Changing the location of the next World Cup is highly unlikely. I can imagine that planning for infrastructure and facilities is already going on in Morocco, Portugal and Spain. Italy is still capable of playing independently, they have been four-time world champions, but they have a high chance of emerging as some of their stars in the next season, i.e. the next World Cup 2030. So Italy should never be considered weak, Italy will take a place in the next World Cup and create a situation that will surprise people.

Many national teams play much inferiorly than the main soccer leagues of the world. It's not possible that the world cup will be held consecutively at the same spot just because it's the United states. Donald trump has his influence but there are clear limit to it.

At the moment, UEFA as 16 slots for the 48-team format. For the 64-team format, I would say it would increase by roughly 1/3rd, which means 5.33. It can either be 21 or 22. I will go with 22, since UEFA is the hosting confederation for the 2030 edition. Now let's look at the teams ranked 17th to 22nd in the UEFA qualifiers for the 2026 edition.

Ranked 17th to 20th: Italy, Poland, Danmark and Türkiye.

Ranked 21st to 28th: Northern Ireland, Wales, Ukraine, Albania, Slovakia, Romania, North Macedonia and Republic of Ireland.

Actually, I thought that FIFA decided to host this year's world cup in USA, Canada and Mexico because they are close to each other, and that Trump doesn't need much crowd in the US but it seems that am wrong. One thing I’ve noticed is that politics seems to be becoming more visible in football, I know it has always been there but now it’s so much visible. The global economic conditions are so harsh that many countries are facing financial problems, such as growing national debt. Hosting the World Cup is not always profitable because in most cases, countries spend more than they realize. Qatar and Saudi Arabia are oil-rich nations with minimal economic challenges, so they were able to host the competition alone.

FIFA just started the 48-team format, and there were some observations and challenges.
