Well im here just to make the proper post missing from my part and for my team since i have that task. Maybe we change the name later, but until now is gonna be like that, i ahve to take some beers or coofee with the guys to discuss it further.

Bro.. I didn't know we'd be competing against chocolate! Well it doesn't matter.. we don't do chocolate around these parts, so it'll be a pleasure defeating this Nutella thing. As for the Mafia, we aren't afraid of them, we made sure to show them who's boss during the World Cup so bring them back!

So, if I did my math correctly, we currently have 13 "safe" teams and 6 more free and interested members from which 2 additional teams could be formed for the competition?
Do you think anyone else could join by Friday or Saturday?
The first RTG competition was fantastic and I'm sure the second edition will be even better, so I'm even a little disappointed that more teams didn't apply.
Maybe we could have a "one man" team again to at least get to 16 teams, so that everyone can play in each round?

Everybody will play in each round no matter if we have 16 teams, less or more - we will use the current CL format which puts all teams in 1 big group.
You'll play 8 games in the group against randomly drawn teams, and then at least 2 more in the knockouts.

It's always difficult to match the World Cup promos - these are the biggest and everybody wants to be a part of these. We're quite happy with 16 teams (or close to that) - that's almost 50 people.

Great guys, thanks Capi for formalizing the administrative requirements. On the other hand, I think Guilmes or Guinness, either one will do or any other will work too Anyway!! It's going to be a long and demanding season; "good luck" to everyone who participates, but not when they face our team.

The captain got the whole squad back together and ready to go further than we did in the world cup RTG. This is a much longer tournament, would be a marathon not the sprint that the world cup was. We hopefully got the endurance and depth in squad to go all the way.

Although I'm less active in the football related things, still I'm interested in joining a team as a normal team member by paying 1 mBTC fee. I can see that everyone with good knowledge and prediction skills in football has already made some strong squads. So, I doubt there are any good participants left to make a team.

Not of course because I think it's not great, but because this format is more demanding in the sense that you have to cooperate with other members of your team, and not many people on the forum are willing to do that, especially when it means putting some of their own money into it.

I know someone could fear or dont want to bet but come on is a single bet of $10, it really worth the try.

Many on bitcointalk live off sig money so for them even a $10 bet  (+ participation fee) is an unnecessary expense. I recall one member asking in WC RTG whether he would have to bet with his own money, meaning it was seen as a problem.

Anyway, I can't wait for it to start as CL is a perfect competition for this format.

I would have agreed that it’s surprising seeing many people willing to join if this was the first edition but I think the World Cup edition had the excitement that many people who participated there wanted to have a go again at it plus those who missed out wanted to actually part of it. I am even surprised that the 16 teams are yet to be formed because I was expecting more in a short period of time.

I actually agree with that people need to understand that this actually requires each members time as tasks will be shared but I think this champions league edition will be mostly less stressful since there will be more days from deadline day submission unlike the World Cup edition.

Is this still open for members? If yes I would like to participate. I have some spare money from cryptofrka. If it is possible you can add me.

There is still available team. Currently there are 13 teams already with projected 16 teams needed while some members have actually shown interest and are yet to form a team. You can actually go through the thread and PM those members to see if you can form a team or at least just show interest and you might be added to a team later if you cannot form one yourself

I think maybe that also makes more people join, i mean maybe in other cases you receive a message from the organizer and you just let it pass but when you also receive a message from other players asking you to join them if you have some good relationship with them you feel like you have to take part and you cant let them play without you if they are needing you.

It's difficult to speculate about the motives of other forum members, their personal situations, interests, etc.
The fact is that the gambling section is the most active part of this forum, with a lot of active members, but unfortunately I think the main reason for that are the signature campaigns and not a real interest in sports or betting.
When someone creates such an interesting and very attractive competition, then real sports and football enthusiasts come forward, and it seems that, unfortunately, there are not too many such members in this forum.
It doesn't matter, and the competition with 16 teams will be very exciting and suspenseful, similar to the first edition of RTG connected with the World Cup in football.
