Infantino will remain as FIFA president, he already tendered apologies for some of the things that would have been used to force him to step aside. He has been able to gather support from some of the clocks including Africa and the only major resistance he is facing now is the European block. Infantino is good in politics so he is doing great in handling the crisis that would have seen him out of office, hence he is likely to remain as FIFA president.

This is why I think the campaign against him is not about leadership anymore, it's about hate and politics within football that is why they are looking for way to make sure he is drop from the place and also make sure he doesn't have supporters when it's time to be elected. What did he do that other people have not done before, the same UEFA that is trying to boycott FIFA has turned around many red card, they weren't angry about the card it was because of Trump.

Anyone that says there is no politics in football and want to point fingers does not know how football is played. I have seen the worst of worse in Premier League, Manchester City has gotten away with plenty of allegations, Real Madrid and Barcelona are the most corrupt clubs in Spain, we have many of clubs in Germany, France and Saudi that are all corrupt and are doing comfortable but they want to make Infantino a scape goat because they don't like him.

No body is saying that there is no politics in football, there is politics every were but the manner in which Infantino went about his politics is the problem. He tried to enrich himself and virtually broke all the laws that guided football, for his interest which was not a good one.Infantino was about destroying football before some person started to voice out.

The red card you are mentioning that Eufa has upturned in the past,was it not because of appeal that the clubs involved did. Did Eufa just upturn a red card just like that, so that they can use it in favoring some mighty people in power so they can get their favor. Its pretty pathetic how Infantino really went about doing things without giving attention to the rules and regulation.

If Aleksander Ceferin fails to secure the position, then Nasser Al-Khelaifi will be the best candidate here, because even infantino knows that their is no way back for him, with the outrageous decisions he made during this past world cup competition.

It's a fine idea mate, and it gave so many nations opportunity to participate in the world cup, the first in most of them history, but do you know that a US player was given a red card for a dangerous leg breaking tackle, and should be missing the next game, but the US president called infantino and demanded that he should play the game he should have missed. If nothing is done about it and Infantino is left in power, it's obvious that there will be countless, much larger acts of corruption because he'll see it as normal, and that's something that shouldn't be accepted. Since the beginning of the 1930s, there has always been a lot of corruption, and that's what must be eradicated.

I think he should resign, and that way all this mess will be over. There's no good relationship with almost all the confederations; truly, Infantino crossed the line.

As always, they are playing it down, but in my view Ceferin is certainly interested. Being president of European or world football changes everything because it puts you in the spotlight and also allows you to stand as a candidate for other highly lucrative international organisations (Infantino was put forward for the UN, for example).
In my view, Ceferin will eventually stand for the role, using the excuse that he’s been asked to do so by who knows which federations and that, out of a love for the game, he’ll stand even though it goes against his intentions. You’ll see.

That's probably true, but I wouldn't be too sure yet, despite the fact that he's received support from many outside Europe and the scandals involving him have begun to subside. I think if things had happened much faster and the situation had required his replacement, an emergency vote would have already chosen another candidate. But that didn't happen, so time will gradually cool things down and everything will be practically as before. Perhaps Infantino himself knew he needed to do everything quietly for the moment, simply sit tight, keep quiet, and the situation will pass on its own.

The nomination deadline for challengers is November 18, 2026. Since there is still a long time left, we cannot be sure who will be Infantino's rival. Even if there is no one to stand against him after Ceferin leaves, it is definitely possible to find someone in due course. The one who has the most support among the 211 member associations in FIFA will take over FIFA. In this regard, Infantino has good support in Africa and South America. He should understand that being the FIFA president is a position that should never be misused or abused, especially because there are many eyes watching. He might have thought he could simply do whatever he wanted without being judged or called out.

As far as football is concerned, any form of abuse that makes the game unfair should be dealt with properly. Otherwise, it could gradually spread like wildfire and damage the integrity of the sport.

Why are you wondering or you are seeing election played this way for the first time. When a string candidate see that there is another candidate but doesn't have much votes, the big candidates does not want the votes to be wasted, they seek support for the minor candidates so they can get their votes and they comes to an agreement with some key position when they win and if they both agreed, they become one party and the main guy lead the squad.

Infantino has a stake in this election, he knows he can win but I think he want this to win so he can silent many people. So many people have said alot of bad things about him and he knows them, he knows who are his people and they are the ones that are not making the noise. I wasn't expecting this to happen at all, so I consider this a serious twist in the elections but people need to be careful what they conclude from this. Ceferin was one of the best or maybe the best challenger, but even if he is out that doesn't automatically guarantee that Infantino will get the next presidency. We've talked about Ceferin being one of the best candidates based on his background and his disagreements with Infantino made him an interesting challenger, but now with this change the user who made the poll should remove him from the options. I also think that people forget the possibility that even if Ceferin himself might not challenge Infantino directly, he could support someone who might do that. I would not conclude that the election is over just because Ceferin has withdrawn from this situation directly, for that there may be all kinds of reasons.

It does not depend on numbers, it depends on quality. A single opposition candidate of high quality would win this with enough political backing. This candidate may yet emerge, maybe it is someone who we haven't even considered.

And during his time, FIFA organized world cup with 48 teams for the first time, as a result of which many small teams got the opportunity to play FIFA world cup and proved their capabilities. Is it only me that is seeing all this as politics.. We also saw how biased Blatter was, so why are we even expecting anything different with Infantino... i am so certain that if Infantino is replaced today, there is no actual assurance that the next president will be better and just than Infantino.. But this obviously makes him to be re elected, but i'm wondering whether UEFA and other football organizations will still against and boycott him because we know next world cup will be hosted in Spain.
