Trading is, indeed, a constant learning process, which means that a person who is into trading will have to keep learning and adapting if they want to stay profitable and relevant in the market, whereas a graduate is basically someone who completes their education or a specific level of education. In trading, especially when someone is doing it in a market as diverse as the cryptocurrency market, a person will need to keep updating their knowledge and information, because if you don't stay updated, you will miss important opportunities, and no trader would want that.

Some traders usually make the mistake of thinking that they have learned everything after they reach a certain point with good enough knowledge. One could say that you become very knowledgeable after you spend a reasonable amount of time in the market making trades and observing everything, but that doesn't mean your learning process is over. Even those who are extremely experienced tend to learn lessons from the market from time to time.

So, I totally agree that it's just a constant learning process that basically never ends.
Not only do people stop learning after a while, but some people also do not even START learning. They just get into trading and hope that they will make a profit, and that's it. They do not know what indicators are, what Bollinger Bands are, what EMA is, what chart reading looks like, or what head and shoulders is; to them, head and shoulders is just shampoo, nothing more. And they think they could make money from it.

I give it to you that just because you know technical analysis doesn't mean that you are guaranteed to make a profit, but at least you have a higher chance of profit than not knowing how to do it. And you are right that it is a non-stop situation; you can't just learn once and then it is done, it is not like school, where you study, and when you graduate you are done. It is never-ending; you could be 70 years old and still end up studying the newest things and one more thing and one more thing; you can keep adding more to your skill set and learn more about how to trade.

Do you know that after being profitable, you are still prone to lose your trade one of these days? Therefore, I can't guarantee that there is a real trading graduate. Trading graduates could be understood that they are excellently good and profitable in their trades, and that the possibility of trading losses will always be low.

However, I don't think this is what actually happening to the real traders in the market. Even the professional traders sometimes struggle on how to manage the uncertainty of the market so that they won't end up losing. Because in reality, a trading graduate could only be seen in a book, but not in real life trading journey.

With every challenges that a trader experience, different threats and risks, I don't think its appropriate to say that a trading graduate exists. Because in reality, as long as you still chose to stay trading, there will be endless trading lessons that you will learn every single day. Not just from your personal trading experiences, but also learning from the experiences of other traders as they could also create a good reflection on your trading habit.

In conclusion, one can only be considered a trading graduate once you leave trading for good. That's just from my own point of view as one of crypto traders.

Although our fellow plebs believe that "they're learning/evolving", but if they're not growing in capital, which is the ACTUAL THING that matters in trading/investing, THEN that's telling them that they're NOT learning/evolving.

Plus if, you, as a pleb will not outperform against a person who simply Buys and HODL Bitcoin, then WHY waste your time in trading? Simply HODL.

MOST of the "traders" in BitcoinTalk DO NOT beat the market, especially the plebs like us in signature campaigns.

You have seen me posted about the use of low leverage, not using all the money in your exchange account to trade, learning trading psychology, averaging or grid trade up to certain level and not up to turning it into martingale which is used by poor traders.

I have also posted about trader should not only make risk management a practicality but also be good in financial management. Knowing not to borrow money to trade and also knowing the percentage of your income to set on trading which I think should not be more than 10%, but this still depend on how low risky you go while trading which should still be moderate.

Also knowing the right coins to trade because many coins are full of whales that you can not be better than as they will manipulate your money for their own profits, but you in losses. And also that some coins are too volatile.

Do you know that you can know all these and still not be a graduate in trading. Just test yourself, if you can do this 5 times, you are a trading graduate. Example is when bitcoin fell from $120000 to $100000 and your go on long position, if you are able to still make profit or only having a significantly little loss, that is when you have a trading graduate. Such volatile market will always come, be prepared and test yourself 5 to 10 times to call yourself a trading graduate.

It can be in swing trading. You can set stop loss if you want.

What does trading graduate really implies? Does it mean that as trading graduate you will no longer have losses? Or will have less loses? Practice they say makes excellence, but if luck is associated with trading, does this excellence as a trading graduate determine every outcome?
To some extent being a trading graduate will definitely help but doesn't tell the outcome of trading all the time. And then is there really factors to determine a trading graduate? Because trading just seems to nonfactorizable.

