Why do people prefer business over degree?

•Do you think a degree is important to run a business, or can skills and experience replace it?

A person does not need a degree to run a business. I am a businessman and I believe that a degree never helps anyone much in running a business. Business requires practical knowledge. The education system that exists in my country is of no use in our real life. Here, students only read books, memorize and take exams but do not learn any practical work due to which that institutional degree does not play much role in their real life.

•What would you choose: start a small business without a degree, or get a degree first and then start a business?

If I did, I am still studying but I started my business a few years ago without giving much importance to my studies. Now I have managed to establish my business at a standard place. If I had only pursued my degree first and not started my business, it would have taken me a few more years to establish my business successfully. I am never in favor of ignoring business and pursuing a degree. I am saying this considering the education system of my country but it may be different in different countries.

Why do so many people prefer starting a business over getting a degree?
Because a successful business can bring much higher income, while a job after a degree usually has a fixed salary. A degree takes about 4 years and costs a lot. A business can start with small capital and might grow 4 times in those same 4 years. Plus, many graduates still struggle to find good jobs.

A degree isn't a requirement to build a successful business, but it can be valuable depending on the industry. For instance, if you're starting a software company, a medical practice, or an engineering firm, formal education may be essential or highly beneficial. On the other hand, many businesses such as e-commerce, digital marketing, content creation, landscaping, or retail can be built through practical skills, experience, and continuous learning.

It all boils down to the situation or economy of the country. While opening a business without having a degree could lead to a great amount of profit, getting a degree is also necessary and essential so as to develop various strategies in ensuring continuous growth and investment with the right knowledge acquired through degree.
In some countries, degrees speaks volume when it concerns matters of good paying jobs, which some business owners may not be able to achieve within a specific period of time. And with such experiences combined with degree, one can decide to set up his/her business, but in nutshell all essential for someone to go into.

Doing a good business can guarantee a financial independence especially when the trader have strategy that will help increase the annual profits on a consistent mode. The education sector is collapsing gradually due to the government not pumping enough money and providing infrastructures to help build a a future in education where students can create jobs by themselves after school instead of searching for jobs and who is going to employ them.

The mentality of looking for a job after college need to be abolish because this is making students dependent on what the government is going to provide for them and most are not ready to build businesses that will compete on standard of creating solutions based on what they have learnt in school.
