I also don’t include the bonus as part of my playing capital. But I tend to leave it at the casino if I feel like I’ve played enough. But if I still want to play, I’ll use the bonus right away to play. Some people might also count it as playing money, but I don’t think of it that way. I only count the amount I’ve deposited.
For serious gamblers, this can be important and they may count it. Its like VIP treatment because the reward depends on how much you gamble, but if you are not a regular gambler, then it may not really matter to you.

Now, should it be included in the gambler's result? If it becomes real withdrawable profit, then why not. But logically, casinos will not give bonuses that do not benefit them indirectly. So we should still understand that these rewards are designed to encourage more gambling, not simply to give free money.

A quick one. For those who like the idea of tracking their gambling performances, that is their losses and wins. Do you only focus on your losses and wins alone, or do you also track your rakebacks and Bonuses?

For example, your total losses for the month is $1000 and you somehow manage to get $150 back as your rakeback, would your say your total net loss is $850 or would you prefer to set your rakeback aside?
Actually I don't keep separate accounts but I do a summary every week. I allocate a certain amount of budget for gambling. There is a strong effort not to go beyond this and if necessary I reduce the amount of gambling because the chances of losing are much higher than winning.
At the end of the week I calculate how much is left from the funds allocated for gambling. If there is a profit, I try to set aside that amount of funds because if you can't enjoy the profit, winning will be useless for you. Withdraw the money you gain from gambling and spend it on your family. I prefer to do this.

So what happens if you get to flick that bonus into something huge, will you also consider it that way? During my university days i was fortunate to see myself do that. In my opinion, I will consider that as capital.
Keeping track of your loses and wins will see your organised overtime, you will always want to watch yourself so as not to overspend. Regardless of your loses and gains, it is mandatory I keep tracking how I have splurged in a week or month.
I’ve to understand that gamblers who worry or fear about overspending in gambling are those who either do not have a working budget or set limits when they gamble, or finds it difficult or impossible to stick to their budgets, that’s literally when you’ll fear or question whether you’re actually still within a reasonable budget deficit or you’ve gone or probably going out of line. But for someone who already have a budget, you already know how much is going into gambling every day/week/month/year and thus wouldn’t really have much need to calculate or wonder if you’re still in line.

I am not very conscious about calculating profit or loss in gambling. But I try to be conscious about money allocation. Although it is not easy for me to follow the bankroll for several weeks continuously. Although keeping track of profit or loss is very important for everyone, many gamblers may not do it due to laziness. When I was new to gambling, I used to follow a fixed amount of allocation, but gradually it got out of my control and I am trying to regain discipline.

If a fixed amount of money can be allocated for gambling every week and if it is followed properly, it will be easier to maintain control over gambling and the risk of addiction will be reduced to a great range.

I do not consider Rakeback to be part of the balance I have in gambling activities, even though I have calculated my capital, winnings and losses in gambling activities.

My gambling capital is separate, as are the results I get while betting and also the losses I suffer, right? The point is that what I consider a bonus is not recorded in my gambling notebook, I think the Rakeback is a bonus, so it doesn't count.

The point is that everyone has different views in calculating their winnings and losses in gambling, including Rakeback, but everything that is calculated and done does not have a negative impact on the gambler himself, for me the calculation of wins and losses is important.

Not everyone has the same perspective on gambling and it never will be. I do not include the loss or gain of money through gambling as part of Rakeback income. The main goal of gambling is to enjoy entertainment, nothing more. I think that if we only focus on profit or loss through gambling, the gambler's financial loss will be greater because when the gambler keeps a profit or loss account, greed or emotion increases relatively, so the gambler's risk of losing money through gambling increases many times over, so the gambler loses self-control and faces financial loss. I gamble only with the money I can lose, so I do not think it is necessary to keep a record of winning or losing through gambling, the main goal of a gambler through gambling should be entertainment.

I never put rakeback into the calculation of capital that has been issued, only monthly bonuses that are often my benchmark for knowing the extent of gambling spending every month. In fact, I very rarely claim a rakeback bonus every time I play, because maybe my gambling volume is not too big so that the rackback is certainly small.

It would be good if everyone was as conscious as you are about not spending too much on gambling. You may have started gambling with a fixed amount of funds but the situation may be such that you are not able to limit yourself to that fixed amount. In this situation, your losses will increase and if this situation continues regularly, you will become destitute for a while.

Realizing that if the money available to a gambler is exhausted, it will have a negative impact on him, only if he can maintain gambling discipline will it be possible for him to establish control over himself.

Yes I totally agree with you and making a budget for gambling is a very good idea. Whenever a person makes a budget and gambles within that budget he never becomes addicted to gambling and he always gambles within the limits of discipline. I prefer to make a weekly budget, like every week I make a budget of $40 or $20 so that I can gamble for the whole month. Sometimes it is seen that many people make a budget on a monthly basis and finish their entire budget within a week or two. So whenever a weekly budget is made if he finishes the entire amount in one go then he has to wait for 6 days and can play again from the next week

Although keeping track of profit or loss is very important for everyone, many gamblers may not do it due to laziness. When I was new to gambling, I used to follow a fixed amount of allocation, but gradually it got out of my control and I am trying to regain discipline.

They are not lazy, maybe they feel that keeping track of profit and loss is pointless since they are just doing it for fun, moreover they are betting with what they can afford to loss so it doesn't matter. I personally does not like tracking profit and loss, if you ask me how many profit I have made so far in gamble I can't possibly give you the right answer to that question because i can't even remember when last I had wining from gamble. But I agree with you on the fact that tracking profit and loss is important because it can also help you see your gambling performance.

