I think next time check-in should be automatically be issued or no check-in at all. There will always be some folks who will really forget it. Besides, there was no clear rules to have a check-in 10 minutes before it starts. Yeah, that shouldn't be necessary next time, hopefully.

GG to those who played by the way, it's a feat I guess to make it to top 5 having a pool of talented poker players. See you again next week.

Well i take out one guy from the first tabble so is one KO for me, i submit it in the spreadsheet let me know if it correct.

One thing i dont like is the check in since im not sure if im gonna be on time always.

Aside of that it was a good first try, maybe alittle bit "long" at the start but if we increase the blinds so much is gonna be super short, so is ok.

I dont play Poker from a long time and only some individuals games. I have two bad hands or bad luck on them when i went with all and that takes me out.

@darbitmobilerecovery, happy to have you around and yes, your submission was correct and will be noted. I will prepare the summary sheet tomorrow and then you collect your knockouts per round and can see the total there over the coming weeks.

I will talk to Royse about the check-in as I was sad to see that @arallmuus got eliminated by the system. We will see what the best solution is and let you know. @arallmuus and @Teethow I am happy to register one knockout for each of you for this round, we will cover it. Since I don't know what the solution is for the next week yet as I first have to talk to Royse, this is an exception. I won't cover any missed participations in the future as now really everybody should know. Maybe we can remove it.

Everyone please keep in mind that knockouts will be collected first over the coming weeks and at the end of the qualifiers you can decide to either redeem them for a grand final ticket (if you got $50 worth of knockouts) or request a BTC payout.

It was you and other two guys who missed to check-in. On the pokernow page, tournament status shows if the check-in requires or not, so by default I did not think it needs to be mentioned. My intention to active check-in was to avoid sit outs. But I see now, it's causing some other problems. So here is what I am considering for the 2nd group round.

I checked the rules and it didnt say anything about I needing to check in 15 minutes before the game start. I was under impression that Im safe because I have requested my participation

I wasnt even an hour late or something, just 2-3 minutes and I thought its fine as long as I have requested my participation and paid my fee

Maybe you guys can whitelist some of us and allow us to check in like a day or two earlier? I think this check in thingy helps prevent multi accounting as well but some of us could get a whitelist or something I guess

I am not sure whether you might have overlooked this, but this is what Royse will now do from next round on:

- No check-in required

So next time means you register and as soon as Royse approves, you are checked in.


Edit: @Dump3er yes noted, but it's good if you submit multiple links when you have hands with two or more knockouts. Less room for error.

Hey @mitchr4,

the rule has been changed and ALL knockouts count. If you have more than those submitted, please submit those that are missing.

There is a total of 33 bounties and 5 bounties have still not been reported. I don't know who has knockouts, so please report them and keep in mind that your hand history is gone after 5 days unless you save it. Afterwards knockouts that haven't been reported can't be paid out. Please ignore if you don't have any knockouts.

What if the bounty is not up to the amount for booking a seat at the Grand final, is it possible to just pay the remaining part.

@mitchr4 your missing knockout has been added. We are now at 30 registered knockouts out of 33. I think one guy from telegram has one missing (but not yet registered), but that means 2 are still missing. If you want, you can double check.

Even though I finished in 20th place I feel I played well. Getting knocked out early actually gave me the opportunity to stick around and rail the rest of the tables. I managed to take some notes on a few players, which should give me a nice edge to leverage against them in the next rounds.
The first event was great for getting a feel for the tournament dynamic and learning everyone's styles, most seemed to play solid, a few are on the aggressive side and of course you have a couple of chronic bluffers. Great mix overall, really enjoyed it and looking forward to the next one.
Next goal: start racking up some bounties!!

This deserves my last merit

This is actually what Royse and I are trying to deliver. I got busted very early, which is unusual for me, but that's poker and everyone has a good chance to make some money here. The field has a solid size I think with around 35 players, depending on whether everybody is around on that day or not.

And you are right, some are on the aggressive side and what I still often notice is that bounties are very tempting on the one hand, but on the other hand it is sometimes not worth the risk, especially when two guys before you hammered the all-in button and you got like A10. Some players still want to go for it and risk it all.

Everyone as they please, good to see that so far all the feedback regarding the game was positive. A few minor things have been solved now, like the registration issue (because you had to check-in), but now you can just apply for the tournament and Royse will approve and you are good. Maybe to give a reason why the check-in made sense: in the past we had some players that did not take part eventually and then their clock is permanently running down for the entire tournament until they bust out because of the blinds, but that can take very long and if you have two players at a table, every time the clock running down for them, it is a horrible game experience.

Anyway, I am positive for the next five rounds and happy to see you around again. Oh and I am considering a heads-up series, will say more about it in a couple of days and we want to have a smaller Pot Limit Omaha round (see here for discussion on last pages), probably on Sundays. Feel free to chime in there if that would be for you, too? We are trying to figure out what a good buy-in would be for single rounds. Share your opinion if you like.

We all make mistakes. I had second look for the knockout bounties and I found one more. Can you please check, I think I made no mistake this time.

Im not familiar with pokernow as host or if there is an option to allow late registration but with percentage of chips reduction for every level? this could be another get around. Something alongside like everyone will be required to check in, late registration allowed but each level chip reduction 15% or something but thats gonna be an extra workload for the host

@arallmuus thanks for looking this up and yes, I think this is what we will do. I believe Royse was aware of it, but I know he never wants to be an asshole. He sent me a PM and said that he is sad for you, but he had to go with what the system does in that case, adding you manually wasn't possible.

I will talk to Royse about the level until which they can remain registered and then get kicked. You always have these edge cases, someone sends a PM and says he will be 2 minutes late after level 4 etc. I personally wouldn't have a problem with players sitting out completely for a while, but we had this very strange situation a while back when I think one or two players made it almost into the money just by sitting out. So going forward, I think we will define a blind level and then just kick those who are not present. We will mention this rule clearly in the OPs and hopefully everyone, or at least majority takes note of them, but we definitely need a rule. Royse has to push the kick-button then, which is never nice, but I hope for everyone's understanding then.

Me not sure either if I only KO'd three players last night or more because I was already extremely sleepy. I even said I hoped Round 1 of this tournament wouldn't take 3 hours, but unfortunately it ended up taking the more than 3 hours. It was already past midnight here in the Philippines and the tournament still wasn't finished. Hopefully, something can be done to keep the rounds to around 2 hours at most.
