Bitcoin for transaction needs is a good choice, because it can be transacted to any corner of the world with ease. Next thing, it is multipurpose usable asset. So, when required it can be used for transaction and just sitting idle also grow its value in the long run which we can't expect with fiat. However the dependence on fiat still exists. For having bitcoin in our wallet we need fiat in our bank and further with the amount we were able to buy bitcoin and transact. So, we think that we're using bitcoin for our transactions, but the reality is different. One way or other we're making use of the banking for our transaction. Maybe in the long term this might have transition.

I think people want to be in control of their money and not anyone else or governments so whatsoever challenge(s) that come with that is only secondary. You owe a car, you don't say because there are car thieves and then refuse to give yourself the pleasure of owing your own car. I  chose Bitcoin because it gives me the opportunity of being in control of my money and I can use it anywhere in the world and you know that's not possible with fiat.

Yeah, no doubt about this. Using Bitcoin for sending or receiving money across the border or at the national level is a very fine medium. Many members here receive their payments as international users. And Bitcoin as a medium of transaction has been used for a very long time. I know about my country's traditional banking system; I haven't faced any kind of delay while sending or receiving funds only at the national level.

Bitcoin transactions are fast and I think if you use the Lightning Network to make fast transactions, it will ensure instant payments but note that Bitcoin payments are not free. You should know that there is a small network fee or miner fee to pay when sending Bitcoin, but investors have the option to choose how much they will pay.

I didn't actually get your point at the end of your post. What do you mean? It is true that we need to use fiat if we want to buy Bitcoin, but that's a different thing than actually sending the same amount to fiat to another country because buying Bitcoin with fiat is easy, but sending fiat from your country to another part of the world is the challenging step, and that is why we are talking about Bitcoin's use when it comes to cross-border transactions because it is easier and faster than using fiat for the same purpose.

When you go for sending a fiat transaction abroad, you will see that it will require a lot of verifications, you might even have to go through a bunch of paperwork, pay a lot of taxes and fees, and then still it will take days, or even weeks. However, if you do the same thing using Bitcoin, it won't take more than a few minutes or maybe even an hour to get more confirmations, but the point is that if both sender and receiver use Bitcoin, it makes things way easier.

I don't know, I think this is debatable considering it relies on what security measures a user has put in, and what kind of wallet you storing your bitcoins on( whether it's on a custodial or non custodial wallet). Security in the crypto world is a whole different ball game if you think about it.. imagine downloading a third party keyboard on your device only to find out later that your wallet i drained because that was a your source of compromise..like I said security in the crypto world is crazzy.

The fact that I have lived to see the Bitcoin network kind of break down when network was spammed with dust transactions to the point of pushing fees to over $100 per tx.. honestly I would say it's 90% reliable and only because we have other safeguards in place  today like RBF, Segwit BTC etcetera which makes it reliable

Oh man. You need to go back to Bitcoin class 101. I mean, you need to go back and learn about Bitcoin transactions very well. Bitcoin transaction is not free. It attracts a fee for sending a transaction across the Bitcoin network. The fee is collected by miners as an incentive to keep working on the network. However, in comparison with transitional banking, the fee is way cheaper.

This is why I have to say that although the transactions made with bitcoins are fast and reliable, it is not the preferred options for all forms of transactions.
Another scenerio where bitcoin is not suitable in my perspective for transaction is the use for payment for very little items that can easily be paid with cash.

I think it would be more prudent to say that Bitcoin transactions are cheap. But not free. Everytime you send Bitcoin, you have to pay the transaction fee. While this is not a problem for bigger transactions, for many small transactions it could become expensive. Which is why people hodl Bitcoin rather than spending it on coffee every morning. Most people love Bitcoin because they only have a few transactions each month and they still pay less in Bitcoin fees than they would with bank fees.
