This is a result I was already expecting to see.

Ajax 1 - 3 PSV

Egoism was Ajax's biggest problem in this game. Look at how that Ajax player shot; the ball didn't even come close to the PSV goalkeeper, and he could have passed it to another Ajax player who was in a very good position, maybe even scoring a goal. While Ajax had selfish players sabotaging the team, PSV played as a team, which is why they won this game. After PSV's second goal, there were a few minutes of confusion on the field, and when the game resumed, PSV scored the third goal.

It comes as a thing of no surprise that PSV did beat Ajax. I predicted a 2X PSV double chance because, I didn’t see how PSV would have lost in that game.

Worst of all, Ajax showed us why they deserved to lose. After managing to come from behind and get an equalizer, they started being too confident and tried to go solo on the goalkeeper rather than seeking team play. Else, how do you explain those instances where, a pass and score would have allowed your player to be in contest with an empty net. They rather missed and offer an apology than pass the ball.

While PSV was just stretching them from end to end before bringing the ball in the middle and score. The second goal though, so unexpected. I almost thought it was off target only to find it right in the net.

Look. In the three goals that PSV scored, clearly the PSV players played as a team, and clearly the Ajax goalkeeper made mistakes. Honestly, I don't know what he was doing in that game. I may be wrong in my analysis. In any case, congratulations to PSV for the victory; this will be another season in which they will be champions.

despite the defeat, I partially liked Ajax's performance. they had plenty of chances to score more than one goal. partly it was bad luck and partly the selfishness of some players got in the way. but it's clear that Michel is building an attacking team and I like their football. I'd especially like to highlight the disappointing debut of Tsygankov who joined Ajax from Girona. his mistake led to the third goal and essentially ruined the team's chances of comeback. Michel previously worked with Tsygankov at Girona and praised him but so far it seems he's not ready.

Last weekend's results as above.
As we can see one of the games, Utrecht Vs Eagles, is still not completed. The game was suspended after about 1 hour of play due to repeated misbehaviour of Utrecht's fans.
Eagles shocked the home team with 3-0 lead. Utrecht managed to respond with one goal before the game was stopped. The last 30 minutes will be played on Tue. Obviously, it won't be easy for Utrecht to come back in such a short time from being down by two goals, but who knows.

How is that possible? As far as I know, matches usually start from the beginning. But, since Go Ahead Eagles had already scored 3 goals, it certainly wouldn't be fair for them to have to start the match over. In my opinion, a comeback is no longer possible for Utrecht, because Go Ahead Eagles will be playing with fresh players. What caught my attention this Eredivisie round was Ajax, they failed to win. Does this mean another season without a league title for Ajax?

It's a bit unfair to the Eagles. The game was suspended because of misbehaviour by Utrecht's fans (throwing objects etc). This allowed Utrecht to come up with a different tactic and the Eagles lost the momentum they had when the game was played at the original time.
It's hard to blame the ref/officials, as they had no other choice.

the remainder of the match was played out in the middle of the day on September 8, starting from the 65th minute and without spectators. I agree that there is a certain unfairness toward Go Ahead Eagles as they almost certainly would have gone on to win the match on September 5. the behavior of Utrecht fans was bad but you can kind of understand them. the team has been playing poorly this season, picking up just two points from five matches without a single win. their defensive performance was also terrible with 18 goals conceded during those five games.

Sometimes in football, you have to make decisions like that. The spectators caused a disturbance, and play was halted for a while. As a result, Utrecht managed to secure a draw. You shouldn't blame the opponent for this, they needed to defend well, but they were forced to deviate from the strong performance they had been displaying. Coming back from a 0-3 deficit to earn a draw is a great achievement for Utrecht, in my opinion. The team deserves to be congratulated for that.

A big night for Feyenoord tomorrow. They are playing away against Barcelona. Bookies don't expect any result other than a Barcelona win. Betting on Feyenoord can yield you almost x24.0, for a double-chance bet: x8.1.
But I don't think many would be brave enough to place such bets, unless a fun bet with a really small amount. I wish Feyenoord all the best, but I can't imagine them earning any points tomorrow. They would need tremendous luck for that, maybe an early red card for Barcelona etc.

The bookies are tipping PSV as favourite, but I'm going to keep my fingers crossed. Both teams are in good form right now, and I think the match can go either way.

