which is why I don't see any value in including them in my gambling statistics.
well, if you don't want to keep track of your own that is your business.
but it's completely unreasonable to say that tracking rakeback or bonus is an unnecessary complication.

if OP loses $1000 and later get $150 in cash rakeback then his actual net result is not $1000 loss but $850 loss. if that $150 is excluded from his statistic then he will not be able to understand his financial performance correctly.

There is nothing truly profitable about gambling because, in the end, most people end up losing. That's why I never keep track of either.
It does not make sense atall. rather, tracking is even more important because we are losing. If I keep thinking I lost $500 but at the same time I got $100 cashback, $50 bonus and other promotion then I will have a distorted picture of my own performance.

Anyone could easily misjudge how much gambling is costing them if he doesn't keep track of his overall activity. Tracking actually doesn't urge us to bet more. But it can help us understand when to quit.

There is nothing truly profitable about gambling because, in the end, most people end up losing. That's why I never keep track of either. For me, tracking my losses as well as my rakeback and bonuses only makes things more complicated, while I simply want to place my bets without burdening myself with unnecessary thoughts. So even if I receive rakeback or weekly or monthly bonuses, I usually just use them to place more bets, which is why I don't see any value in including them in my gambling statistics.
I also do the same thing you like as you, when I made the monthly bankroll for gambling I assume that like it would gone but also with the hope of profit because if some how the luck of mine work? But in my case I do track the losses and even some time put that on graph to check my status: am I going to on that way which I shouldn't be.

Now the answers of main question when I recerive the rakeback bonuses I put them in wager again, some time it give me a feeling like "they disappeared like they never existed", lol. Have time have some tiny profit.

In fact i had never seen it from this point of view, honest and interesting as a way of thinking.
even if it's not money that you can't withdraw it's still money that is useful for playing, so right.
Your way of thinking is absolutely right.
Some players are the ones who make things complicated for themselves by trying to calculate profit and loss in a very confused way. When checking how much was deposited, how much was won and withdrawing, it doesn't matter what the winnings comes if bonus contributed or not. What should be focused on is what the total at the end of the day.

The reason some player's make emphasis on the winning from the bonuses is because of the conditions that comes with most bonuses on casinos, most times is almost impossible to calculate that most especially when a player is able to win some good amount from those bonuses but have no clue which percentage come in from the bonuse and which one comes from their own personal despites, sometimes is because this mix up that this why you see such questions, but for me I just avoid any form of bonuses unless it a cashback from my previous wagering.

The high terms and condition surrounding free gifts can be trap and thus the players may not find it easy to cash in their money. Most individual do not know the extent of the amount that they end up having after scoring big. The best course is to disregard the bonus being offered and just get cashback. This is quick and easy way of keeping your money safe, without complicated calculations.

I think it would be better if you included your rakeback, since you still have it and can be justified as still yours, but if, after betting with it and you lost it, you could then say that you have lost it and calculate the total lost as your whole deposit.

So for the example you gave, it could be said that the loss is still at 850 dollars, because your balance is still at 150 dollars because of the rakeback, but then if you lost the money you got from rakeback, it would become the entire 1000 dollars you deposited. So, including rakeback isn't a bad idea when calculating your losses and your wins.

A quick one. For those who like the idea of tracking their gambling performances, that is their losses and wins. Do you only focus on your losses and wins alone, or do you also track your rakebacks and Bonuses?

For example, your total losses for the month is $1000 and you somehow manage to get $150 back as your rakeback, would your say your total net loss is $850 or would you prefer to set your rakeback aside?

To get a genuine result on your net lost, under stating how much total you invested and how much profits made should be estimated then, calculate result in plus and minus and get it actual result of your bets outcome.
The result determines your position if you're on profits of loses. It also doesn't matter the inclusive bonuses and free offers.
What matters is when considered your bank rolls, is the outcome based on your balance in profits or lost. Bonuses too is in accountable in as much you can withdraw it.

I don't keep much of a record because I spend very little money on gambling and I rarely participate in gambling. However, if gambling is just for fun and costs very little money, I should still keep a record of my profit and loss. Because if I spend $10 this week and lose $10, I should keep a record of that too. If I make $5 from $10, I should keep a record of that too. However, I never keep these records for bonuses and I don't constantly use new casino platforms for bonuses. I use only one casino platform and I only gamble there for fun in my free time.

For me I like to keep the numbers what they are. If you at like the 150 isn’t apart of it and still lose it just because that its free I feel like that I still money at one point you had in your pocket and if you had the chance to withdraw it and keep it then it should be counted in your total at the end of the day, but that’s just my take.

Yes, this is the biggest thing. Also, people always love to tell success stories, but no one wants to reveal how many failures are hidden behind success. In the same way, they rarely talk about how many people have lost money in gambling, but out of these, the success stories of two or three people who have won money in gambling are published. And after seeing these, many people get involved in gambling again.
Also, when a gambler wins a bet after losing a hundred bets, he forgets about his previous losses and gets the excitement of gambling again.
But I think in the case of gambling, one should not always forget about the possibility of losing money in the past.
The bottom line is that it cannot be considered as a source of income, it should be remembered that it is only a test of luck using discretionary income where you can be lucky or unlucky.

