Hope keeps your dream alive, you can't get to keep trying (Whatever it may be) when there is no hope. My elder brother do tell me that, what keeps an older man going is still hope, once you loss Hope, your world is crumbled and nothing to live for.

I understand the perspective of that man in the image, the more he keep predicting and trying, the more hope he gets. For instance, a sports bettors losses hope when he no longer has a running slip at all left, he regains hope after he grab slip of games again. That's what the image is talking about.

To me, that’s just playing with words. The bottom line is this: if you can't break free from gambling. Or if you keep pinning high hopes on it but lack self-control. Leading to compulsive and irresponsible behavior. Then you are addicted. Do not use semantics to deny that reality. Above all, avoid becoming addicted to gambling.

If want to be a gambler. Be a responsible one. Ultimately, practice responsible gambling. Implement strict bankroll management! maintain full self-control! and don't pin your hopes on gambling!

Hope itself is not really the addiction. But the belief that a slot machine will bring that hope to life is the issue. This article actually only makes it clear that those addicts who think this is true are someone who denies with himself.

They know they are addicted but try to wrap it up as if they are not addicted to gambling but are addicted in hopes of getting winnings from gambling. Though this is just a play on words to make what they do is considered not bad but of course those who have rational thinking will realize that this is a wrong way and should not deny it.

Denial of yourself and do not assume that they are not gambling addicts when obviously they are addicts this will only make us be in the same circle without anyone can bring out but because gambling addicts are sometimes the average person who is very difficult to tell then things like that happen where they will wrap their addiction with words or motivation to ease their guilt .

Hope is what keeps people to believe that they will succeed in the future so of course, most gamblers are addicted to the idea that despite their losses today that they will make it big in the future and that is where hope come into play. That notwithstanding, hope is the poor man's bread because they believe that the future will be better even though there are uncertainties that surrounds it. Being addicted to hope does not only applies to gambling, it also applies to other things that is why you see people trying one thing over and over again because they are being hopeful that they will do it rightly one day.

For me, it do really ends up just like some sort of excuse on trying out to ease up yourself or convince that you arent addicted to gambling and thats why you do came up with this kind of approach. Hope has been defined in so many ways according to ones understanding and when it relates to gambling addiction being hope, I don't think being hopeful should mean being wasteful or being financially indebted or irresponsible because of the big dream of winning big.

For someone to wear that shirt in a casino, it’s obvious he’s addicted to gambling. I don’t think there is anything like being addicted to hope, you only keep hoping that one day you will win a big amount one day after you become addicted. People who are not addicted to gaming can easily stop because they don’t keep hoping for anything, they realize that gambling is not their thing anymore.

Sure, hoping to win always results in losses, but the moment you lose a lot of money, you become confident that you can use the remaining cash to continue playing. In all honesty, I am not going to listen to what’s is on his t-shirt but I am going to watch his actions and behavior. By doing so I’d be able to tell if he is really “addicted to hope” if there’s anything as such or actually addicted to gambling. Behavioral exhibitions don’t lie.
Besides, addiction is use in the negative and it cannot be related to some as positive as “hope”.

There is truth in what you said but the thing is that one should be mindful and careful when gambling because engaging in irresponsible gambling can lead one into temptation that might ruin their lives which will definitely affect their loved ones and that is why it’s encouraged for one to bet the game with the understanding that nothing is guaranteed in that game and for that reason, the game will be enjoyable if they stay grounded to the rules.