Rakebacks are like income in gambling because it adds positive balance to the player. This is the reason some people consider the percentage rakebacks in choosing their casinos. I treat rakebacks as winning because it comes with no wagering requirements and no condition whatsoever. It is not just encouraging to make the rakebacks a target since it's best to treat it as bonus rather anything else.

I only track my wins and loses , because I'm not a party to those bonus,I do not even use them most times,so I don't really bother much about it ,my concern and concentration is always on how much I have lost and my winning,if I'm progressing or I'm on the losing side ,so I can know how to adjust my gambling habit, but channeling my focus on bounse or Rakeback is totally out of it ,such record helps in one managing there bankroll.

Rakebacks are more like cashbacks that the gambling site gives based on the amount of wager placed on bets and every betting site have their own way of calculating it. So if there was a chance that I use rakebacks and the outcome is a winning, I would definitely calculate it as part of my wins because "a win is a win" after all.

The bonuses could be helpful if you consider it carefully, nothing too small but it could boost your wager amount so it's not completely useless.

First of all the example is something wrong because rakeback is not counted based on your loss but based on your wager.
Maybe you need to change it to cashback if you want to make the question better or on the correct point of view.
Anyway, I will not count my net loss that way because if I want to track my gambling activity, it will be so complicated to calculate if all bonuses are included.
The most simple way is to track deposit and withdrawal only to count the net loss.

As long as the rakeback can be used for placing a bet and if won withdrew, then it shouldn't be calculated among the net loses, because if you never wagered that $1000, you never would have gotten the $150 that was given back as rakeback. So for me, I think the rakeback still stands as a potential capital, but inasmuch as there is no condition to it and it can be used to bet on all the casinos games.

First of all the example is something wrong because rakeback is not counted based on your loss but based on your wager.
Maybe you need to change it to cashback if you want to make the question better or on the correct point of view.
Yes, you are actually right, because from O.P's explanation, what he is referring to is cashback and not rakeback, because since cashback is been rewarded to a gambler base on the volume of the bet he or she wagered during a certain period of time, not minding it he won or lose, rakeback on the other hand is that reward that is been issued to a gambler base on the volume of their loses.

I prefer to check for my actual winnings and losses, anything that came from rakebacks don't count because at the end of the day I would have lost that money if it wasn't given back to me so while I might have gotten it back that bet was still a loss and I count it as one, this way I don't give myself any false hope that I won when I actually lost. Different things work for different people though so others can just count it all as winnings.

Why should we not include something that can be counted as money not lost for us when I am judging my losses against my wins for me as it gives me reason if I'm still going to continue gambling or stop for the day. I count every money that I do not loss only as my gain when gambling, as you should already know how difficult it is to win this days that is why anything that gives me profits is seen as a win.

Maybe in the past I would not have reason it but that is not going to be what I do now for the rakebacks, while I will do this, I would not put all my hopes of it happening often which is getting the rakebacks as that will take my mind off actually winning some bets and that is why I keep an open mind towards something like this. The more I gambling, the more I look for every opportunity to take money off the casinos because of how much I have lost to them but I don't do revenge gambling as l already know how that is going to end.

I never put rakeback into the calculation of capital that has been issued, only monthly bonuses that are often my benchmark for knowing the extent of gambling spending every month. In fact, I very rarely claim a rakeback bonus every time I play, because maybe my gambling volume is not too big so that the rackback is certainly small.
Before even registering for an online gambling account I never even knew what rakeback was only when my bonuses tab showed the option to receive it is when I was fully aware it existed.
Most gamblers who just place bets and don't check each and every tab in their casino account probably doesn't even know it exists until somebody points it out so they can continue playing once they balance goes to zero.
I do remember when first started watching some large gamblers who live streamed their viewers would ask them to just claim the rakeback on their accounts so to continue going on with the session. This must of been back nine years ago so not every site had this option integrated on their platform but now almost every casino site has it available to their players. It is less of a perk on an online casino and more like a necessity to keep competitive now adays.

I think a thread of this kind has been created before, just that I can't find it right now  but I remember commenting on that particular thread, but that's by the way. And to answer your question OP, I don't  Include Rakeback in my gambling results, because I simply don't track my winnings and loses because there is no point tracking them. I gamble because I want to have fun and entertain myself through gambling, and not mainly for profit making.

Although,  i don’t think gamblers will really consider adding such to be part of their calculation especially when it eventually contributes as another loss after another round of gambling, it automatically gets tracked btw, if it end up adding extra profit .. But it’s worth tracking everything just like a normal deposit.

I don’t get that much bonuses from Casino and I don’t track any of those..

Think about this very well and read your post again. Is it making sense? Do not mind me if you think that I am not friendly with this post. That is because the question on this topic is a no-brainer question that even a small boy can perfectly answer. It is like you said part of my food fel5l down, but someone offer me small food which is not up to the one that wasted to be counted as food or not.

But there is a nuance here. OP's question isn't entirely unreasonable either.
He probably wants to know if those who track gambling performance only look at the outcome of bets or do they also factor in rewards.

From cash accounting point of view, yeah, you are right, how decreased your wallet/bankroll, it can be found by calculating Net loss.
But you probably understood OPs original question a little differently. He probably wants to know how his gambling performance was? Will he see betting results and rewards separately? A serious gambler will usually get a clearer idea by keeping two metrics.

Gambling P/L: Bet win/loss only
Total P/L: Gambling P/L + rakeback/bonus/cashback
Both are needed because one will tell you how your strategy is working. And other one will tell you how much your bankroll is actually affected.

The reason why many gamblers becomes addicts is because of the facts that there is no proper record keeping that helps to monitor there bankroll to checkmate if losses is in the increase or profits are dropping. Then one will be able to adjust either from losing more or keep gambling. Rackback helps to know exactly how much a gambler has lose from the recovery or wining made after losing a certain amount during a gambling section. So one a specifically state how much was ost and won.
