AI dealers — the next big change for online casinos?

Why would anybody be tipping a robot? I don't see a single reason. Afaik the point of the tipping culture is hospitality provided by the service person, now what 'extra' do you expect from robot!?

In certain regions, tipping becomes a habit so they will throw in some chips irrespective of who is on the other side. I am not very familiar with online live games, even though it is kind of very popular in our country and now it's not.

AI dealers can become so realistic over the period of time, so yeah it is a possibility that table managers will no longer have jobs, and one more to add to the list the AI will potentially replace in the future.

Just like here in our country, many dealers didnt receive a better compensation and often depend on tips from their clients who win. So basically, if a regular client wins, it is automatically for them to reward their agents with monetary tip which is two or even three times higher than the agent's monthly salary. that means if AI replaces our human casino agents, possible it could lead to widespread layoffs due to redundancy of work, which would cause a serious economic problem, especially at this time when seeking or having a better job hiring is difficult to find and secure. Losing these jobs would make it significantly harder for many individuals (including us) and families to meet their daily expenses and financial obligations in their life.

I also dont get how AI dealer would imitate emotions while talking. All the AI that I talk to speak in same calm manner. When talking to bots or AI (usually it is support or my questions to AI) I quickly get used to its same tone. It is easy to notice that you are speaking not with a real person. And that always disappoints me.

Yeah, that's true. We already know the tone of those AIs, and it gets easier to notice when you hear them all the time. There's a noon-time show here in our country which uses AI in most of their programs, and you will always hear the robotic way they talk. It comes from the computer, and it will be difficult to mimic real human speech, so it is noticeable.

But back to the point. I don't understand why a dealer will lose his/her job just because the gambling owner wants to pay less. The gambling industry is so damn big in this era, and profits are off the roof. They don't need to get cheap with it. Dealers who could really make their gamblers happier and make them come back because of them should stay the same.

But I admit I enjoy dealing with people; interacting with a real croupier is pleasant because it creates the feeling of being in a brick-and-mortar casino (something prohibited in my country) and also provides some company during a night of betting.

This can be a split for me because there will definitely be gamblers who like where AI becomes a dealer especially those who do not like a lot of talk and silence but on the one hand there will still be gamblers who do like to be in the crowd because some gamblers play in casinos because they also like direct interaction and service because if only gambling accompanied by AI in the casino then they can still play games on the site should be because it is not much different (although maybe the pattern is different but looks the same).

I have never visited a casino but if indeed I have the opportunity to play in a casino then of course I also want to feel how it is served directly in the gambling that I do so that when it is replaced with AI then there may be a consideration because why go all the way to the casino when we are only treated to AI as a service although maybe it will also add to the experience but the excitement may be a little less.

When playing live casino, I prefer the real dealer because he shows real reactions and does not reply to the player's messages and the way he serves the cards seems completely realistic. And the players can easily accept the cards they get fairly. But in the case of Ai dealers, there may be a doubt in the mind that the cards are random or cheating. To be honest, if real human dealers were replaced with AI dealers, I would stop playing live games. I play live Blackjack a lot. I think human dealers are fairer there. Also, when someone else shuffles cards in front of the camera, everything looks real, which would be difficult to accept as live and realistic if AI were to replace it.

There is no way you'll know the difference between AI and human dealers, they'll all respond the same way except you are told whether it's AI or not, but the problem I'm seeing with companies especially casino ones are the steps taking by their managers to replace human based jobs with AI, it's frustrating someone who had thought of securing a job forever to go broke home. It's unfair.

Maybe a new gambler that's new to gambling will be tricked into thinking that AI dealers are the same as  humans but there is always going to be some differences in their manner of speaking. Even foreigners that can not speak English very well would not speak like AI, that is why it is very easy to know when you are dealing with an AI. AI lack emotions like humans and that's why they are robot. The reason why AI dealers are becoming more popular is because casinos are looking for a way to reduce cost. Do not be angry at AI if they are taking your job and do not be entitled to a job because no job last forever but instead use the opportunity to increase your skill and chances of getting another job.

