suppose to be protecting life’s are properties, and whenever we see police, we are always suppose to feel safe,  but whenever people see police now, they are always feeling unsecured, because people that are suppose to safe us are the harassing us.

I came to know about this incident when the police chief in charge of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja made known about this on an interview last few days, how some group of police officers went to arrest and illegal extorted the sum of #53,000 from the hand of the director and chairman of Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission. And for me, I'm happy this thing was doe to a high rank public officials while he was off duty. And this shows how these group of police officers might have been harassing people all over Abuja without anybody knowing. But as God may have it, they did it to the wrongest person they never should have imagined such could be done to him. So to me, this is just God trying to review the bad act of these police officers.
