Out lives are very busy and generally we don't have much time to spare.
So when it comes to gambling and also watching sport, I'm wondering if some people would consider it a sacrifice to watch the matches of a team they can't gamble on. For instance many people used to watch local leagues and love to support the team of their neighborhood although it's not an A league team and betting on it is not allowed due to the non competitive nature of the tournaments on the local level.

Today with the rise of sports gambling, I'm wondering if more and more people are considering limiting their watch time to just games they can bet on.

I do not really understand what you meant by " a sacrifice to watch the matches of a team they can not gamble" it is not compulsory that a gambler must gamble on any watch they are watching or any match they can watch no. if i am watching a match i do not bet on, that is because i want to... and i love to watch since i like anything football so it isn't a sacrifice to me maybe you can see it as... i mean that is your own perspective i can not say for sure that you are wrong to call it that. This year world cup, there are lots of matches i did not bet but i still watch because i love watching football and it is always interesting though some can be very boring and once i see it boring i will leave because i want to be entertained.

There are those like that. They only find time to watch games they bet on. Infact, them watching match depends on there bet. If they don't bet, then they don't watch. So it's possible that some people only limit themselves to what they bet. But we know that there are some people who don't bet, but they are football loving persons. So, they watch matches that they feel brings them joy and that football feeling and togetherness.

Personally, I was a football lover, and I had to watch matches even without betting. I would watch the EPL games, Spanish Laliga, world cups, nations league and so many more football tournament. There was no restrictions at all to watching football because I loved soccer. Then later, I started gambling and it became more serious and emotional since money was involved. I believe that there are people who just watch matches because they are betting and perhaps only watch matches they bet on while there are those who just watch matches because they naturally love football and love watching it's action

Also It could be that many people used to only watch their favorite teams or big tournaments, but after starting betting they start watching matches that they had no interest in before, because then the outcome of their bet becomes more important than the beauty of the game.  However it is also true that not all sports fan are gamblers. Watching football is fun. But at it stands now, it seems there's a psychological shift from watching football to betting only on sports you want to watch. If it keeps going on like a that, the person doing it will feel something is wrong with just only watching football without betting. Local leagues don't get as much attention as bigger leagues, not many people actually do watch it. I feel that's why it has low watch rate and why there's like low betting rate on them. Besides, the elite are the once that determine which sport can be bet on. Depending on the value of the team.

This is far from the truth... I know many people who watch games and do not bet on them. Especially older generations (like +40). I know they follow different sports, leagues, or championships, and they watch all that because they like it... they watch sports channels, and that's it. They don't feel a need to gamble... they simply enjoy watching/following sports.

Sports betting platforms started to include even the local level tournaments if it has good number of viewers, and they just need people to bet on it and it doesn't matter it is an international game or a school-level game. I don't even bet on the games that I sually watch because I feel it can affect my watching expereince but others might tent to enjoy the stress or the anticipation while watching the game that they can or already bet on.

Despite the rise in sportbet gambling everywhere today, doesn't mean that one can not watch games they don't gamble on. It is not even all gambler that prefers watching a match they bet on because of overthinking and to avoid hepertention.They would prefer to only check the outcome of the match than to sit and be watching it. There are people that love watching match naturally and they don't need to bet on a match before they watch the match and they won't see it as a sacrifice but rather entertainment.

It's a normal thing, not all the teams I watch that I bet on. Although I don't know about you, I don't know if you have done this before. There is this particular team you usually bet on, and ever since you start betting them they have not Loss before. Let's say this week they meet with a strong opponent, and it happens that Thier opponent is more stronger than they are. Having know this are you going to bet on them regardless? I'm sure the answer will be no" because you wouldn't want your winning streak to terminate from Thier. But you will like to watch them play because it happen to be a tough match so that's it.

Watching matches that you don't bet on is very important because you don't only watch for betting sake but for entertainment and to reduce your daily stress, in entertainment you just enjoy the game without any financial loss which gives you rest of mind without thinking of the money you will be losing unlike when you have to  place a bet, it also makes you feels ease as it gives you off from work and worry.

I think I will use myself as an example. I enjoy watching soccer games, even the ones I didn't gamble on; for me, it's something I enjoy doing, and I do it whenever I have time to do so. I don't think I'm the only one, too, because I know of so many of my friends who watch football just for the thrills that the game brings.

Football games can be really fun, especially when there are major tournaments like the just-concluded World Cup. Football is even used by many people as a cure for depression because the excitement that you get when you watch it makes you forget and keeps you engaged throughout the time of play .

I see myself as a person who actually does not have much time to spare and I can totally agree on what you say about people not having enough time to watch matches in which we don't have any stake on.

I used to follow leagues and watch matches with no intention to bet on them, that was back in the day when I was in college. But nowadays, I don't have enough time to spare and I would only pay attention to games where I have money on.

The proliferation of betting providers and bookies on the internet has only encouraged people to pay attention to matches for the sake of money. That is a reality, where we like it or not.

I used to be like that and only focus on the teams i'm betting on, but now i'd even watch other matches because I wanted to get familiar with most of the teams in the league. At one point there will be weeks with a rough schedule and it'll come in clutch when the stake gets higher near the end of the season.

With our local leagues, to me it just doesn't hit the same as the popular leagues. I also followed them for a few seasons, but slowly I lost interest and moved on to the ones I enjoy the most.

And again gamblers can decide not to bet maybe due to the fact that they don't have money to gamble for the day or week, and then decide to watch them play. And I feel it's even going to be more fun than when they stake with money because they have nothing to loss the only thing they are expecting is for thier favorite team to win and even if they didn't win the match, it won't change anything. Although as for me I don't enjoy watching a team that I don't bet on, I see it as a waste of time unless I don't have anything to do. But even as that, I usually feel bored while watching a team I don't bet on.
