Not surprised that there is match fixing in smaller sports leagues in countries likes this Some of the players are earning $500/month so this really is nothing out of the ordinary
Yes, and sometimes the players don't even get their paychecks. Sometimes it's not even about money but pressure and threats that get the job done for the punters. Imagine they threaten a player to lose the game or play bad otherwise, their family would be destroyed, and in some places these fixers can actually do that to set an example for the others. I agree with the above comments that the biggest and most crucial part of this entire thing is the people who fix these games, rather than the player who is merely a toy for these mafias. Once the real criminals are caught and punished, they will be scared to attempt such things in the future. Right now, the only thing that's ever touched in this entire scandal is the player who agreed to fix or succumbed to the pressure. Then new players come, and the chain keeps working. That makes the whole situation that much worse I can't fathom working and then not getting paid for it; even a delayed paycheck is undesirable.

A proper investigative panel needs to be set up to dig into this… without any fact accusations like this can land them in court which I believe no one wants besides, it is just the right thing to do.
Match fixing is what kills most league and makes to continue remaining small. They authorities need to do something about it.
Still setting up the investigations panel? There should already be such things that exist earlier than now, and their duties should focus on trying to make sure there is no such thing as match fixing, and even when one happens, they can fish out those involved and make sure they are penalized instead of allowing the punishment to get to those who don’t have a hand in it. Allegations of match fixing is one thing and having a capable investigative team to look into it and hand their report to an investigative panel will ensure fairness to the parties involved so that justice would be served, if their is a mistake or impartiality in the investigation it would mean punishing innocent players. If a thorough investigation is carried out and it is found out that any players and officials were involved in match fixings then they should face the full weight of the law as a warning to others that might want to follow their footsteps. I don't know how far the authorities involved have gone with their investigation, they should know that justice delayed is justice denied, let them do the needful for the reputation of their league.

If the investigation panel has not been set up yet then the judgement might not be fair and I think they should not be judged nor accused until it is actually confirmed that they are guilty of such act, I do not really understand what is happening now with the match fixing of a thing it seems to be getting common now in sport games, but what we do not yet know and can not decide is that if this league was truly involved in a match fixing what if they are innocent, but if truly they are involved in it then I think they have just ended up ruining their reputation but we seize to conclude if they are into it, until the panel carry out their investigation and I also hope the investigation will be done fairly and the right judgement will be passed because it seems everything is being tempered with now.

Every sport league already has on ground such body that is equipped by the governing laws of the league to look into any unethical conducts such as that of match fixing. What they do is to have external investigators to join in the investigation for more transparency and without victimisation. I hate leagues where match fixing are a thing because it's gamblers like myself that suffers from their actions which leaves me with undeserving loss.

Thats why i do really that avoid when betting on small leagues on which match fixing or rigging up is that very common because these games arent that usually being getting that attention and thats why it wouldnt be noticed it out unlike when you do bet on bigger leagues then its unlikely for it to happen. It would only making up some noise specially if those gameplays turned out ot be obvious but if its not then it would be just that treat up some another day and thats something that could really happen and it doesnt exclude out MPBL Basketball league on PH.

Game fixing happens not only in Philippine, but this can be found on any settings as long as we have some greedy set of people that have inside information to take advantage of being involved in the system, though this is not as common as many may thought of, things like this could discourage gamblers from playing some specific leagues, by the time they begin to have the perception of mat fixing challenges like this, now I understand why some leagues are not being included on some casino platform.

Small leagues are an issue with match fixing and there's no country where these fixing of matches isn't going on in their small local leagues that are not that visible like the elite leagues. It's due to this that many gambling platforms doesn't include a lot of small sports leagues in their platform for gamblers to bet on. They understand it can be a bad business for them since some insiders could take advantage of those games fixing to hit a jackpot on them

Yes, by the way, it's an interesting observation: many leagues are indeed unlisted by reputable bookmakers. This may be due to frequent scandals and investigations into unethical or criminal behavior by individuals associated with football teams in these leagues. If we're talking about the poorest leagues, teams, and players, it's important to understand that their revenues are limited, but their expenses are high and obvious. In such cases, teams face a dilemma: either retire from professional sports and keep it purely as a hobby, or try to reconsider their stance on match-fixing.

Serving the players with red cards and a permanent ban if match fixing was surely discovered is a harsh but needed course for such occasions.
What I'm wondering is who were the final benefactors of this move? Usually there's some big boss behind match fixing like tram owners or even in cooperation with gambljng site owners.
Do who's really here to discover these people? Will the prosecutors do anything or is it going to be only players getting trouble?

I tend to believe such stories for the simple reasons that even much bigger leagues in the world have been found to fix matches. Unfortunately this will continue to happen despite many punishments and control being put in place still the greediness of people will far more outweigh it. I was watching a game of football and not basket last week and the referee clearly impacted the game with his decisions yet no punishment from UEFA or anything.

red card? this is basketball. What I'm wondering is who were the final benefactors of this move? Usually there's some big boss behind match fixing like tram owners or even in cooperation with gambljng site owners.
There’s no need for cooperation with the gambling site. As long as the sportsbook offers odds on that game, they can simply place their bets there and make sure the fixed outcome goes in their favor. That’s how game fixing normally works. The bookmaker itself does not necessarily need to be involved. Do who's really here to discover these people? Will the prosecutors do anything or is it going to be only players getting trouble?
it was obvious thats why its discovered... most likely the punishment is just to ban them in the league, not to put them in jail. ( unless they'll admit)

This really depends on the regulation of the country, and here in the Philippines I don’t think we have very strong laws specifically dealing with sports betting or game fixing. It is also hard to convict people unless there is solid evidence, so most of the time the league itself just bans the players involved because they have their own rules and authority to do that. Unless the government creates clearer and stronger laws for this, sports fixing can continue to be a problem. And honestly, I don’t think this only happens in small leagues, even in the PBA there have always been suspicions about it.

This is one of the major challenges that our local leagues are suffering from. Their salaries are too low and they are not being paid frequently on time. Sometimes they have to stage a direct or indirect protest before they receive what legally belongs to them. I agree it's unfair treatment and may push them to do anything that'll bring more money into their pockets. But, I still don't consider this as a valid reason to engage in dishonest behaviour. If they feel the salary is too low, they can easily quit and try somewhere else. There are few cases of match fixing in major leagues too and salary is definitely not their problem so I think it's more of mindset.
