We live in a word where every blame is channeled to the government and the economy but we don't even pay attention to how people are living their lives. Just as you rightly said, many youths today are looking for a quick wealth, that is why you see scammers scattered all over the internet. Many people no longer believe in dignity in labor, almost every youth is looking for a short cut to make quick wealth. The mentality of the youth have been corrupted such that they think that doing legit works is a waste of time.

The world has changed. Today, only having skills or being highly educated means nothing if you don't have connections and/or you can't promote yourself. Today, the attention is everything. Are you good at marketing yourself and your skills? Connection is very very important, to me connection can actually lead one to the right audience. The truth of theatter is that the economy of many nation is getting harder and tougher, it has become survival of the fittest. Since we know all this and beyond every reasonable doubt survival has become extremely difficult, all we need to do is yo be creative, creativity has become the only chance of survival. I don’t think it is fair to generalize that the youth have become useless. It really depends on the country and the situation they are living in.

In countries with high inflation and corruption, opportunities are usually limited. Many young people are unemployed or underemployed, and some also grow up with a weak education system. I believe there's both an economic aspect to this as well as a mental aspect. The threat of poor economic conditions shouldn't be used to tempt young people into inaction and dissuade them from working, but it should never be used as a justification for crime or illegal activity. It breaks my heart when I see youths wasting their time instead of investing it. The high rate of drug, gambling, and other addiction ia becoming a problem.  Cheap hard drugs have become popular, making many talented or gifted youth unproductive. It is also a problem to see youths supporting bad leaders because of the small support they get from those in power.

Currently, it is easier to acquire a good skill than years ago. With a smartphone and data subscriptions, youths can learn different skills online. So instead of wasting time complaining, getting viable skills is better. These skills could even help them to get jobs in other economically sound countries. I would say it depends on where one lives and what kind of people and things they are surrounded with, and upbringing also makes a big difference in a person's life choices as they grow up. I actually partly agree with you and partly don't, because I agree that some people, whether they are young or grown, they don't try to do anything that might actually bring a change for good, they are either too lazy or always stay within their comfort zones when it comes to making a career or doing something in life. This means that they don't go above and beyond to achieve things in life, which is how it actually should be, because you won't make anything if you just sit at home doing nothing and expect everything to happen by itself.

With that being said, I don't understand why you said that what's stopping the youth or young people from getting a business. I mean, do you really think starting or getting a business is that easy? Going far or to obtain a great position in life is not as simple as it seems to be during school days. Everything in this life deal with connections. If you don't know any high rank members you will suffer before you get a job, and that’s even when or if you were able to secure one for yourself. There are so many youths who are ready to work even in the hard economy and work their way out while on the other hand, some are after quick money without minding how illegal it is. I somehow agree that world has changed. But I do not think that skills and education have become meaningless over the period of time. They are foundation for getting long term success. The difference is today, having qualification alone is not enough. Clients and employers all value communication and ability to present your work efficiently. So skills with self promotion should be combined together.

It could be true on some individuals, but not everyone of them has this kind of mindset. Others really rely or blame the government on whatever happens to them. Specially as you grow older, you want to have a lot of things from government, like free medicine and others. Obviously, the government hands is limited and mostly they work only on the poorest of the poor.

As for the youth, this is a very different times. We have social media that make them easy money and they thought that it could be their jobs to just put some video on the internet became famous and earn a lot of money. So when I read your thread saying that the youth have become useless, it made me think twice. If we generalize them that way, then what kind of future will the country have? They will eventually become the next workers, parents, and leaders.

That is why I don’t agree with calling the youth useless in general. Some may be irresponsible, but many are also struggling because of poor education, lack of opportunities, unemployment, and the situation in their country. Give them the right support and opportunity, and they can still become productive members of society.

I have to say youths these days lack the morals, courage and proper management of responsibilities, but same here, I don't agree as well addressing them as useless. That's very inappropriate term.
