Of course, there are positive sides to gambling, but I think society sees more of the negative side of it. If there are gamblers who really just have fun with the game and the bets they make don’t stress them out, that could be your point. But I think the reality today might not be like that.

Yes, there are many differences between the reality of the past and the reality of the present, which we can understand only if we look at the motive of the gambler for entering the game of gambling. In the past, people gambled to enjoy themselves and entered the game of gambling with as much money as they could afford to lose, and some people gambled to relieve loneliness. But nowadays, most people are unemployed,

Truly, sports have grown larger, and that's because of the football hype. Now, add the number of gamblers in the world, and it has grown further as gambling adds more excitement to the sport. In fact, most gambler do exact opposite. Most gambler try to recoup their loss. Sometime they show overconfidence and make emotional decision, which later lead to bigger loss. So, your claim can only be true if you are aware of your potential by practicing self control and bankroll management in advance.

To me, gambling is like a tool. You cannot judge this tool as good or bad. Rather how you use it will determine whether this tool is good or bad for you.

I want to agree with this your last point, the way you use it determines how it goes with you, wether an entertainment, a relief or a stress or more tension.

I believe one of the major reasons why gambling is not serving the purpose of its creation which is entertainment is the mindset people get into gambling with. So many people get into gambling with just a profit making mindset. People look at gambling as a major money hub, and this mindset makes them go an extra mile just to get there wins, even though it requires them borrowing just to play bets. In my country, it's the industry where an agency gets its funds for helping the poor and needy. We call it PCSO(Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office), and they're a charity agency of the government that runs lotteries and other gambling games to raise funds for most of the medical needs of the citizens who ask for monetary help at their office.

However, gamble has been built on a bad name right from it origin and that's why the society don't easily see anything good about it. All types of activities have positive and negative aspects. However, in some cases, the positive aspects are more, while in some cases, the negative aspects are more. I will see all the issues you have discussed in the case of gambling among the positive aspects. Good Gambling site is not related to any kind of negative work. But if a person who bets does not control his emotions responsibly, then the negative aspects will have more impact on him. I doubt if gambling give that reliefs one needs from stress, what it does it to put players under pressure and tension and not relieve actually. mostly especially when you’re waiting for the game you’ve place a bet on to be played, Most gamblers don’t get enough sleep and rest after a long day at work because they are anticipating the results of the game so I don’t agree with your point. Yup- I actually do believe that gambling is not all that bad. The problem stems from excessive addiction to the point that people tend to prioritize it than meeting and fulfilling their obligations.

When exercised with moderation, gambling can provide you some benefits like OP just mentioned. Just to add, the lessons that you learn from gambling are the ones that will last you forever especially when you realize your mistakes. It makes you think and reflect more especially if you are feeling most of the bad luck from your games.

Until and unless you moved on from this sport or if you know your limits, you wouldn't be able to take advantage of its positive effects especially if you're too deep in such hobby.

It can also trigger more stress when the gambler doesn't gamble right; we always talk about how gambling can help us relieve stress but forget to include the danger of not being careful. We have seen posts here in the forum that talk about being anxious while gambling and being more stressed and emotionally down, which is a result of being too obsessed with the game instead of just using it as a means to relieve stress.

I think one of the main reasons is an inability to accept losses. This is what might make a gambler feel more stressed while waiting for the outcome of a game. If you’re not prepared to lose, it’s no longer gambling for entertainment. In my case, when i play slots, watching each spin makes me feel calmer and happier, i don’t know why, but that’s how i feel. Even though the odds of winning are very slim, it’s not a problem. However, for a few reasons, it is never a good idea to put everyone in a big risk. Everybody makes mistakes, but not all learn lessons from them. Some ex-gambling addicts are now counsellors, helping people to become free from addictions. They use their personal experience as a tool to help others. Some of their stories are so inspiring that you would have to take the same path. There are former gambling addicts who have built businesses after overcoming bad times. The lessons they learned from that bad experience have also helped them in building a successful career. I know someone who said that he learned patience and risk-taking through gambling.

In today's world, gambling has become much easier due to the advent of modern technology. And due to the huge inflation in the world economy, most people have faced financial crisis. So if you look at it realistically, most of the gamblers today get involved in gambling in the hope of earning money directly. And due to lack of proper control over themselves, gamblers most of the time become addicted to gambling. Which brings financial disaster in their lives. This same picture is seen in most places in our society. As a result, we do not easily find any good side of gambling. It is basically a means of entertainment, but even when common people come for entertainment, they fall into greed and face big financial losses.
