This is even an article from December 2024 so it was already decided back then. While the places are already determined I don't think it is possible for USA to be the host again next time.

I only hope that we don't see the rumored 64-team format. Even the current 48-team format has some points that can be criticized. Like the number of European teams isn't enough to me as it is only 16.

Even 48 teams is too many; 64 teams would be a terrible idea. FIFA is just going to turn the whole thing into a money grab—that’s their only goal. The 32-team system was better.
Besides, if the number of teams increases, Europe's quota should go up too. In my opinion, obscure countries with no real football pedigree shouldn't be taking part in the World Cup.
