If you look at history, winning a European league trophy has shown that poor performance in the domestic league doesn’t always mean their fate in European competitions will be bad too. Take Tottenham for example they were almost relegated but still managed to win the Europa League. There were even a few years ago a team that went unbeaten all season but lost in the Europa League final, like Leverkusen when they lost to Atalanta.

So in European league competitions, no team should be underestimated, not even teams that are not favored at all. Because European competitions always tend to deliver unexpected surprises, especially since every team has huge motivation in this competition, particularly when they perform poorly in their domestic league. To secure a UCL spot they have to win the Europa League trophy. This competition itself is comprises of weak teams that aren't capable of playing in the UEFA champions league. Premier league and La Liga are the most competitive league among others. Tottenham played against strong teams in the Premier League and their weakness is easily exposed but they come here to play against weaker teams like them. They won it last season because they were the weak among the weakest. I won't be surprised if Crystal Palace repeat the history.

I can’t imagine a player of Luca Modric’s caliber not being played at all when AC Milan lost. Then Rabiot was only played for about 15 minutes. Tomori also just watched his team lose from the bench.

They could be in bad form in Premier League but perhaps the team they were facing in Premier league were tough than the teams in Europa. Isn't Manchester United they played the final that very day, the match ended as 1 goal and I remember immediately they scored the goal before the first half, they turn their games to defensive game and that made Manchester United game very hard to pass through, they did tried but all short on target where block.

I have checked the table after the first match of the league, I think I will have to go with Leverkusen or Benfica on this one. The other teams at the top has also won and gotten 3 points but I don't think they will be ale to win the league, some of the twne are not even good in their domestic league. If they survived the first league phase, they wouldn't survive the next one.
