I am not thinking either he is right or wrong but wondering how a true Bitcoin lover becomes afraid of the quantum threat. I know there would be an attack if quantum computers launched, but I also believe before it happens Bitcoin developers will do a hard fork and make it more secure.
That’s my belief since I love Bitcoin strongly. He is selling, but I am accumulating right now, so each of us has been thinking differently. Also, I agree with you; we may see another ATH in the next couple of years, and definitely it will happen. So it is better to accumulate now through a DCA strategy, as I am doing now.
Jim Cramer has never been a Bitcoin supporter or lover. He has been attacking Bitcoin using any slight challenge the currency encounters. According to the article in the OP, he once called Bitcoin worthless, which is not the behaviour of a core supporter. I am glad that traders are taking his announcement for granted. They already know him for raising false alarms. When people want to gain attention, they attack Bitcoin. Going to the rooftop to announce that he wants to sell his Bitcoin proves that he is either an attention seeker or wants to generate FUD. The quantum computing threat is not a big deal, yet some people overexaggerate it.

If you look at the current global economic situation, you can generally say, “Debt levels are too high.” Fiat currency loses value every year, the inflation shows us. Without printing new money, the system cant continue. The result, the value of fiat currency will declining, than they printing more money and the debt rising. This system drive to another financial crisis? There are people who see this coming. This time, I believe not only gold will be a store of value, also Bitcoin. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Bitcoin performed very strong. With a 30% drop followed by a sensational all time high.

In this current situation, many investors are panicking due to the Coldcard hack, which is even more panicked due to the quantum computer threat. For which he is promoting that he will sell his Bitcoin, but in my opinion, selling his Bitcoin will be the most foolish thing. Because the price of Bitcoin is now very low, if he sells Bitcoin, other investors will accept Bitcoin at a cheap price. jim-cramer should stay calm, the more excited he gets, the more his Bitcoin investment will be at risk. But I think it is not appropriate to sell Bitcoin at this time, he should wait a few more years and keep his wallet carefully. Then his Bitcoin will be safe in the future.

This dude is here for the clout telling people bitcoin is monopoly money early when he still had no idea, after FTX collapsed the dude came out again saying its phoney money. You can't believe a single word coming from this kind of person, let alone financial advice. The bitcoin community will do better if they ignored Jim altogether because this dude is seasonal fudders and maybe make more money from his show than investment because it explains why he changed side a lot.

I have the feeling that we are going to see more of these "Person sells his BTC/crypto because of BS reason" news posted on social media. This is nothing more than FUD news. The BTC price didn't go down because of this FUD. Only a small amount of Bitcoin supporters know about Jim Cramer and care about his opinions. Anyway, we shouldn't act like ostriches and put our heads in the sand. Quantum computers+super AI are coming and the Bitcoin developers must be prepared for these threats. Acting as if there's nothing to worry about is another form of toxic behavior.

Maybe if we look at the other side, selling his Bitcoin is not foolish at all. Even if the current price of Bitcoin is low, and he feels that his Bitcoin is at risk, then I think it's reasonable decision in exchange of being able to sleep at night without any worries or fear of losing his money. Selling in this current situation does not automatically mean you are panicking, for Jim Cramer, it might be his way to keep his funds to safety.

Most things, these people say, I don't even know if they mean it or if they just want relevance and attention. Since quantum computers are the new buzzword, everybody wants to say it so it will look like they know what they're saying. There is no difference between him and people who have been echoing "quantum computers" on the forum without even understanding or at least trying to understand anything about it. An ordinary Google search will tell them there are proposals like BIP-360 and BIP-361 that are apparently quantum-resistant.
But somebody like Jim Cramer won't care about that. He just focuses on the popular topics. He has gone from Bitcoin is worthless to advising people to buy Bitcoin, and now he's back here. He goes wherever the wind blows.

