As we take the bitcoin like any object we have. For example houses or cars , etc..
Can we lease it? Can I lease my bitcoin and get money back on it?
In other alt coins like solana, we can stake it. So why can't we invent some technique to be capable of bitcoin leasing?

Bitcoin is a proof of work coin (like Monero, Litecoin, Dogecoin, etc.). Unlike Solana and ethereum which are proof of stake coins. It's not the same thing. You can probably do something similar using wrapped bitcoin on certain platforms but that's not something I'd recommend doing.

It's your Bitcoin so you can do what ever you want with it, if you want to lease your Bitcoin to someone all you have to do is find someone that wants such offer reach and agreement and go ahead to do your thing.
But what ever becomes the outcome is definitely your cross to carry, you can do so much with your Bitcoin, you can think and invent any strategy you want but the risk is all yours so is the benefit that comes out of it.

I think the closest is about putting it on the "earn" feature of the centralized exchanges because you earn interest from it. That's not directly you're leasing or lending it to them although the concept is the same. The risk is that you don't have the control on your bitcoin when you do that. Going to the Lending and have your bitcoin borrowed and earn an interest from that but, should only be allowed to be done on reputable members but it's also risky. Because there were reputable members in the past that have been granted loan but still ran away and defaulted. The hassle free and most recommended thing to do with our bitcoins is to simply hold it.

Do you need these at all in bitcoin, why not hold the same bitcoin by yourself and go long-term in it to get more profits than you would if you leased it? leasing your bitcoin removes it from your custody and whatever happens is at your own risk. You cannot stake bitcoin, it uses Proof Of Work and not Proof Of Stake.
Bitcoin is built for self-custody and total decentralization and whenever you attempt such leasing, you're thinking and acting centralization and loosing control of your coins and that is not what bitcoin is all about.
You may as well loose your coins if you lease it via any platform and such platform crashes or the other party refuses to return your coins as agreed.

what's the essence of leasing your bitcoin instead of holding...your objectives to lease your bitcoin is for you to make a profit, but it's encouraging for you to not lease, due to the disadvantages and risk that's involved on it..To lease your bitcoin, theirs no different between it and someone who into ponzi scheme, because in bitcoin leasing you will be expecting a daily and weekly return as profit and most of the platforms that organise such operate as fraudulent.

There a few platforms where you can stake your bitcoin and get rewarded but the challenge js that they are all centralized which poses a risk of loss of your bitcoin. My recommendation is for your to simply hold your bitcoin in your wallet and allow it grow in profits with time. It may not give huge profits at some point but if you allow sufficient time, you will not only enjoy huge profits but will also benefit from anti inflation feature which bitcoin has.

Why going through the complicated process of leasing bitcoin that has to go along with getting the user information among others, the best practice is to own a bitcoin and not to lease, any earn it, own it but don't lease it, this will give you the maximum control and safety you needed over your coins, what bitcoin stand to present is privacy and decentralization and there is no how this can be achieved when leasing is introduced.

I think the mechanism is different from SOL, but if your BTC assets are already on an exchange that offers the service you're referring to, give it a try, but learn the rules first. Another option is to find an exchange with good capacity and reputation, or find a platform that offers the service you're referring to. Babylon Protocol seems to have one, but I haven't tried it yet.

Bitcoin is a proof of work and not proof of stake where you can stake coins. They mostly deal with delegators where people stake their coins to earn APY and some as APR depending on the rules, miners on Bitcoin don't have time to do that, there own work is to make sure that they confirm transaction if it's valid and include the transaction in the blockchain, this is why you can't stake and beside, the principles of stake does not make sense to proof of work.

There are some platforms that let lending and borrowing, they let you swap Bitcoin to other chain, like Ethereum there is Wbitcoin on the chain and it's peg to 1:1 with Bitcoin, after the swap you can get to either stake on any platform with Ethereum chain that supports staking or you may lend in Defi platforms where you get tiny fraction of interest for some month and a year.

Sometimes there are people who think, want to do staking to get a yield on the exchange, then with the aim that is also the same as holding bitcoin and after the high price he will unstaking bitcoin and sell it.
For me this is not a good theory, still keeping large amounts of bitcoin on the exchange is risky, especially now that some exchanges have announced shutdowns, I also see a lot of people on X complaining of stuck withdrawals.
For me it is clear, with the slogan Not your keys, not your coins. A self - contained, non-custodial wallet.

