Yeah this thread is needed because the pinned threads is not directed mainly or only on this matter of using the search function before creating a thread. A lot of people don’t even bother reading all those informations or write up on the pin threads and that is why you see threads of what has been written recently being posted on the forum day in day out. My thread is directed and only for this issue, I believe everyone will see it, just by reading the title you will understand the message I’m passing.
Your explanation is non sense and it's like a fallacy.

It's more easier to read pinned / sticky threads than searching. With sticky threads, they can easily find what they want but only if they want to actually learn in the forum.

Your thread is not needed because there were sticky threads in the same board.

If you say you must write this thread because people don't read sticky threads, will they read your thread?
And there will be more similar threads about searching in the future. There are already many threads about searching.

This is to all newbies and old members too.
Threads are created in this forum everyday and they are on different topics concerning different things.
So before you create a thread use the search function to check if the thread you want to create has recently been created by another member.

For newbies who don’t know, your thread will be locked if it has recently been created and posted by another person.
So always use the search function in the forum to know if the discussion or information you want to create thread for has already been posted by another member.

Is better you use the search feature than to stress yourself creating thread only to have it locked, move to off topic or deleted.

Using the search bar while creating topic is very important, because is the reason why threads are being deleted, and makes someone less informative in the forum. When you create a thread that has already been created, no good response, and attention will be given to your thread instead people's response will be very discouraging to you because someone has posted similar topic. Searching for topics before posting keeps you updated about the forum, you know what has been posted or not, it makes people pick interest in your topic, and respond accordingly more especially when your topic is informative, and is one of the things newbies should know as they join this very forum.

This aspect of creating a thread within the community, it is very important and quickly necessary for all newbies or older members to take notes, in other to avoid your thread being locked, add to what OP have said earlier, your thread can't not only be luck when there is a familiar thread in the forum, moderator can easily luck your thread when the discussions is. not Bitcoin related and not adding meaning to anything or course harm than good, so it is a good thing that OP was able to find time in creating this wonderful thread in other to guide the newbies on how to go about thread creation in the forum.

Checking one section, you will see that some users create topics with the same meaning but with different names and words. I suggest that they search for the topic first and then look in the thread, as there are many user posts. If they don't find any, then they can make a separate thread.

I think they launched the sigban just because of them, as they did not add value, nor are they asking for help and solutions, they just flood the forum with irrelevant and useless threads. Therefore, they should use the search option first and then make a thread if it is very necessary to avoid flooding the forum.

Not only did sigbans start for creating unnecessary threads, we also saw how people spam to get money from campaigns. Their low-quality, repetitive and meaningless posts combined together have probably brought new attention to sigbans. If you go to the accounts of those who have been sigbanned, you will see how they may not have created unnecessary threads, but they have written 1 line of bad rhymes to get money from campaigns. You yourself will understand that they have been sigbanned not only because of unnecessary threads but also because of many other combined weaknesses.

I personally believe that as long as the question being asked is not something illogical or spam in itself or it isn't about something that has already been cleared and is available in the pinned threads, and it is something that a newbie cannot find anything about within the first two or three pages of the section where they are about to create the new thread, then it is all okay if they create a new thread and ask their question.

If the question has already been answered before and they couldn't find it, another member with more knowledge and experience can simply post the link and the newbie will find the answer or the discussion itself. At the end of the day, it's a forum, we can ask things, clear our doubts, and get knowledge from those who have more knowledge than us.

Just putting in some efforts should be enough, in my opinion. Of course, it is not good if newbies are doing stupid stuff, like creating threads to introduce themselves and say that they are a newbie and are here to learn and whatever; we all already know that, and we are not interested in knowing any of that. If you are looking for something specific that you are confused about and you haven't been able to find it, just ask us and we will help you out, and everyone should have this attitude towards newbies who are struggling to understand something.