As much as I like the use of AI, I also detest seeing it applicable in some areas that are not meant to be, this is why the use of AI must not be abused by any actor as long as we are going to be honest on using it, AI should not replicate human rule or serve as an alternative, except if this will be boldly declared and everyone is aware of an interaction to be with AI.

I wonder why anyone would think that it will be difficult to spot an AI dealer when we see one. Now that AI is gradually taking over, I have seen movies made with AI, music sung with AI, dance steps enabled by AI, AI voice-overs, and many other things done with AI. No matter how perfect they try to make it, there are still ways to know that it was AI.

I personally have not had the experience of seeing how AI dealers carry out their jobs, whether they are doing better than humans, whether there is no difference, or whether the differences are very obvious and clear. However, nothing beats natural human interaction with gamblers. I will always prefer humans to AI.

You can tell though. The human spirit and quick relevant wit is hard to copy

That's a good one. In nations like ours, physical casinos are unavailable or only available in few states, so live dealers at online casinos help a bit with feel, albeit no real substitute really but with AI dealers, this 'bit' will be lost as well.

The lack of physical casinos in India is on officially there, quite a few shops and stores are there running an unorganized betting market too. Indeed the brick and mortar casino is there only in "water-based" because the law said no "land-based" casino, so they went with water instead. I have seen they throw gala parties, with drinks and women, lot of dancing and singing on special occasions.

Imagine these people going out of business if AI dealing and AI based content would be consumed by the gamblers. Repetitive work will eventually be taken over by AI agents but lets see how this industry progresses and the lack of human interaction would continue to increase.

The reason why I sometimes play with live dealers are their reaction and sense of humor. I like sometimes to make fun of a dealer in a positive way. Sometimes you see those dealers who have been working night shift for hours already, and funny to see how some of them fight with sleep We both laugh when I joke about sleeping Telling jokes or something funny is what makes people play with live dealer. AI would not understand joke or would not react natural or sincire if he hears one.

Yes, this is the worst thing that we fail to identify which casino is real and which is a scam, as a result, no matter how hard we try in gambling, we lose in most cases.
Many times, while gambling with a live dealer, it is seen that how many gamblers have won and how much money they have won are displayed on the screen. And seeing them, most gamblers get the motivation to bet more.
Despite having so many records of fraud, the rate at which people are getting addicted to online gambling day by day is really worrying.

He is talking about bot as a player and live person as a player and you are talking about fake and scam casinos, I don't know what is the corelation between these two things and even in this thread the matter you are discussing is completely irrelevant.

If they would be having that full transition then whether you do like it or not as a gambler then it would really be that up to you and for sure there would really be those doubts about having AI as a dealer on which it would really be talking about fairness but if this would turned out to be that somewhat giving the same experience on what a real person would be able to give then there's no surprise that it wouldnt rreally be that long that it would be that become a trend. So it will really be that up to you whether you would jump into other casinos just because you dont like for those AI dealers out there. Somewhat so far its good to see that we do have this kind of option, but i havent been able to test it out though.

It works until that it doesn't.

The problem with AI dealers stems from its very essence- which is the lack of any kind of interaction with the crowd. Of course, we expect anything that is primarily driven by algorithms which shows no interaction whatsoever with these platforms. However, if you can incorporate any kind of human interaction with the players, this would add at least a humanistic approach which can potentially make it more relatable.

We all interact with our computers on a day-to-day basis. We are already stuck in the advent of technology where human interaction can be seldom with others. Now that you are entering a platform that breeds human interaction and communication, might as well make the most out of it!

I am not against use of AI, I have no problem with some casino using AI dealer while others continue to use human dealer.
What I care about is transparency

If it is clearly stated from the beginning that I am playing with an AI dealer then I have the right to make my decision.

Actual problem begins when casino intentionally makes AI appear human in order to build trust or emotional attachment.
If a casino does this, it is no longer entertainment. Rather, I would call it behavioral manipulation.

Another aspect is incentive. You know, AI dealer will never get tired. It will be able to keep us engaged 24/7 and can also change its conversation by analyzing our behavior. So I would not call it just dealer replacement. Rather, it is player retention optimization. So if a casino uses an AI dealer, they should definitely be transparent in disclosure.
