How criticism is accepted is solely dependent on the person on the receiving end, and not even necessarily if it’s constructive criticism or not. If you are a person who hates to be corrected or always feel bad whenever you’re corrected, even if the criticism comes in a very constructive and the most polite way, you would still end up being affected negatively by it. Same with if you’re a person who loves every opportunity to learn, grow and improve, even if the criticism comes in most rude way, you’ll still pick out some vital points there and get motivated by them.

Constructive criticism is for those with a good sense of humor. If someone lacks a good sense of humor, they wouldn’t even understand what message is being passed to them. Everything would seem to come from a place of hate or look down. Unfortunately for such persons, no one really cares on the forum, it’s either you get it and move on or you just move on. It’s in nobody’s place to make anyone feel better, you either get used to it or get used to it, it’s that simple.

It all depends on the individual, constructive criticism can either encourage or discourage but if you are on the path to achieving something you must build the mental fortitude to be able to withstand criticism of any form, no matter how harsh you think they might be the most important thing is for you to learn from it

There is no reputable member here on the forum that fell out of the sky, they didn't know everything that got them to that point at first but with curiosity and correction they were able to get to the level where they are.

Constructive corrections or harsh criticisms should not discourage you as a new member of the forum, you cannot expect everyone to have the same attitude or character, some might correct you politely and others in a harsh manner, the most important thing is to learn.

‎My question?
‎You think say constructive criticism on Bitcointalk fit encourage new members improve or, you think say e day sometime discourage them from participating where you think say the balance should be ?

Constructive criticism na one of the things wey fit help you grow as a member of the bitcointalk forum and help you improve too. Most of the corrections or feedback from other senior members fit no Dey presented the wey e go suit you but that one no mean say e go discourage one from participating on the forum because na still part of learning. Human beings Dey different and dem get different means of correcting person, so make nobody feel discouraged about am, except you no wan grow.

In my opinion, you need both constructive criticism and sometimes harsh critique to be able to grow on the forum.  If someone calls your post nonsense, and you quit the forum because of that reason then you would not have lasted here anyways and I wonder if that is how you take on life.

As a newbie, your goal should be to improve yourself so why would you feel bad because someone pointed out your errors in a public forum. Tbh I don’t get how we are soft, especially since the Nigerian education system is so strict and use criticism as a go-to tool.

A lot of people ask funny questions that seem dumb that's the reason why some senior members might answer some questions in a manner that Seems rude but I don't support that, I think people should be given a chance to learn and when they ask a question it is important to give answers that would encourage and not discourage them.

Constructive criticisms is the best way to correct new members and I don't see any reason why this would discourage anyone, as long as these criticisms don't look condescending then I don't think the new member should have a problem with that

Lastly, some people have problems when it comes to taking correction, so no matter how you try to put your words together to encourage them they would always take it as though you are trying to discourage them and that's a wrong mentality.
