Be careful if you connect to public WiFi

From the OP's statement down to all I have seen numerous statements condemning the use of public WiFi maybe because of the horrible experience many had in various occasions,  of a truth some of this free Wi-Fi's where not made available because of any negative reasons but just as a means of customer attractions because it is not all time one can be buoyant financially to afford Internet access and it will help attract customers.
Instead of condemning it completely, I will rather say those using it should be conscious enough on the process of using it because even if it is not disastrous at that point in time because it have not been tampered it may still be because technological advancement has made everything very possible.

The point is that they should be careful and know which ones to make use of.I making uses of public Wi-Fi, but only when it is from people I trust. Anywhere I connected, if offered Wi-Fi, I don’t just make use of it. I think that is the best way everyone should always act, because it is better to be careful and prevent problems than to regret it later.So, it is just a matter of carefulness, nothing more than that. It would be bad to lose something big because of a small offer.Yes, you have a point that, in most cases, it is used to attract customers. But let’s not forget that some businesses may be owned by scammers.

Thanks for the advice is really a nice one I don't take any from of advice for granted it my mostly in this digital era one has to  be extremely careful when using public wifi for banking it safe to use your own mobile data the rate of insecurity in the society is alarming each day and is better to have a knowledge about a situation to avoid falling a victim because one choose on holding on to information let's all be safe

Free wifi has always been a plague, which is why i always try to avoid it, sometimes the main problem could be that someone gets in the way and simulates the network and when someone connects it does MITM and this can be really unpleasant, especially if precautions are not taken, an alternative could be to use a VPN.

I don't know if VPN will give you complete peace of mind, but I forbid everyone from using free WiFi. Because every person has some important information on their mobile, like my Bitcoin wallet is installed on my mobile, so I definitely take precautions before using any network.
So if you sit down to have coffee in a restaurant on the side of the road and use WiFi to spend some time online, it is a serious risk, so it is better to be careful of using WiFi in all these places. But in my opinion, you need to permanently set up a network so that you can use it alone without any risk.

Yes, in some countries this problem is very rare and there are many people who do not know about it and do not take these issues seriously. They think that if they are only associated with WIF, what will happen that can harm me. If they do a little research about all this, they will understand how big a risky decision they have taken.

I myself do not use such WIFs and I advise everyone I know not to use them. In most cases, the problem we see is that our information is stolen.

Being careful in what so ever we do is the best approach to a successful life, many regret today because they believe in capitalising on every opportunity they see without knowing its not all that glitters are gold.
Its nice advising all to be careful on their move at all times. At least I have learned something great today,  before I see all public enterprises and its working processes as a unique way of attracting customers without reasoning or thinking that some maybe from the same scammers we are running from  but now I have known and will work on the security of my assets because that is the only way to become successful.

It is not just public Wi-Fi that poses a risk; other people's private Wi-Fi networks can be dangerous too, as the router might be configured to intercept data (sniffing), or facilitate hacking. Therefore, I advise you not to connect your devices indiscriminately. It is far better to use your own internet connection, than to rely on someone else's Wi-Fi, where hidden dangers may exist.

Still cannot tell where the world is driving to. Scammers uses every opportunity they see for there advantage,  on this i will say we need to avoid the use of public WiFi because many have lost it all through it.

I think it is best not to use free stuff. Because whenever we use something for free, there are many mysteries behind it that we cannot know. But whenever we make a purchase, we have some security that we can protect ourselves from mysterious content.

For example, if we look at Facebook, we see that all the things we like are advertised in front of us. They basically sell our data to others, for example, if a person sells toys and I like toys and watch videos of toys, I get to see advertisements for toys, in this way they sell our data to others.

It is not enough to be careful only when using banking apps, we should also be careful when using crypto wallets. If the amount of funds is huge, we always have to use our devices carefully. Many people have been victims of hacking or scams due to the use of public Wi-Fi. Therefore, everyone should not use public Wi-Fi for a short time. If absolutely necessary then they should use their own mobile data. A crypto holder should always be careful. they should not use public Wi-Fi, not click on any links, not store seed phrases anywhere online, all these things should be maintained very carefully . For some people they always want free stuff, they don't care about information being harvest and gathered, or even the phone or device get compromised, for people who knew the danger they will always cautious and aware of the situation, they provide their own WIFI connection or or data, the only problem with people sometimes is the password are sometimes default or obvious that is why their password are being guessed, this are people who only reason is to have internet connection and don't care about security.

For the fact that it is free, the reasons why ignorant people always fall for it they tend to use it not thinking about the danger's and consequences it comes with. Fine if one want's to use free WiFi, it should be that the device or gadget it is being used on doesn't have any sensitive data or information attached or stored in it so that even if hackers were able to access the device, they can not be able to steal any tangible from the device. Maybe you can just use it to wat h movies, read materials online, update your device version etc as long as that gadget has nothing sensitive attached.

It is as simple as this because when you tell people to be careful about public wifi is not about using it, but about people making it a target for people, and since you won't know which one it will be better for you to just make use of your own cellular data to avoid it so that you don't fall victim. And the way things are, I feel like people are always looking for cheap things this is one of the reasons why it should be avoided in the first place.

As an individual who values his internet security and likewise hold a huge sum of money on his Bitcoin/crypto wallet, then you ought to have understood that using public WiFi is not always considered to be safe. Because just as some public spaces may not have a bad intention of stealing your personal data, that's how if you are a regular user of public WiFi, you might end up falling victim into a scam Public WiFi where your informations might be stolen even without your notice. Some persons dont even care, no matter how affordable getting a data is, if they still get access to agree wifi they would want to use it in downloading and browsing everything they want and this is still the same internet data that they can comfortably afford. As far as this scam exist people may likely fall for it and it is fortunate that most people dont evn know they can be scammed by using public Internet data which people can hacked into their accounts.