What is written on the last part of what you quoted is you can set stop loss if you want. That should answer your question enough that I know some traders are saying they can not do without stop loss.

Also there is a part that I said this:
Do you know that you can know all these and still not be a graduate in trading. Just test yourself, if you can do this 5 times, you are a trading graduate. Example is when bitcoin fell from $120000 to $100000 and your go on long position, if you are able to still make profit or only having a significantly little loss, that is when you have a trading graduate. I hope your question has been answered.

I am referring to those that only have little losses from trading or still make profit after a volatile market.

Trading graduation is not possible because when will test yourself you will face loss and Even experienced traders face losses, so losses alone cannot determine whether someone is a trading graduate or not. But for new person this term should not be use because that is risky when you talk about trading and you have to take some risk and many people can take high risk and many can take low risk which depends on the portfolio of person because there are millions of people who have low income but they heard about trading and now they want to become trading graduate but that is not an easy task because market is changing at every second and people are losing and the learning process is never ends.

Although it's obvious to always use a stop-loss, pardon me, ser. But who are these "traders" that you're talking about? Are they actual registered traders, who actually do it as a profession? Or are those "traders" mere PLEBS like us who merely take their chances in the market and gamble their savings?

I don't want to offend anyone, but there's a massive difference between the two.

Stop loss is such an important part of the learning curve. A lot of people do not really utilise it very well, and that is why they end up losing money. If you really want to be a good trader one day, then the best thing you can do would be making sure that you know what stop loss is and how to use it properly. Of course you are not going to trade it that easily, but that doesn't mean that you are going to end up with a good result if you are not careful.

Moreover, it is not just stop loss that you need to be careful about; orders are very important as well. You may put an order to buy at a lower price, for example, thinking that if it goes down that much, you should buy because that is what you think the bottom would be, but then the price could crash even way lower than that. If you just let it be like that, then you are not going to profit easily, so you have to be careful where you put your orders and make sure you know the resistance points and support points before you do such a thing.

I know about experienced traders but I don't understand what is meant by being a graduate. No experienced trader can always make a profit on a trading platform. Most traders achieve success through disciplined fund management. Experienced traders make wrong decisions because even after analyzing the market, perfect decisions cannot be made in predicting the future.
An experienced trader can reduce the amount of losses in trading relatively, this is true. It is true that practice makes perfect, but in the case of trading, this cannot be said to be completely correct because every trader has to use capital at risk. If the price increases in the future, he can make a profit.

Is here anyone who can come out to say he is an expert in trading? I don't think so, because even the most experienced in trading always lose at one point in time. There is no one that is above mistake that is why you will find it very difficult for some one to be trading everyday, back to back without losing. There must be a little mistake that will cause you to lose your money at one point. Those who think they have had a certificate in trading can only say they have experience, which makes them more likely to win any time they trade than losing. To them, the possibility of winning is higher than the possibility of losing.
Maybe some day, people will come out to say they  are very good , therefore, they can be called graduates in trading.  This will be very funny because I still think they will still lose even after having such degree if there is any.

Whenever you are trading, loss is something which you can’t avoid, that’s why some people see trading as a dangerous activity. Because even if you are a professional trader, you will lose sometimes, so whenever anyone tells you their is a way you can trade and you not going to lose at all, you should know the person is going to scam you, because even if you are a expert in trading, you still going to lose.

I believe that trading is not like school, where you can graduate from it. Instead, it is more of a journey where you continuously learn and strive to improve and adapt to a dynamically moving market. Of course, you might already understand these things, but they have become common knowledge that needs to be grasped by every trader. However, even if you understand this, it will not guarantee that you will find it easier to make a profit in the market. The most important thing is your ability to implement that knowledge and remain capable of generating consistent profits from your trades.
I don’t know the reason why people think that they can be graduate from trading, when some people are there losing every blessing day in trading, there’s some that ever since they introduced themselves self into trading they’ve never had single win rather they lose.