You are really taking Jim Crammer a serious person? That menace has predicted Bitcoin wrongly than he would have buy Bitcoin and guess what? Anything he says, it's the opposite of what he says that end up happening. If he says that Bitcoin price is going up, know that Bitcoin price is about to make another move to the upside and if he says up, then know that we have hit another resistance and Bitcoin will dump, so with this news expect him to do nothing. Honestly no serious person that holds bitcoin will take jim Cramer’s idea seriously, he’s usually wrong almost all the time. In fact when he say’s SELL many people usually do exactly the opposite and it has often work for them. Just like you said there was issues with some COLDCARD hardware wallet, which was more of like a software bug and people lost money sadly, should that force everyone holding bitcoin to sell? I guess No. Would be much better to create new keys and move your coins there. The fact still remains that keeping bitcoin your self is still much safer than leaving it on an exchange. Cramer’s latest panic is just a noise. Buy more bitcoin if you can, keep it in your custody and ignore the TV guys drama.

We can interpret this in many ways. He isn’t questioning the value of Bitcoin, rather he’s worried about the security of holding the coins. The recent Coldcard incident has had a significant impact on crypto holders, and this decision may have been influenced by that.
Or maybe I am wrong. Since he’s a public figure, suddenly posting about selling his coins could mean he’s trying to manipulate the market. He may want the price to fall further so that he can buy more coins at a lower price.

It is natural to panic in this current situation, but I think it is better to be more cautious and if all his Bitcoin is in one wallet, then it may be a better plan to transfer it to different wallets. Jim Cramer may not be able to keep himself calm at the moment, so he must be worried, so he must take steps and strategies. Taking strategies is good but the decision to sell is very bad, the decision to sell is bad because the price of Bitcoin is currently very low and he will not be able to gain much benefit by selling at this time. Because the price of Bitcoin will increase further later, then it will be wise to sell Bitcoin. Or maybe I am wrong. Since he’s a public figure, suddenly posting about selling his coins could mean he’s trying to manipulate the market. He may want the price to fall further so that he can buy more coins at a lower price.
Maybe this is a strategy, because big whale investors first spread panic and then they decide to buy Bitcoin because the price of Bitcoin is much lower then. Because various investors are now panicking due to the Coldcard hack, so by following this strategy he can take the opportunity to buy Bitcoin, not a bad plan to collect Bitcoin at any price.

Because of quantum computers threat to bitcoin security. I was thinking, he has been thinking about this before, but the recent Coldcard issue would have been what that initiated him to finally make up his mind. https://cryptobriefing.com/jim-cramer-sell-bitcoin-inverse-cramer/But many people are buying the dip instead. I think he makes a wrong decision. But it is his bitcoin, he can do whatever he likes to it. I did not know when he bought bitcoin, why publicly announced that he is selling. Bitcoin all time high in few year to come. Well, we need sellers so that there would be buyers don't you think? The coldcard vulnerability plus quantum threats is enough to shake someone with massive investment in Bitcoin, that is if we have to be honest to ourselves. Although the quantum threats may not really be a big issue since it could be solved via through the migration being proposed. But despite these issues, I don't think it is wise for any incestor to sell off his investmemt.
This is true, but at the same time, I feel the guy is just spreading FUD just to make sure he made the right call. But we are almost at the bottom, why sell now? He should've sold when he start seeing some very large green candlesticks in the chart. Anyways not my cup of tea, cause mine is still hot and brewing.

Basically, anyone has the right to sell their Bitcoin, including Jim Cramer. Well, he might regret it, especially if what he fears doesn't happen (the threat of quantum computing) in the next few years, but he should understand that his decision today will determine his future, and he should understand all the consequences.
Yes, but maybe he can use it to invest on an asset that will also increase in price very well. It might or might not regret it, depending on what he used the money to do. He can use it for business and not regret it if the business pays out very well. By the way, I am just a little puzzled: why is he so convinced of the threat of quantum computing that he is selling everything ? He should have kept some of his Bitcoin, or half for a long-term plan. Because, I think it is a wise decision to leave some Bitcoin to invest, and it is wise not to put so much confident in what might not happen.
The Coldcard issue recently might be the reason. He can think what if quantum computers just brute force a private key and what if it is his private key. That the money will all be gone like what the Coldcard thieves did. But that is not a good point to sell his bitcoin. Wait, wasn't that Coldcard issue related to a security vulnerability ? From what I have read, the security issue was in the old firmware, whereas the latest firmware isn't at risk. So, I don't think there is any connection between the threat of quantum computers and that Coldcard issue. If that is really the case, then I think his line of reasoning went a bit too far. Well, besides that, I think he is giving others the chance to buy cheap Bitcoin (lower price) from him. ~ I think he makes a wrong decision. But it is his bitcoin, he can do whatever he likes to it. He does these public stunts often. In 2021, he claimed he sold almost everything he held after the mining crackdown in China. I did not know when he bought bitcoin, why publicly announced that he is selling. He entered the space much later, most likely after the third halving. As I mentioned earlier, he mostly just likes publicity stunts. I am certain he never posted any blockchain proof along with these announcements; I believe he never does that either. I learned to ignore these random noises a very long time age.

