I don't think there is any difference between someone who is addicted to winning money in gambling and someone who is addicted to gambling. Yes, there is a possibility of winning money in gambling, so here it can be said that they are addicted to winning money, but the two things are the same.
When people gamble, they gamble to win.
In that case, they bet first, second, third, fourth,,,, and so on, mainly to win money. Again, if they bet and lose, they gamble again to get back the lost money, that is, to win money. Or if they win, they bet again with the greed of winning more money.

It is play on words but truth is he likes to gamble and is hoping to win big

Every gambler hopes to win so the idea of being addicted to that hope is unrealistic, though this is definitely what a gambling addict will say to make themselves feel better, plus it's also like some kind of an acceptable on what is actually happening to them, and to affirm that they don't plan on stopping their gambling addiction anytime soon, as long as they haven't won something big yet, if I meet someone like this I'd probably just let them be.

Absolutely, gamblers wishes to win when they stack high level of placing game, the idea of being addicts to that hope is unconditional yes it is play on words but the fact is that gamblers gambling because he is hoping he can win some big price one day to make one self better. But if he doesn't plan to stop his gambling addiction i think as long as he haven't win anything big enough he can't stop yet until he wins some big price that's when he can consider to stop or to bigin once again.

They are addicted to hope so they want to win. They don't even thinks that play gambling makes them addicted and still return to casino and playing the games. They will not say that they are addicted to gambling so it is hard to tells that they are addicted.

Many times those people make not sense so we might difficult to understand their mind. We can suggest them or saying they are addicted but they will not easily accepted instead will says that they just playing the game but they have a hope to win.

If there is no hope, no dreams then humanity would come to an end pretty quickly. I know I sound dramatic but it is the truth, the shirt on that guy may be as a funny statement yet every single gambler including me have objectives when playing even when someone is fully addicted they still have objectives. This guy just want to be funny in a meaningful way and that statement looks good and also give hope to people feeling hopeless which is a good thing. I like these type of guys honestly finding fun even in the middle of big losing sessions.

Admittedly, hope is an important driving force in our life. But I think the word hope is used a bit misleadingly here. If that hope repeatedly push you into an action where your losses are high then it is no longer just hope. Have you heard of near miss in slot machine? Just play one more time and maybe I'll win, that kind of feeling can keep you playing longer than real possibility.

Many gamblers say to themselves, I'm not addicted to gambling, I'm just playing to win big. It's actually a false excuse, it's not really hope, it's addiction.

Such players will most often refuse our help, claiming they don't need it at all, even though deep down they know it might be just what they need. I've noticed in my circles that such players live in this hope of success, as if it will change their lives for the better, but more often than not, it turns out to be the opposite: they're gradually ruining their lives with this desire. I understand that every player wants to believe in the best, but it's important to at least adequately assess the risks and stay within those limits.