You can just see a person has been succeed profits two or three times in trading and been thinking that they’ve become experts on the market, no matter how experts you’re in the trading you will never escape from losing, that’s why I’m still wonder how a person can become a graduate from trading while a lots of people are engage of losing money any time they approach the market.

Many just can't to accept that there's no strategy in trading that guarantees winning all the time. Losing is just part of it and it can't be taken away from it. In fact I think trading will be incomplete or will lose its credibility without losing. To me I don't think there's anything like graduate in trading because learning doesn't seem to end with trading, as you keep trading you keep learning from it because even experts lose in trading. This is just the difference between beginners and experts, experts always know how to manage their funds properly but beginners are not that exposed to understand it yet.

I don't think there is a ever a concept like "trading graduate". As with all education principles, we never really graduate as there are always new things to learn. Trading especially is an ever evolving institution. Even professional traders are still student of the market. Alot of things will separate a beginner and a professional but the major one is that the professional journals and keeps tracks of:
  • How the market is evolving and which phase of the market we are
  • What works and what doesn't so they can go all in on what works and less on what doesn't work.
  • Their mistakes and steps to prevent them from doing it.

Those processes are always ongoing so one doesn't truly graduate but can improve continously to a point of complete profitability.

I think that trading is more of practice and continues practice. The more you practice, you get better at wha you do. I do not see as an institution where someone could be regarded as a graduate. Even the most experienced traders lose at a time. Where Mr A knowledge stops, that is where Mr B's start.

I acknowledge that there are really good people, but I do not think that the word graduate is the most appropriate to qualify them. If anyone is graduated from a university or high school, they no longer studies. So, if they are still trading, they should not be called graduates because they are still practicing.

Those who can be patient in trading losses and survive there will be real and experienced traders. So I say only those who can afford to lose will survive trading, so you should be patient enough to protect yourself. Spot loss set This is a more advanced strategy, because the more strategy you follow in trading, the more the guarantee of winning will increase.
If you face more losses, then of course more leverage can be added, which can give some relief from losing money.

So bro, you are saying knowledge alone is not enough, which we call theory. Of course, theory alone is not enough, but universities have been giving degrees of graduation on the basis of theories already haha. But if you want to be a trading graduate, practical is important.

We can learn a lot of things. Like, some people try to learn everything, which is random, and then they try to put those pieces of information together in a situation, wasting 2x of their mental resources. While if they would have followed a sequence of getting the knowledge through a course, maybe they would have been doing much better.

So yep, theory and practical are important. If we can't manage to make profit in such huge dumps and risky market situations, then practical alone won't make us good traders, although there is no such thing as a trading graduate haha.

I believe trading is a school with endless lessons.
I also think so because of people that are trading and losing but they continue to choose the path to trading and continue to lose money. They will continue to learn until they finally stop trading like someone that has been addicted to gambling since few years ago.

But for successful traders, the lesson is not endless for them, that is the reason they finally understand trading and not losing like before.

Why don't you use the word "successful gamblers" to be winning in gambling since they never stopped. I've got to understand that trading is not as easy as people be thinking and saying, many traders are quiting silently because they kept loosing money, and never seems to profit more than they had lost.

If gamblers quit because of so many trials without results, then traders can also quit after many trials too, if consistent and stubborn trader continues and earns more, then gamblers who take the same path will earn more.

Trading never stops giving us new lessons and new strategies to learn, hence talking about trading graduate does not fit in trading. We could be graduates in different aspects in life but not in terms of growing money in financial market. Every single day you are trading you could face new mistakes and eventually lose your money, and eventually you could gain new realization, so learnings become endless in trading. Simply put, graduation does not exist in trading.

If trading graduate becomes an exception from those unexpected losses and failures in trading, then I should say that such trading graduate is just found in the book, but not in reality. All traders are not free from losses, aren't free from the market's unpredictable movements that led them to commit unexpected losses and trading failure. And as a real trader, you don't get excused from all bad lucks in trading, you just learned to overcome them and become wiser in the next trades.
