Yesterday I reported several posts by user @hostm in which he calls for the extermination of Ukrainians and the systematic destruction of Ukraine with all possible military means, and both were handled as "Bad". I honestly didn't even think that the Russian mod who moderates P&S would do anything else, but that's why I ask directly @theymos why he allows such posts that can without any doubt be interpreted as death threats directed at individuals or the entire nation. All Banderites must be exterminated without exception. Because they are no longer human beings. The Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) was created in 1929 at a congress in Vienna. By 1940, it split into two parts. The most radical of them, OUN (b), was headed by S. Bandera. In 1942, on the basis of the structures of the OUN (b), the so-called Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) was formed (an organization banned in the Russian Federation), known for its brutal executions and atrocities against the civilian population. Here are some of the crimes of Bandera's followers in the 1940s and 1950s: July 1941. Lviv. Mass murders of representatives of the Polish intelligentsia in Lvov. 45 Polish scientists and teachers were killed by the OUN and UPA punitive forces. September 29, 1941. Babi Yar, Kyiv. Ukrainian nationalists participated in the mass execution of Jews, Gypsies and Soviet prisoners of war. On the first day, 33,771 people were shot. In total, about 100-150 thousand people were killed. The heaviest strikes against Ukraine took place on the night of May 23–24, 2026.
To end the war sooner, it is necessary to strike Ukraine in this manner every night for several consecutive months. Ukrainian people should be warned not to go to work at night to avoid heavy casualties, while strikes are delivered ruthlessly using all available weaponry.
Only then will Ukraine be unable to hold out and be forced to capitulate—on any terms.
And so on...

I think the rule is about someone talking to another person that he will harm the person, it is not about geopolitical conflicts like the Russia and Ukraine war.
If he is from Russia, there are some important parts of Russia that Ukraine used drones to attack recently, it could be what that triggered him. Russia is now importing refine oil product from India recently because of this as they have fuel shortage.
Emotional posts about it on this forum is nothing to what has been done in the war. People that have died are many and the admin of this forum can not control that. I wish the war could end and I wished Russia and Ukraine are closer brothers than the situation now.

It maybe an Emotional posts but it does have death threat in it, the death threats in it is of mass proportion and although you might say it wasn’t targeted at a specific member of the forum but mind you we have members from different parts of the world here and those from Ukraine can find it as a direct reference to them. I also wish the war could end but provocative post with serious threats in it can pass a bad message to Ukrainians and non Ukrainians too.

Yesterday I reported several posts by user @hostm in which he calls for the extermination of Ukrainians and the systematic destruction of Ukraine with all possible military means, and both were handled as "Bad".
Those posts need to be deleted as such words are too bad. I know there are good and bad people everywhere but I am speechless with people who support wars and genocides against other nations and people there. Russia has no reason to attack and invade Ukraine, since 2014 to 2022, and it's more sad to see there are people supporting that. 8. No threats to inflict bodily harm, death threats.
I guess the rule is about individuals but I think if it is about a nation or an ethnic group, it's unacceptable and the rule can be applied too. I honestly didn't even think that the Russian mod who moderates P&S would do anything else, but that's why I ask directly @theymos why he allows such posts that can without any doubt be interpreted as death threats directed at individuals or the entire nation.
Likely a moderator handled your reports, not theymos.

Most countries do not support the invasion but do not think some Russians will not. Inside Russia: Independent polling by the Levada Center has generally found that about 70–77% of respondents said they supported the Russian military's actions in Ukraine, although researchers caution that fear of criticizing the government may affect responses. Also some people in other countries supported it but outnumbered by those that opposed it. Some countries supported Russia.

In my opinion you're actually letting emotions get the better of you here ... It's understandable though considering the premise of the topic. Anyways I believe the German board should have an off topic section best it's either there or if they have a politics and society board it could fit there better still. That being said, he's airing an opinion and it could be trash or not but the point is his opinion is near insignificant to what's gonna affect real life scenarios. On the contrary if you can find a forum rule that it's against then it's gonna get nuked either way.

Well, first of all, just because I moderate the Russian-language section doesn’t mean I’m from Russia. The Russian-language section is intended for anyone who understands Russian, and nationality plays no role here. It’s the same as saying that all moderators who moderate the English-language sections of the forum are English. Second, specific calls for violence should not be confused with vague and impersonal pronouncements. It's sad to see that some people are fueled with hate and they are using bitcointalk forum as platform for spreading hate to others... nobody replies to them, but they keep posting...
The point is that as long as users don't violate forum rules with their posts, no one touches them. Formally, showing hatred is not a violation of the rules. The only thing is that if there is a specific call to violence in the post, such a post should be deleted and the user may get a ban. Since Russia's war against Ukraine is illegal from the point of view of the United States, such statements on the forum should be deleted and users can be banned. For example: - "Russian military: go bomb Ukraine!"
- "You should go join the Russian army to help the war against Ukraine."
- "You should attack Ukrainians."
But such statements (even though they are wrong) are allowed because they do not directly call for violence: For example: - "The war against Ukraine is justified."
- "It would strategically be a good idea for Putin to bomb Ukraine."
Specific incitement to violence is forbidden on the forum. P.S. My post is based on a consultation with theymos.

Yes, if I'm not mistaken, in the Russian section, one moderator is Ukrainian and the second is Russian. Btw, different peoples have generalized nicknames given to them by other peoples or social groups ... but this particular quote literally and unequivocally says, "All Ukrainians must be exterminated." It's like someone saying, "All Yankees must be exterminated"... everyone would understand they were talking about Americans, right? So... which of these categories does this user's post fall under? All Banderites must be exterminated without exception. Because they are no longer human beings. [...]

