Hello friends, today marks a day of a really tough decision I had to make.
To gamble, or not to gamble.

Recently I've been going through too much chaos in life, and have to set my priorities straight.
I was losing too much when I gambled, always chasing losses, getting furious when I lose, so I made a decision to quit.
I've closed both my Stake and Roobet accounts, which are the only 2 online casinos I play at.
I can't lie, it was fun, it was thrilling, I've had ups and downs, but after looking at my wager and statistics for both sites, I've lost too much when I could've been saving that.
I have quit gambling, and am now focusing on my business and to save up my money.

I have read all of your replies, I'm surprised my thread got some attention.
Thank you all for your responses, I will address a few questions here.

"Why did you close your accounts and not self-exclude"?
I decided to quit entirely and did not want to give myself an option to come back to gamble.

I do offer web development and provide slot games for casinos, this is my business I am focusing more on.
I don't believe I'll have any issues stopping myself from gambling, I see this as "switching sides", because now I am the house edge.

This is true, it's very hard, I even tried closing my Roobet account a couple weeks ago, and I failed to commit back then.

Whether it is a good decision completely depends on you. From a neutral perspective, I would say it’s a good thing that you realised you were making more losses through gambling. However, stopping it suddenly can be really difficult.

What you could have done instead is gamble within limits. For example, rather than playing casino games, you could place bets on sports matches. I am not saying you should bet on every sporting event but rather choose a match, analyse it carefully, and then decide whether to place a bet.

The reason I am suggesting this is that you can’t build wealth simply by saving money. Money grows by investing it or by taking calculated risks. If you’re able to take calculated risks and remain disciplined then occasional sports betting may be an option. Otherwise I would say that quitting gambling altogether and focusing on your business is the ideal choice.

Congratulations on your decision, but be careful now. Just because you've closed your accounts at two casinos doesn't mean you can't open another one somewhere else and start gambling again. You have plenty to choose from.

You have the right to make your own decisions. You probably made your own decisions. But don't forget that there are countless options besides Stake and Roobet. If you suddenly remember and then register somewhere else and start playing, then the situation you are in now will be the same. Nice one OP! When you sit back and re-evaluate your financial standpoint and pinpoint what is making you financially and mentally vulnerable, then cutting it off, that's a really huge step to growth.

Good for you on making up such decision rather than on quitting or stopping literally just because you dont have more money or you have lost everything. This is the best thing to do on which if you've seen those loses then realize that you should have saved that instead rather than on gambling then you had definitely opened your eyes and thats something that you should stood your ground and never go back. Actually its easy to say but the real challenge on here is on how you would be able to sustain that urge on doing gambling specially if your impulsive feels will trigger out and you would neglect out those loses that you had realized earlier. Good to know that you can finally identify the cause of your anxiety and loses, which is gambling you have decided to put an end to it, without further talks, I just want to point out what I noticed in the above-mentioned next step.

I assume it must’ve been very difficult for you to take such a decision, anyways I don’t think it’s about closing your accounts, it’s about total abstinence, you can always reopen your accounts again, however what must have lead to this decision is about having looses, gamblers do encounter losses when gambling, but you could’ve created a balance for yourself by gambling with what you can afford to lose, there are some gambling losses that you will encounter and it would seem like you’ve gotten yourself into a mess.
