I need an introduction for my thread, and your input would be greatly appreciated. The best explanation will be included in my official thread.

My question is actually about the thread, will it only be about cryptocurrency glossary only or will contain more information, because if it’s actually only about glossary then I don’t think the name should be anything related to “why you need to learn about bitcoin terms” except if the reason for why is actually included.

If the thread is just abbreviations (glossary) then the name should simply be “cryptocurrency glossary” and this means all terms will be capture and explained there.


This is not also under play your effort in contributing to learning of cryptocurrency but I think there are lots of glossary threads and articles already on the forum although there is room for modification which I might think is what you wish to do

Is that what you mean? Because judging by the spreadsheet you just show above, it's indicating a totally different thing all already. As it looks like you are planning to compile a list of cryptocurrency Glossary, and we have several thread about it already.

Hence, my advice will be if you want this thread to be a discussion thread about "Why do you need to learn cryptocurrency terms?", then I will advise you delete the picture of the spreadsheet above.

However, for me, the reason why I think people need to learn about cryptocurrency terms is so that they can be able to understand and know what they are talking about when such term is been used during a discussion or conversation.

Terminology is not a strange word though, just like Crypto currency, every other profession have their terminology which is one of the things that makes such field interesting and unique in it's own ways.

Learning terminology eases the stress of long explanations and cuts long statements also. It makes communication easier for professionals in the same line of operations or field. Sometimes, it helps to code meanings when in public places keeping one safe from exposing themselves.

It is nice you have compiled this list for the audience to view and learn from. I know it will be of help to the Crypto community at large. For this reason I checked the website website to see what you have done so far and I really commend your efforts but I will like to make some input, while I was checking the words one for one, I noticed some meaning does not really tell what the words are, you kind of explained them in a referencing way which is not too clear and a newbie would still not understand it that way. Maybe you can still review some statements you have made there and make or precise.

I am updating every entry to make it appear human-readable based on the prompt; there is a lot of glossary online, but some explanations are not fully explained or explored, so I came up with one that explores every term to the fullest. Sorry, but I can only confirm this. The first idea that came to my mind is ask an AI and use the prompt

Produce a glossary of 200 terms from A - Z about cryptocurrencies. Explanations should be short and concise.

A static glossary is even worse than using AI because with AI you could narrow down the topic range, ask for further elaboration on a specific term or explanation thereof. You can do so many things to manipulate a glossary created by AI that you can serve your own interest in the very best way possible.

I recently had a look at my bookshelf and I still have a few encyclopedia books, they will end up in the trash the next time I tidy up. They are static, explanations don't evolve in light of new findings, and AI is just superior in probably any way. If you don't understand an explanation, you add "ELI5" and it gives you the simplest of simple examples to demonstrate what a term means.

Your intention is appreciated, but AI has changed the environment for people who usually like to sit down, create things, and be creative or productive in general. There is no way around dealing with AI and undersanding its limits in order to decide where you can still add value. A glossary is no longer a value gap.

The guys who wrote the books about bitcoin in the early days, around 2015, I doubt they would still do it today. Those books would probably be treated as collectibles by some people and not as must read items to get a better understanding about cryptocurrencies. The same goes definitely for a glossary website. If I had to choose between using AI that I can manipulate in whatever way I want and visiting your website, what would you recommend me?

I don't think its really important to learn about those things, but somehow its fun way to make our mind sharp towards those languages used by people since there are many times that scammers use so technical or confusing languages to scam people.

This can could still help newbies to understand those basic terms of volatility, blockchain, private key and liquidity. then they can possibly avoid those potential scams with this, since no one can mislead them towards wrong information and they can follow good discussion without guessing what other people talk about those matters.

Crypto is fast moving industry and sometimes there are people commit a mistake, because they don't understand those terms shared to them.

Finally someone who takes a post for its words and not for some supposedly hidden ill-minded attack on your idea.

I am in the same boat when I say that AI has changed the landscape for creative people. I like to be creative in several areas and I figured this has become much more difficult now to set yourself apart. This is why I don't think your idea is bad per se, but what you have in mind now, there is too much redundancy with what already exists. Maybe you could focus on a niche, terms that you know are not that common and if a person wants to look them up, they could find your website. Otherwise your place is drowning in the endless information flood of the Internet.

Just an encyclopedia for terms that have been spelled out and explained back and forth, I don't think you will get traffic. If anything, I believe it should be a place that people remember because you have info that other places don't have.

I have visited your project and it is a good one tbh. There explanations are mild and cool to understand. This will be a very good help to people taking baby steps in crypto. It will be a great stepping stone.

One downside is that it is not a project experts will be needing often, unless for research purposes. This is because these terms are hardly coined. We can stay for half a decade and no new term is coined. We wait for a soft fork to get a new term in the industry.

Thanks for dropping by, bro. I am more surprised that it's available. I purchased it 7 months ago when I hatched the idea of creating a glossary, and I got a free script for that. I could settle for other extensions as long as it is the domain name cryptocurrencyterms, for SEO purposes.
