PSV is a big name in the Eredivisie so it is not a surprise that they won Ajax. Ajax lost their glory in the Eredivisie some years ago and since then they have been unable to get back to their formidable state again. PSV is now the new Champions of the Eredivisie and from how they played Ajax today, am very sure that they will win the title again. I like teams who are consistent in winning matches especially when they meet another big team. But am not going to lie, Ajax tried in this match, just that luck wasn't their friend.

Ajax has made big mistakes, and they are still paying for their mistakes because now it's never been easy for them to have depth, like past players. They are not giving good performances against big clubs still in the 5th round of the season, but things are looking not good. They are having engagement in the Conference League, which is not good. The start of the season was slow for PSV, but now they are back on track and having good control.
Today AZ Alkmaar is having an interesting game against Heerenveen; most chances are they will keep their 100% record of this season. Currently Groningen is entertaining Twente at home. Still, this league has enough room for improvement for playing more challenging games.

It is impossible for Ajax to win the championship this year; they demonstrated this to all their fans yesterday.
AZ Alkmaar, Feyenoord, and PSV are playing excellent football in the Eredivisie.
PSV, in particular, is playing very impressive football.

AZ Alkmaar faces Heerenveen today. Heerenveen has suffered one defeat so far, while their home record consists of one win and one draw. Given that they lost to Zwolle on their home turf, AZ Alkmaar should secure a comfortable victory. I expect AZ Alkmaar to win by a wide margin.

The game started and it was supposed to be a game where Ajax would be very alert defensively, but unbelievably, after only 5 minutes they conceded the first goal. How on earth could they concede a goal so early in such a serious game? And the saddest part was the way the first goal conceded by Ajax was scored; it seemed like the Ajax defenders weren't focused on the game. Then came Ajax's goal, the game was tied, and I thought: " Okay, looks like I'm going to miss today..." Then Ajax had good opportunities to score the second goal, but the selfishness of the Ajax players prevailed, for example in this case:



They might think: " But that was the only case..." Unfortunately, there was another case, I'm talking about this one:



Egoism was Ajax's biggest problem in this game. Look at how that Ajax player shot; the ball didn't even come close to the PSV goalkeeper, and he could have passed it to another Ajax player who was in a very good position, maybe even scoring a goal. While Ajax had selfish players sabotaging the team, PSV played as a team, which is why they won this game. After PSV's second goal, there were a few minutes of confusion on the field, and when the game resumed, PSV scored the third goal.

Look. In the three goals that PSV scored, clearly the PSV players played as a team, and clearly the Ajax goalkeeper made mistakes. Honestly, I don't know what he was doing in that game. I may be wrong in my analysis. In any case, congratulations to PSV for the victory; this will be another season in which they will be champions.

PSV was clearly the better team in that game. I don't think that Ajax current roaster is enough to challenge for the title. The rebuild has been impressive but still no where on the level as PSV. I can't even count Feyernood as a serious contender this season because they are always inconsistent with their results.

Also wanted to ask; since AZ Alkmaar is the only team with 100% record this season. Do you think they can compete for the title?

Crazy things in Telstar - Cambuur game. Ronald Koeman Jr. scored 2 penalties, one of of it on 90+11 minute and earned draw for his team. What is crazy there - he is goalkeeper and he becomes first Eredivisie goalkeeper who scored more than one goal in game. Just watch it:

This is almost the final verdict for the season just after a few weeks. What are the chances that Ajax can put PSV to the test this season after this loss? I think the chance is literally nonexistent. In the season 24/25, it was probably as close as it could get, but the times that Ajax was dominating the league are long over. Losing 1:3 at home is not only a single lost match, but a serious statement for the whole season. I don't think any surprises can and will happen this year.

I wouldn't call verdict just after 5 rounds. Yeah, things doesn't looks great now, but it's way too early.

This year they're looking different - more experienced players who played on good level and finally they found right coach IMO. Not saying that they will fight for title this year, but things shouldn't be that bad for them as in previous seasons.

I think they're capable to be in fight for significant part of season, but I don't believe they can become champions. Today they had very difficult game with Heerenveen, they won it 2:3 and remains with perfect record.

With the dominant display PSV had against Ajax it’s clearly evident that PSV is on course to winning their third Eredivisie title in a row. Ajax hasn’t been in a good run for challenging the title for the past few seasons now, last season they weren’t even the runners up. Az is looking sharp at the start of the season but I doubt if they can mount any serious title challenge against PSV Eindhoven, Ajax signed some really good players this season to improve their squad and we’re beginning to see some really impressive performances from the new signings and it’s just a matter of time before they go back to their winning ways.

That wasn't of course meant in the most literal sense, but those who are following the Eredivisie know that this is a pretty strong sign or indication of how this season will go. There isn't really a team that could challenge PSV other than Ajax and if they lose like that, who else is supposed to compete with PSV?

Sure AZ is looking very good right now, but they are usually not a team that can keep up form like this for a wholes season and in order to let PSV feel the pressure, you need winning streaks.

As for Ajax in specific, it is just not good again that they messed up their early season. Recovering from this is tough and I can imagine they have quite low confidence as they are not this top notch team they once used to be.

It's very rare for a goalkeeper to score a goal at full-time, not to talk of a brace. He has added his name to the league's history books. I have seen a goalkeeper captain a team, but I have never seen a goalkeeper that is the designated penalty taker. He must be very good to be given such role. Is he the former Belgian national coach's son?