Yup. As expected, Feyenoord was a walk in the park for Barcelona. The Spanish champions took the early lead in the 3rd minute and probably ruined Feyenoord's plans to defend the draw. The game ended 5-1. To Feyenoord's credit, they had a few good chances and had one goal disallowed, but they were facing a team that is on a whole different level to what they are used to in the Eredivisie.
Their next Champions League game is a home game against Italian Como. This also won't be an easy game, but Feyenoord will have a realistic chance of winning if they play at their best.

I hope PSV won't have much trouble against Shakhtar tomorrow. Shakhtar shouldn't be underestimated though. They eliminated AZ Alkmaar in the Conference League quarter-final last season, beating them 5-2 on aggregate.

The Go Ahead Eagles–Utrecht match was, in every sense, a clash of two very different stories. Failing to hold onto a 3-0 lead was a major disappointment for Go Ahead Eagles. While we can say they started the season well by their standards, dropping two points after taking a three-goal lead in a game like this shows that the team still has issues to address. Utrecht also deserves congratulations; their refusal to give up easily and their ability to bring the score to 3-3 is a significant display of character.
From Utrecht’s perspective, however, the picture isn’t very encouraging. Their failure to secure a win in the opening weeks, coupled with dropping three points in the final stretch of a match like this, shows they haven’t gotten off to the start they wanted this season. Nevertheless, coming back from a 3-0 deficit to earn a draw could prove psychologically valuable for the weeks ahead.
In the Excelsior vs. NEC Nijmegen match, I think the situation is a bit different. Excelsior came very close to securing three points but missed out on the win after conceding a goal in the final minutes. Returning from the NEC away game with a victory would have been a highly valuable result for Excelsior, especially at this stage of the season. Considering NEC’s ability to score at home, the single point Excelsior earned isn’t entirely worthless, but it was certainly a missed opportunity.

at some point, a draw against Shakhtar can still be considered a decent result for PSV. it is a mistake to view Shakhtar as an underdog, given that the squad consists almost entirely of Brazilians supplemented by a few Ukrainians. while they may lack the technical quality of teams from top leagues, they are certainly capable of putting up a fight against the rest as we saw in the match against PSV. it is also worth noting that most of Shakhtar's Brazilians are very young and lack European competition experience yet they are progressing rapidly.

With -1 handicap at the bookies, this is certainly not the result expected, not just by PSV, but by gamblers around the world. I personally think that PSV could win by a margin of 2 or 3 goals. However, the reality is that Shakhtar Donetsk is capable of putting up a strong fight, even when playing away. In their next UCL match, PSV will face Leipzig, who lost to Como today by 4 - 1. I think we can expect PSV to secure their first UCL win in the next match.

in the Netherlands the sixth round kicked off with a major upset. tournament leaders AZ Alkmaar failed to beat the underdog Willem II at home. the hosts dominated the match and took the lead in the 32nd minute but they were unable to extend their advantage and conceded an equalizer in the 81st minute. AZ didn't manage to snatch a victory in the remaining time despite creating chances. they had a great opportunity to win six out of six matches but failed to achieve that.

well you are not alone. I decided to check sofa score, and I was shocked to see Alkmaar drawing. They've ruined my ticket before the weekend games starts. I always have bad feelings about Friday games. Example was the Real Betis vs Madrid match. And I wanted to play over 1.5 or Home double chance.  It might be the upcoming Europa league match that made not playing like the way we expected them to. But checking the match stat Alkmaar has 20+ total shots, and 5 shots on target, yet still ended up with one goal. which means they weren't lucky today.. We saw that with Bayern Munich last weekend, where they drew nil-nil against a small team.

Just saw the AZ Alkmaar result today and I'm surprised that they were held to a draw at home by a team currently near the bottom of the league. I don't know what happened but if it's fatigue, then it's too early. Just a week ago, I was praising AZ Alkmaar for their 100% record. I've now seen that it would be hard for them to be consistent with their results. This is why PSV always win as they're easily the most consistent team in the eredivisie.

Any  Ajax fan expecting them to win the Eredivisie league competition this year must be day dreaming lol. Son of Johan Cruyff was responsible for this changes we're seeing in this Ajax team. I don't even know what role he came in for but he has helped placed the footballing aspect of the club into a beautiful one. My opinion is that Ajax will not be winning the League Competition. They will fight to remain as the top four clubs but emerging winners is a big no no. PSV and Feyenoord returns back to league games after failing to impress and show themselves in the Champions League competition.