~snip~

Yeah, any rewards I get from the casino whether it’s cashback, rakeback, etc. I’ll count them as part of the result when I gamble. Although I don’t count all of them from the past tho for example, if I deposit $50 in one session and get rakeback after losing my deposit I’ll think of it as a second chance where there’s a possibility that I can get my deposit back if I hit a good spin. But sometimes with rakeback I tend to spend more time gambling than I could if I didn’t get it.

I believe that in calculating the overall gambling result. Rakeback should also be taken into account, and that the final result should be the main one. It's a component of the returns you receive for your bets. And disregarding it can alter your actual payouts. Rakeback however is not to be leveraged to sustain losses or to give an impression of profits. It is important to keep track of the separate details of deposit. Withdrawals wins losses bonuses and rakeback to have a clearer picture. However most importantly, gamblers should keep in mind that sometimes they win and sometimes they lose.

I personally don't record any rakeback or bonuses in my gamblers results. In my opinion they are two separate things: Win/loss will show us how good our betting strategy is, and rakeback is simply a partial return of what we have already paid.

Rakeback skews the record if combined with win/loss, even bad play can appear "not that bad". Also, the amount of rakeback fluctuates from month to month, so it can be difficult to compare results consistently.

If you'd like to know how much you've gained in your wallet, you can write it down separately. However, if you’re interested in just viewing pure betting performance, then I'd prefer to only see the win/loss.

if I deposit $50 in one session and get rakeback after losing my deposit I’ll think of it as a second chance where there’s a possibility that I can get my deposit back if I hit a good spin.
You'll have to change your this habit because doing such a thing will make you lose the money that you get as rake back. it's not possible to recover the loss from the money that we get as rake back, it's also not easy to hit good spins with the rake back amount. The better approach is to withdraw the rake back and not to gamble for few days. After a few days one may start gambling again with responsibility. Such will prevent huge losses and will also protect one from getting addicted to gambling.

Some of us casual gamblers don't track our gambling performance because we don't take it very seriously as fun seekers and that is why we use small amounts that we can conveniently lose to gamble therefore there is no need to be tracking whether we're in profit or loses. But for those who gamble for money and would like to know there progress whether they're making profit or not they can minus their rakebacks from their total lose to get their real lose or net lose because the rakebacks should be seen as a part of lose recovery. If your rakebacks becomes more than your loses it becomes a real win for you so your take rakeback after loses would determine whether you're still at a lose or you recovered and become profitable.

If your goal is to track all performance across your gambling activity then yes, it's part of the endeavour to keep your rakeback in there with your calculations because at the end of the day it does affect your ending balance.

On the other hand, if you're here to play and enjoy you should consider that rakeback is just another way to trick players into spending more. You end up thinking you'll earn something back just by playing but the house edge is still there and the EV remains negative for the player at all times.

If your rakebacks becomes more than your loses it becomes a real win for you so your take rakeback after loses would determine whether you're still at a lose or you recovered and become profitable.

That it needs to be taken into consideration in the overall effect, especially for more avid gamers. I would look at it as an additional recovery source, though, and not just as a way to offset losses. For example, if a player loses $100 and receives $20 for rakeback. They will be $80 in the hole. Meaning that they have $20 to pay off the $100 they lost. Gives a more accurate idea of the cost of playing. With that being said. Rakeback is not a sure bet for profits as it typically relies on the volume of play that you make and can need to invest more funds in order to get it.

For example, your total losses for the month is $1000 and you somehow manage to get $150 back as your rakeback, would your say your total net loss is $850 or would you prefer to set your rakeback aside?
To me the issue will be more clear if you keep the two things separate. Suppose you have a total betting result of $1000 loss, and then you get $150 rakeback, then the Gross Result will be -$1000, Rakeback +$150 and the Effective Net Result will be -$850. If you keep it like this, just looking at the last $850 will not make you think that the actual loss in the game was less.

But another thing is that it is not right to treat all bonuses or rakeback as cash, If a bonus cannot be withdrawn or has a wagering requirement, then it should not be added directly to the net result like the $150 received. So, then your total lost can be -1000. So when tracking personally, I would say that it will be more accurate to keep Gross, Rakeback, and Withdrawable Bonus in separate.

Even though I only win two times out of my 1000 bets I placed, I won't track my gambling performance as I'm not bothered to know about my performance. If my total losses for a month is $1000 and I manage to get $150 back as my rakeback bonus, yes, I will say my total net loss is $850 because I had the been I didn't bet there's no way I would had $150 as rakeback bonus.

Those that are tracking their gambling results are doing it because they are not gambling for fun and are not using only their discretionary income. When you are gambling for fun and you are using only your discretionary income, you won’t be checking how much you have lost in gambling and how much you have won. I don’t check those things because any amount of money I loss in gambling is money that won’t affect me in anyway because is my discretionary income, so why should I be tracking my gambling results. Do you guys also track how much you spend in drinking beer Grin.
The way people see gambling are usually different, some see gambling as a source of income, some see it as a fun place and some even see it as where they can get money for their future financial stability.
Those that only see it as a place for fun, don’t bother themselves with all this gambling results of a thing.