But it is his bitcoin, he can do whatever he likes to it. He is not making any decision, he's just seeking attention just like he got yours and you started this thread. He's a host to a vital program so he can make public assertions to get people to keep talking. He is much informed to dump his bitcoin in a bear market, I see it as Corporate Hypocrisy because he is not really going to sell any bitcoin. He has to give a reason to validate his public stunt and he cited QC while giving a timeline to make it looks more convincing. QC isn't a real threat to bitcoin as at now, people that promote it to spread FUD are blatant liars. But many people are buying the dip instead.
That's the inverse Cramer effect on traders, since he's been wrong frequent times, traders tend to do the opposite of whatever he says.

Bitcoin investment should be held according to one's wishes, but still there is a season for it. In the current situation, those who will sell Bitcoin investment are basically fools, because if they sell Bitcoin now, other investors will buy Bitcoin cheaply and keep it for a long time. Even though he is an experienced Bitcoin investor, he should not have made a public announcement at this time, maybe he has made a strategy to create panic in the market by announcing this Bitcoin sale. Because many investors are panicking due to the Coldcard hack a few days ago, so he has announced the sale of Bitcoin on this opportunity so that they can buy more when the Bitcoin market is dumping. If he has done this strategy, then it may be a wise strategy for those who will buy Bitcoin, but in this situation, he should not sell Bitcoin at all.

As he said, quantum computing is coming to eat Bitcoin within three years and because of this reason, he has decided to sell his Bitcoins. What a smart man, such smartness (this is a sarcasm of course). So, he thinks he is smart enough to predict with certainty that quantum computing is going to destroy Bitcoin but he thinks that BlackRock, Fidelity Investments and other companies, that manage trillions of dollars, are stupid enough to not be able to predict what happens to Bitcoin and acquire Bitcoins.
Honestly, what is this that everyone today shares what they are gonna do with their money? If you plan to sell Bitcoins, sell Bitcoins without announcing it to the public. Nobody cares.

Nobody takes Jim seriously, he's so unlucky with predictions and since he is going in the direction of 'sell your BTC', this may actually be the perfect time to add more sats to your portfolio. Jim believes that three years from today, QC would be a full threat to BTC, yet he never backed it up with facts or anything substantial. I am sure Jim doesn't even know what the current progress is in terms of development of QC.
This is exactly why i call many of the QC discussions fud, people simply hype up the threat, like Q-day is hours away, even though they know nothing about these supercomputers. Jim can sell his BTC's, who cares.

It really surprising that people who have been in the system for long are now afraid of a threat by quantum computer that can be resolved since he is not the only one in this at the moment. It is left for him anyways to decide what to do about his holding, but I think there are better approach towards this than selling his holdings so early, as he has decided in his mind to sell and be safe of losing his investment.
I doubt if he even had any Bitcoin in his possession, and I think he's seeking attention by speaking about quantum computer threat. Over the years, many in the crypto community have come to see him for who he truly is. Whenever he opens his mouth to speak, people don't take him seriously, and they tend do the opposite.

Then let him. What is the fuss about? Why do we need to make people feel more relevant than they actually are? He is a man who has been predicting the opposite for a while, so we really shouldn't be giving him much relevance. He would not be the first person to sell his Bitcoin, and he certainly won't be the last. Everybody has a right to their own views, no matter how flawed they might be. That is what freedom is all about. After all, it's his money.
A lot of people (including me) know little about quantum computers, but what I find infuriating is how they talk about it like they are experts or something. Once something becomes a hot topic, people want to talk about it even though they don't know much about it.

I learned to ignore these random noises a very long time age. Simply the best anyone can do, close both ears to the noise. We all bought our Bitcoin different dates, different reasons and timing, if he's going to sell just because he's scared of what may not happen, it's either none of our business. Strong hands will hold, it's always been this way, the weak hands usually sells.