Some of you are trying to criticize me for trying to separate the wheat from the chaff, but you yourself don't notice (or perhaps deliberately ignore) how the forum is turning into a garbage dump thanks to users like these.[/list]

Am not for or against any country in this Russia and Ukraine war that has lingered for years now because I abhor war in all entirety of it. War destroys in a short moment developments that took decades to establish, not to mention the lost lives that can't be brought back.
If there's a forum rule that is centered against violent instigation speech against a country other than an individual then perhaps it should be cited to back the call for the deletion of the said comments. Or, maybe the forum administrators could use this scenario to see the need to come up with a rule that should handle future grievance of this nature to prevent debates from different opinions if a certain statement deserve to be deleted or not.

I still see it more as a political statement than a direct death threat, although it's certainly a very strong and inflammatory one. That said, if the message promotes or encourages harm against a group of people, then I think it crosses the line regardless of how it's classified. In my opinion, the post should be removed because it advocates violence, even if it's framed as a political statement rather than an explicit threat

Xal0lex has given a perfect anwser about it. Second, specific calls for violence should not be confused with vague and impersonal pronouncements.
If it is about a group of people that are using this forum to trade threat discussion like they will attack each other, that is different. What the person said do not change anything about the war.

Personal opinion. And keep in mind I am probably as neutral as someone can be. Vague and interpretable is one thing. But the term 'Banderites' is as clear as it can be. Hell. There is even a Wikipedia page for it, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BanderiteAlso. Is there any way 'exterminated' can be read in a non violent way and rather in a 'impersonal pronouncement' way instead? Or. Now that I see this insult around Bitcoin Talk a lot, would I be forgiven if I said 'All Pajeets must be exterminated'? How about 'All the black must die!' in a political Topic? I mean. It can always be that I only wanted the World to wear more colorful T shirts or that I wanted the insulting term 'Pajeets' exterminated from the Internet, right? To me, there is clear bias here and what Lucius quoted is clearly a call for violence. Correct me if I am wrong.

Due to the extremity and urgency of its wording, I find the first comment to be too close to incitement to violence. So that post is deleted, and the user is temporarily banned. The second post is a commentary on war strategy, not an incitement to imminent violence. So that's not against the rules. A good exercise is to reverse it: - "All Putin-followers must be exterminated without exception. Because they are no longer human beings." <- This should be deleted, because it's very close to calling on the reader to go out and do something violent.
- "To end the war sooner, it's necessary for Ukraine to strike Moscow, like they did recently, every night for several consecutive months [...]" <- This should not be deleted, because it's general war/policy commentary, not inciting the reader to violence.

I believe that, regardless of the tone, certain kinds of posts should be banned from this forum, especially those related to war and other topics involving the loss of human lives. The question that I ask is: if we are on a crypto forum, why discuss wars or the reasons behind one side's or the other's actions? I have my own opinion about this war, but I refuse to post it here because I know that both Russians and Ukrainians have their own perspectives in this horrific conflict that has been going on for many months. Each side has suffered losses, faces its own hardships and has its own reasons for supporting one side or the other. It is not up to us to present those viewpoints here and declare what is right or wrong. The point is that everything we say here concerns highly emotional issues, which are often discussed without reason and can easily offend other people. We are talking about human lives being lost.... Due to the extremity and urgency of its wording, I find the first comment to be too close to incitement to violence. So that post is deleted, and the user is temporarily banned.
The second post is a commentary on war strategy, not an incitement to imminent violence. So that's not against the rules.
This kind of topic should be banned, even to avoid putting moderators in the subjective position of deciding what is right or wrong.

...Russian mod
When the Russian propagandist Snork1979 was banned, he claimed that I’m from Ukraine and support Ukraine. I am a citizen of Russia and I support Russia. Xal0lex is a citizen of Ukraine and he supports Ukraine.
Now, because I didn’t delete the posts of another Russian propagandist, you’re claiming that I’m a "Russian mod". In other words, you’re both portraying me in a light that suits your own interests. People like that are called manipulators, who try to sway public opinion for their own gain. In that respect, you're the same.

I'm not sure who you're talking about, but I mentioned you're Ukrainian because I once saw a post with that claim and couldn't remember who wrote it and emphasized it by saying (quote). Yes, if I'm not mistaken, [...]
But somehow, that information stuck in my memory. And obviously, once you found the quote, neither I nor anyone else will buy into Snork1979's nonsense (though your word was enough). p.s. Once we have received the admin's response, the topic can be closed.

You didn't write whether you took any action against the moderator who had my report as "Bad" and who is more than obviously protecting Russian propagandists on this forum? There are dozens of posts with similar content in that topic, and if objective moderation cannot be ensured, then it should be locked. The second post is a commentary on war strategy, not an incitement to imminent violence. So that's not against the rules.
Calling for the destruction of mostly civilian targets by all possible military means is a war strategy for you? People who live in these same buildings become victims, because if you haven't noticed, hundreds of them have lost their lives in the past months precisely because of this same strategy.
p.s. Once we have received the admin's response, the topic can be closed.
I'm honestly surprised that someone like you wants to sweep this under the rug as soon as possible, but you obviously have your reasons for doing so...

Believe me, if you had the sound of missile strikes sirens pounding your psyche day after day for almost 5 years (and some sirens can easily go on for 10-20 hours non-stop), you too would have developed a gag reflex to anything related to Russian trolls.
