This is truly a fantastic story. It's hard to even believe. Too many events coincided for someone to even have the chance to find a lottery ticket. It's truly fate itself taking pity on them.

I hope all participants receive a generous reward. They certainly deserve it. Let them enjoy their gift. I hope this person isn't so stingy after all and does everything perfectly.
Yeah some stories are Dem hard to believe but I guess some are true, I guess the guy was just luck Enough to have gotting in contact with the waste management and his ticket recovered, it was indeed luck otherwise how on earth will a ticket mixed in a watery garbage dump be clean to recover the ticket without a missing ID number. The man should repay the founder of that ticket with kindness for being honest as a generous reward, As it will encourage others to do well when this kind issue repeat itself.

Btw, if you were that lucky guy, how much would you pay waste management and guy or bunch of then who were digging in garbage in search for your ticket? Cheesy If one million can be a life changer, then if you give them 100 bucks or even a thousand, they would say that you are greedy mf’er Cheesy Or guy would be a real jerk if he would buy the a bottle of whiskey for their help.

Anyway, that is really a miracle to find that ticket if you just imagine how much garbage must they have gone throught to find it. Because numerous trucks with tonns of garbage come to junkyard without stop all working day.

If the win is not by a huge amount, maybe that person would not even make a big effort to look for their raffle ticket. Indeed, people like the cleaning staff who also help with the search are also lucky for that person. It proves that if you are really lucky, the win will not slip away, even if it takes extra effort to get it.

But let's say that he risked a lot, if he was lucky there were others who never found the ticket again.
Let's say that it was a special case, too special and too rare, so rare that it made the news, not so much for the win itself but for the double luck that no one certainly expected.

Was the protagonist drunk when he checked the winning numbers against his ticket?
It appears to be a big misunderstanding [if I were to guess, I'd say there's a high chance the winner is functionally illiterate and when the machine she used to scan the ticket showed "non-payable (a message shown for winning large amounts that can't be paid in local shops)", she thought it was worthless].

This whole story sounds like a fairy tale with a happy ending. What a civilized country, populated by honest people! - Such thoughts come to mind. I imagine that in another country, this ticket would have left a trail of a mountain of corpses... before he got to the winner of the "stabbing lottery."

Moreover, such stories periodically appear in the press with enviable regularity, and always about the lottery or about an incredible jackpot or something like that. No, I'm not denying the possibility of such cases or that it's made up, but after such stories, for some reason, I want to buy a lottery ticket. And probably not just me. Why is that? Cheesy

An anonymous player disposed of the ticket in a shop in southern Italy. They believed that it was non-payable after checking the number, so he trashed it. When the player returned home, their family reportedly pointed out that their favorite numbers had been drawn. They rushed to the shop together and discovered that the tickets had been thrown away and collected by refuse disposers.

After the player made contact with the refuse company, the bin lorry was located, and luckily its contents were not compacted for disposal. After a two-day search, the winning ticket was reportedly found by a waste worker, with the workers cheering as if they had won the prize themselves.

The lottery winner had signed a declaration promising to cover the search costs. I also hope he gives the waste workers a big tip.

Sometimes, even garbage can change people luck, I would not have known this story if I had not read it. It is really interesting that the waste workers helped him find the ticket with great sincerity. However, it would have been nice to be sure whether the lottery winner had kept his promise to cover the search costs. Sometimes I wonder why this kind of incident has not happened to me, such incidents are only seen in stories or on the internet, but in real life, this has not happened to anyone my known. I have bought many lotteries so far but have not won a big jackpot yet. However, I hope that one day I will win a big jackpot.

You are not reading the story guys. According to it, the owner of the ticket was paying the company for the search, so there was already an agreement that they would help find it and they would still be paid for the service anyway, whether they found the ticket or not. And since they actually found it, maybe aside from the agreed payment, the people who helped recover the ticket could also receive some kind of bonus.

I have never understood people who so frivolously throw away lottery tickets even before they are absolutely sure of all the results And then they realize what they have done and ask others to work for themselves. And of course, I would like to note the impeccable work of the waste workers who were able to find this lottery ticket, and I believe that the winner should pay about 30%, if not more, for all their efforts, because without them he would not have seen his prize at all, because any workers could just tear up such a No one would get a ticket or anything. Well, we'll see how these people will manage, but they definitely shouldn't be greedy in this situation, because it was only because of the scavengers that they were able to see their prize, which is huge in monetary terms.

Personally I don't believe this is a fairy tale though, because this also happened in a bet shop I was working some years back. This regular customer of mine always comes to the shop to place some bet. And this particular day after booking the ticket, there was one particular game he played and the game was playing against what he predicted. So, he lost confidence and tore the ticket right in front of me. But in the end, the team he had bet on won the game, and every other game on the ticket won too.