This is a good advice because it is always the habits of newbies and some old forum members to create a thread without bothering to check if such threads has been created by other forum members. This will leads to either the thread being deleted or locked. I can remember making such a mistake and it really painted me after all the effort that was put in creating the thread, the good thing is I have learnt my lesson. So to avoid creating thread that has been created by others there is need to always make use of the search function before creating a new thread.
To use the search function ,I believe that it isn't that difficult. Imagine putting an effort and time to create a thread only for it to be deleted, because the thread has been created by someone else.
After making used of the search function and we found out that the topic has already been created, the only thing to do is to join the discussion and contribute your ideas. This will help the forum to look organised, because same thread or topics won't be appearing multiple times when others are searching for information.

I don’t think that’s a good approach. If newbies never created topics that already exist, this section of the forum would eventually become inactive.

I also don’t see a problem with creating a topic that’s been discussed before, as long as it’s not an extremely overused or cliché subject. There are always new members joining the forum, and they can bring fresh perspectives or updated information. Bitcoin and the technology around it evolve quickly, so discussions from a few years ago may no longer reflect the current situation.

In my opinion, allowing similar topics also keeps the forum active and encourages more participation. So I disagree with your point.
Yes, some newbies always get it wrong, they usually think that creating new topic is a criteria for them to show themselves as active members of the forum which is not right, you can be a newbie and get your informations without asking or creating your own thread; meanwhile they can use the search button, type that they wanted and they read the related topics and move on, it will be helpful and will avoid creating duplicate topics.

Sometimes, I do also think that creating some topics that has already existed before is necessary especially if the thread has been long and it couldn’t be found among the recent threads, using the search bottom can actually revive it, but bumping some threads look offensive for some users, if not there are old threads that are still active till date.

Really, most of the threads in gambling are similar, and it's been created by different users..And people do continue to make a suggestion that they have suggested before in the previous threads that similarly emphasizing on same thing...

Using search button is good, but it seems to me that some users intentionally create a similar thread in order for them to fetch or earn merit, because this thread you created pointing at using search button to check if what you have in mind to discuss, if it has already been discussed before or not..To be honest, it has already been discussed multuple times in this forum...

But you brought it to life due to massive threads that's been moved to off topic or locked based on lacks of research before posting...So it's important to read and observe the community before creating thread, why some users keeps creating unnecessary threads that have no impacts in the community due to inability to research...

Using the forum search will make it easy for you to locate the right thread to reply to, it will as well prevent duplicate topic creation, and it will also help you to learn more from different threads that have been created before now; having their experience can be a guided on the topic easily if they follow the discussion up that was discussed in the thread.
Furthermore, using the search function prevents your post from being deleted by a moderator due to duplicating the topic or writing something similar to the topic that already has an explanation. Let's take note of this to avoid our posts from being deleted.

Is better you use the search feature than to stress yourself creating thread only to have it locked, move to off topic or deleted.
It should always be implemented, but for the Forum search system is still limited and better advice than me you can search on the search feature in Bitlist,
it's more complete by being able to see the history of the topic you're going to discuss.

Is this topic needed while there are two pinned threads

Newbies - Read before posting
[Mega resources for newbies] Check here, find most of your need, before asking. The topic "[Guide] Searching effectively" is in this mega resources thread too.

OK, imagine that I am a beginner. I came to the forum with a question that concerns me; I saw your topic. Next step: can you tell me what I should do? You didn't provide any links or an explanation of how I should search, as the users below did, but all you did was "scare" the newcomer that his topic or question would be deleted.

Now you're saying that your topic is useful, right? Didn't you expect someone besides you, who is more hardworking, to explain to a beginner how to search correctly?

No offence, but imagine that I create a topic and write there, "Beware of scams; otherwise, you will be deceived." Will you learn a lot from this content??

Do you know that some new users do not actually create a thread because they want to pass and information, ask questions or learn. They actually create threads to make their username popular or known. Someone in this category will create a thread in any slight given opportunity.

Apparently you were talking about yourself, yes... I remember. You got famous, right?🤷‍♀️

When I was growing here, a few established members thought I wasn't a genuine newbie, and even till now. But that's not the fact and I have chosen how to react to it.

I was not mistaken since I did read the entire top.🤭

Not everyone can use the search box. But I don't see it as a problem though. Most at times this repetition of topics do help one to be encouraged. Like it serves as a reminder to other users who are too lazy to do their research respectively. It is sometimes not bad if a topic is being repeated in so many ways which different ideas could be seen as too important to ignored.
