The UEFA only followed the instructions of Turkish security agencies.

The UEFA has been very careful here because they did only act in agreement with national authorities for any match when Isreal plays away from home. Since 2023, I think everyone knows that times have once again changed for the worse.

Yeah, a really strange situation. The participation of Israeli clubs in international competitions is questionable in itself, but given their brazen demands and the fact that they have zero positive impact on the tournaments, it looks like a bad joke. I think the vast majority of fans hope that these problematic clubs will be knocked out of the tournaments as early as possible. In fact quite the opposite, relations are good. This is a safe country for Israelis as well, just as it is for all other nations. Aside from a few small political extremist groups, no one has a problem with Israeli teams. This is sports, not war. Athletes aren't responsible for the crimes committed by their governments either.

If Turkish teams are going to lose their home-field advantage when playing against Israeli teams, then UEFA shouldn't have allowed these match-ups in the first place. UEFA can have security concerns, but i think the rules should be clear and applied strictly to every club and their player should not be punished for political decisions made by any governments, because football is a game that is supposed to bring people together and if UEFA believes a game cannot safely be played at its scheduled venue, they should just come out and explain their reasons openly rather than leaving clubs and supporters feeling that they are being treated differently.

If a match were held in Batumi, enough Turks would go to watch it, filling the entire stadium. Yet, all of this is ridiculous; why can't we play our own home matches? If there are political problems, wars, or other issues, why do these teams come to play in Europe? This situation needs to change; no country has to accept this. This is not my opinion or anything and I know Turkey, but sometimes this is presented as if the Israeli players unilaterally decide to not go to Turkey and play. A far as I know and from what I had read, this is wrong. I don't know what the situation is now, but the standard process is that the UEFA is consulting national security agencies for almost all matches, depending on whether there could be expected threats or not. And the last time it was the Turkish security agency that said to the UEFA: this is not good.

It may have changed, but there must be a reason why the UEFA goes this way. I don't think they have just decided it because it felt great.

I hate it for any team when they can't play at home because that is what it is all about. Both teams get a chance to play in front of their own fans and with the support of their own fans. Shakhtar knows this too well. God knows for how many years they won't be able to play at home. Terrible.