He later found out and came to claim his money but my manager asked for the ticket, just to confirm that he was the owner of the game but he couldn't provide it and was trying to explain. To cut the story short, my manager ended up not giving the customer that money.

We dont really know what their agreement was, but 30% would be too much if we base it only on the effort they did. Thats around €300k already.

Things could also change once the ticket was actually found, and Im not even sure if something like $2k would be the right amount to pay for the search. But for me thats not really the important part.

What Im more curious about is whether the winner gave something extra to the people who actually found the ticket, because that part was not mentioned in the report either. So I think these kinds of speculations are normal. I also read someone saying the whole story feels like a fairy tale with a happy ending, and yeah, it really does.

It is very natural that if a ticket is not saved after purchasing it, then even if it is a winner, there will be no chance of accepting it as a winner due to lack of proof. In this case, his ticket must be saved. If he could have shown the entire part of the ticket to the authority, they could have considered the matter, but in general, in that situation, paying for the ticket can be more complicated. It is also necessary to verify whether the ticket is his or not.

There are some people who are almost indifferent to everything. They even don't check the lottery ticket with the results. In this case, if the gambler is not careful, such a situation will be created for them. If I were the owner of a casino gambling, I would not give the lottery winnings to someone who cannot show his ticket.

In this concern the lottery winner did not match the numbers with his full attention due to which he was in such a situation. Although he is lucky that he finally got the ticket thrown away. We have learned a lesson from this incident that nothing should be thrown away without checking it properly. Winning the lottery is a matter of luck, so there is no chance of thinking that you will not be lucky. Anyone can be lucky. Again, he made a mistake but after realizing that mistake, he took quick action due to which he was able to recover the lost lottery. And since the workers enabled him to get the lottery in such a situation, I think it would be a good decision if the workers were given a little more reward.
It wasn't about not matching the numbers carefully, the winner was either checking it through an automated system and was shown the message that said the ticket was non-payable, or someone who checked it told them, but they didn't understand or realize what it actually meant, because non-payable doesn't mean that the ticket has not won anything, but it means that the shop isn't able to pay the reward as it is too big, and it has to collected from a regional office or something.

The winner was obviously lucky for the waste workers to be able to find the ticket, and then when it was found, it was still in good condition that the winner could redeem the reward with it, because imagine if the ticket was torn in pieces, or got too dirty to be readable, then the person would never get the reward. They will obviously give some reward to the workers who helped them find the ticket, but probably not that high, because 1 million euros might be a big amount, but it's not that big for one to keep giving away large amounts like that.

So many gamblers have lost their opportunity through this way and they never had the opportunity to amend it.
Losing a lottery ticket can be frustrating after you find out that the ticket has the chances of making you rich. I don't know why some gamblers easily give up before there jubilating day. If he was not able to find the ticket, that would have been a bitter experience for the gambler and the family and its will become a remarkable experience and also serve as warning to so many gamblers to be smart without concluding about a bet that the outcome is not known.

When a gambler or a person has a different idea and his guess will not pay off. It is not impossible to throw away or tear the ticket from such thinking. Lucky for him, he threw the ticket into the basket of a shop he knew. In my opinion gambler should, give some tips to garbage cleaners. Because they would not have been able to get the ticket without their help.

Based on the facts of this incident, it seems that all my tickets in the past should not have been thrown away. Because I used to love playing lottery since childhood and the draw took a long time, i used to get frustrated and waste the ticket without checking the result.

What truly boggling on this case is on how a waste worker do able to spot out that ticket as a winning one? Is this out of curiosity and interest on checking out those tickets considering if there are some other tickets as well that on the bin? This is why it would really be that hard to believe on this case on which we can really be able to say that it is somewhat impossible on such manner. If this one is really that indeed true and having those arrangements on getting those winnings back and been given by the waste worker then its great but hopefully the winner would really be that giving out some decent gift amount rather than on few dollars on which considering the winning that they are getting. Well, its not an obligation but at least showing that respect and gratitude.

Sometimes I wonder why this kind of incident has not happened to me, such incidents are only seen in stories or on the internet, but in real life, this has not happened to anyone my known.

Cheesy, lol I have practical lesson here besides luck. If winner had not contacted to refusal company immediately then his ticket might have been lost permanently. And he also gave declaration to cover search cost, so it would not be right to say that workers effort was completely unpaid favor.

Honestly, Why doesn't this happen to mm,, Cheesy , we can all think that too. But seeing stories like this you should not think that winning chance in lottery is high. It is news precisely because such event is so rare. If rare event is taken as normal outcome then gambler can easily jump to wrong conclusion.