I've never heard of "Bitcoin Leasing" term before.
But I'm trying to understand what you mean. There are several paths you can try, but they are risky because you have to give up control of your Bitcoin.
  • Centralized services: you need to store your Bitcoin there.
  • Smart contract protocols: you need to convert your Bitcoin into another form (token).

This isn't advice, but no one is forcing you to be risk-free.

2 things come to mind from the OP

1.) The OP wants someone to borrow his Bitcoin and pay a percentage fee. The only way
that would work is if the person borrowing the Bitcoin can make a profit from that, otherwise
whats the point?

2.)The OP is willing to loan someone his Bitcoin - highly risky, at best there would be an
escrow involved but its advisable to retain full ownership of the coins rather than trusting
someone else.

As we take the bitcoin like any object we have. For example houses or cars , etc..
Can we lease it? Can I lease my bitcoin and get money back on it?
In other alt coins like solana, we can stake it. So why can't we invent some technique to be capable of bitcoin leasing?
I just did a quick search and discovered that there are several crypto firms that offer the services you are seeking. But I am not recommending or posting the link to anyone because I am not a fan of such services. You would have to do in-depth research to know how trustworthy these firms are. At least they should be registered in your country and backed by deposit insurance. Depositing your Bitcoin in a centralized platform is very risky.

I don't know what kind of urgent returns you want from your assets that you can't be patient for your Bitcoin to appreciate in a few years. Anyway, there are two banks in Gibraltar and Switzerland that offer the services you seek.

Although the OP used the word leasing it's bit different in the case of Bitcoin. Bitcoin cannot be leased or staked natively, as it is a Proof of Work network. However there are some ways to earn money from BTC that are actually created now, even though they are not part of the Bitcoin protocol.  On the one hand there is traditional BTC lending, where you lend your coins to a platform and they use it to give you a return. On the other hand there are some new protocols that introduce the idea of locking BTC and participating in the security of the PoS network.

So, yes there are services that can earn money from BTC now but it would be more accurate to call them lending rather than Bitcoin leasing.

Omegastar perfectly answer op question. BTC doesn't have reward to give you because there's no staking built in the network. It's miners that secure the network.

If Op understand the risk that involve with this, he wouldn't have ask for it. You're literally giving your coin away for a meager reward with the risk of losing it all. You will have to give up custody to lease your coin and if anything happens to the entity you lease your coin to, your coin is gone too. The reward is not worth the risk at all. It's a different case with staking SOL because you only delegate your coin to a validator, you still own and control the keys.

As many have already mentioned, you can't lease on-chain, but you can use other services.

You can lend your BTC to someone on the forum in the Lending board https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=65.0.

Or you can use exchanges like Binance, which also have different products that can give you an APR ranging from 0.17% to 106.3%.

But again, as many have said, all of this means you're willing to accept the significant risk involved in using these services because you would no longer have control of your BTC. So, it's always essential to DYOR and proceed with caution

I think the closest is about putting it on the "earn" feature of the centralized exchanges because you earn interest from it. That's not directly you're leasing or lending it to them although the concept is the same.

I agree, he doesn't have to feel that he's missing profits by just holding it because the appreciation of his holdings is much better and safer than to think of the little interest that he can earn from that 'earn' feature of any centralized exchange or some other platforms.

Bitcoin will give higher ROI than staking in a way the ROI from the earn will be insignificant.
I don't want to promise it but if it's about the profit, holding is better as per my experience in the long run and have a peace of mind.

As we take the bitcoin like any object we have. For example houses or cars , etc..
Can we lease it? Can I lease my bitcoin and get money back on it?
In other alt coins like solana, we can stake it. So why can't we invent some technique to be capable of bitcoin leasing?
As far as I know, it is not possible to directly rent out your Bitcoin, as you are referring to.

It is not possible on the Bitcoin network. It can only be done indirectly, using a third party. For example; you can see a service called Binance Loans that allows you to borrow or lend Bitcoin. However, I don't recommend doing so (just for information only).

By the way, even if you insist on renting it out (Bitcoin) directly to someone, you are at high risk of becoming a victim of fraud. Therefore, I don't recommend doing so under any circumstances.