Despite the three good seasons that PSV have dominated the league, they have hardly defeated Ajax on their own ground. It’s either they draw, but PSV hardly beat them at home. However, everything has just turned around, and seriously, many people did not expect that PSG would have such an easy win against Ajax.

I even wanted to bet on Ajax to win or draw; that is, I chose the double chance, but it did not go as I predicted. Looking at Ajax since they started their season, they have been playing like a team that is in great form. But since yesterday, I found out that they are not in as good a form as I expected.With the result I got yesterday, that means PSV are winning this league again this season because I don’t find any other team that may challenge PSV as much as Ajax or Feyenoord and I am also not convinced enough by Feyenoord performance recently

Okay, I didn't know much about them because I mostly rate only the big three (PSV, Ajax, Feyeonord) and aside from them, I don't know any other team that can compete. I only asked because of AZ's 100% record so far this season but based on your reply, it seems they might have the same problem as Feyeonord which is the inability to continuously perform at the top level over the course of the season.

Some games will be hard fought but as long as they can give their best every matchday, they should be good. I don't think I will be backing them a lot though. maybe just for the goals.


I don't know about any other leagues in Europe but the Erevidisie have 100% record for over 1.5 goals this season.  This is a feat that even English Premier League or La liga can boast of.

For a team gradually rebuilding, Ajax did impressively and did you just follow the stats or you saw highlights of the game or the full game  you will notice that they played beautiful football. And if they can continue this way, they will finish with more points than they did last season. PSV has already built something great over the years, it is not like Ajax played too bad or PSV did too good,  they just had a structure which has worked for some tile now. First lose of the season, but they will build on continuously from here.

I initially predicted PSV to win  but through a narrow win. I never expected the scoreline will be like that . Ajax has become a different team entirely. Everything started falling apart when Erik ten Haag left the club. PSV has become the dominant force in the team . If Ajax doesn't play This season, I expect PSV to win their 4 title in a row. Even Feyenoord that I expect to also compete for the title are also washed.  Ajax needs an urgent solution to this situation of theres, if not they will be losing relevance and sinking to a mid level club. They didn't even qualify to either UEFA champions league and the Europa, instead they are playing in a very low tier competition "The conference league"

The match between Ajax and PSV Eindhoven was really a tensed match which is why it recorded a lot of bookings, Ajax had 3 bookings while PSV Eindhoven had 6 bookings, I was even scared for PSV not to get a red card. Ajax had the ball possession but PSV won the match because they played more tactical game than Ajax. PSV is now at the top temporarily, while waiting for the result of AZ Alkmaar which will determine if they will still remain at the top or AZ Alkmaar will return back to the top if they win their match against Heerenveen tomorrow.

The reason why Ajax has loss their dominance to PSV is because of the key players they sold after making a name for themselves in the 2018/2019 Champions League, and if they don't build up a good team PSV will keep dominating Eredivisie and also win them anytime they meet since PSV squad depth is better than Ajax squad depth. I'm not even surprised with the a lot of bookings the Ajax vs PSV game had because they are bitter rivals.  Since PSV walked away with three points from Ajax home ground nobody will talk about the possession Ajax had because what really matters in football is three points. AZ Alkmaar has gone back to the top of Eredivisie league table after beating Heerenveen 3-2 but in due time they will make way for PSV.

I was expecting something different from Ajax as this season started, as they have not been strong enough over the last four seasons since Erik ten haag left the team. But every past three seasons, I have been expecting great performances from Ajax. Maybe they can challenge PSV and win the league, but it always remains the same. Over the past three seasons, this season too, I wanted to see a different team winning the league, which I expected Ajax should be. But after the results I saw when Ajax and PSG met, I gave up. No team is hardly going to challenge PSV, and PSV is going for the fourth in a row.

As for AZ Alkmaar, they are not consistent, which is why I hardly count them among the three favorite teams to win the league. Even with AZ Alkmaar strong start, I am still not convinced that they are likely going to compete for the league title, because once other competitions start, they are not at the same level of form in the league. Maybe their focus always shifts; I don't know

After having poor start now PSV is back on its trademark performance, they are giving their best with having 18 goals which are most for any team in first five games. I am sure they are going to be having their top spot back quicker than we could guess because they are having enough depth for staying consistent and leading the league table.

AZ Alkmaar also have good start with win in cup and now after 5 games, they are having 15 points but round 8 against Feyenoord and then in round 11 against Ajax these games are going to be challenging for them if they are able to stay on this level against these big opponents then things could be interesting but most chances, they will be have some difficulties for having this consistency. In second phase of season, always teams feel more pressure and lost points, hopefully they will be able to have their best because they needed to be staying on good run for staying in good level till end of this season.

Last weekend's results as above.
As we can see one of the games, Utrecht Vs Eagles, is still not completed. The game was suspended after about 1 hour of play due to repeated misbehaviour of Utrecht's fans.
Eagles shocked the home team with 3-0 lead. Utrecht managed to respond with one goal before the game was stopped. The last 30 minutes will be played on Tue. Obviously, it won't be easy for Utrecht to come back in such a short time from being down by two goals, but who knows.

PSV is the new champion and they're dominating the Eredivisie this season. They do have brilliant players that are able to display exceptional abilities on the pitch, the display and view the fans loved to watch and praise because this is really a good job for PSV. Winning Ajax was a basic necessity for them and there's no way they will hide behind the scene and not win their top games.

Ajax should not be blamed because they're still elite side but it's quite unfortunate they didn't meet up the strength of PSV and they got humbled by them in the game. It's not the end of the league besides the league is just starting and there's still time for Ajax to bounce an fight back.
