All there are advantages and disadvantages included in gambling, maybe for the players this will not be an excuse because gambling will sooner or later make us lose but for other things this creates a new strategy in terms of business, jobs start to open for some people because with gambling they can get a good job, taxes for the government or even in terms of visits and foreign exchange a country can increase rapidly just because of gambling and one concrete example is Macau. In fact, in some cases today Macau is more famous for its gambling than its culture.

This shows that gambling is not completely bad for a while, but even so we still cannot consider this to be entirely positive if we become gambling players because there are several things we need to pay attention to so that the game that is usually based on entertainment actually turns into a disaster for ourselves.

The truth is that there are always two sides to these things, from one angle it is something that alot of people claim has wrecked lives but from a different angle we can also argue that it has generated a lot of revenue for the government in countries that it's legal and also created so many employment opportunities and I'm saying this because I once worked in a gambling house and I know about a lot of people that still work there till date.

Well that’s simply because gambling itself isn’t the problem, the real problem is the individuals at the other end, how they react towards gambling and how they choose to approach it. While there are so many people who constantly complain about how gambling has been chaotic towards them and how they’re almost being ruined by gambling. And even in the midst of this complain, there are also people who succeed in making gambling their getaway from stress and anxiety. These are two different people approaching the same activity but with different approaches and mindset.

Gambling is not good and it's not bad either it's just an activity that if not properly used to well, it will cause harm that is why they say people that should gamble should be 18 years and above because of the belief that by 18 years you should be able to understand how to make use of things properly.
Unfortunately age to me just a number people that are disciplined and have good understanding of candle are the ones who are supposed to gamble, but society regards them to as 18 years but me I don't it's about just personality.

It wasn't as if there are no positive side of gambling, but people will only project towards what others go through as difficult times from how they engaged it, living behind other positive advantage they have benefited in the past from gambling, that is why people will always act funnily, neglecting order positive influence of gambling and only concentrate on what it might have caused some people out of their negligence.

Yes, it's true that the positive side of gambling can not be ignored, but that doesn't stop the fact that the majority of gamblers encounter the negative sides more than the positive aspects of it. Because for example, if 100 individuals are to gamble at an instant of time, it's possible that out of that 100, their is a likelihood that more than 80% might fall victim of trying to chasing profits, and in so doing might get carried away into addiction. And secondly, due the fact that the winning through gambling is not guy, thats why most people don't always advise other newbies to go into it.

Well I know that sometimes it's good to analyse the good side of gambling but the reason it's often omitted is that gambling is not favourable on the long term. People often analyse the negative sides of an activity when it has more bad than good impact and the same goes for the opposite. Indeed those you've listed are good points. Gambling provides various opportunities for different people, depending on where they find themselves.. even the government benefits from gambling through revenue and that's why to solve extent, gambling cannot be removed from the society no matter how bad it affects people. There's just too much to gain for the elites while those who gambles have alot to lose along the way..

People do ignore the positive aspects of gambling, and they focus only on the negative aspects of gambling. Actually I blame addicted gamblers for that, because they are the ones that make gambling look bad to people. They do crazy things in the society which makes lots of people lose interest in gambling, and they make gambling look bad. If you are not addicted to gambling, then it’s fine, but addiction is bad, and we should always try to control ourselves. Don’t do crazy things just because you want to gamble, try and gamble responsibly.

The only good side that gambling has to me is that it is purely good entertainment but not the type you do everyday. Like with anything, too much of it can become like a poison. But calling it a positive side would maybe be irrelevant. Just because it is entertaining does not automatically make it positive? Or does it?

I do not think we should glorify it or try to dress it up as something it isn't- an income source and/or a get rich quick scheme. Some people think they can just create a strategy... No matter how good of a strategy you can create, you cannot hack logic.

Gambling only contributes to mental development based on certain conditions, I don't think gambling makes anyone disciplined or be in control of their emotions, these are things that you are supposed to learn even before you become a gambler. Having discipline makes you a better gambler but gambling itself doesn't really help anyone achieve this.

One positive side of gambling that we can all agree on is the entertainment side of it, gambling is a recreational activity and when it is done the right way it helps people relax but in recent times gambling doesn't give anyone this effect because people hardly gamble for entertainment anymore.

Another positive side of gambling is the fact that people can end up becoming rich through it at anytime, although this happens unexpectedly and not everyone can get lucky.

Everything has its pros and cons, but the most obvious benefit of the gambling industry, as I see it, is the tax revenue it generates for the government, which the government can then use for various public purposes, such as improving infrastructure, supporting healthcare, and so on. As for the other points you mentioned, such as good decision-making, risk assessment, and so on, those actually come down to the individual, and gambling has nothing to do with them.

Aside from the lots of contributions people have given, I think one benefit of gambling responsibly is the friends we make, lol. I've met alot of acquaintances turn friends from the mutual fond of gambling and I think that is really underrated.

I don't normally like when people preach about the benefits of gambling because it becomes an enabling factor for bet addict to continue but this topic is appreciated because it's a breathe of fresh air.

You're not far from the truth, what you said here is the actual reason why we barely talked about the positive side of gambling and this makes it look like we are into something that does not have advantage meanwhile we all know that anything that has advantage is likely to have disadvantage of which we can't sideline gambling because I know for a fact that there is positive side of gambling.

But I know there are people who are still having a doubt or even asking questions like what is that thing that gambling could give to us that we would say it's good? You know aside from the wining we get there are other things we get while gambling such as fun and entertainment even though some gamblers don't believe that gambling is part of entertainment or fun.

Anyway, if we are to judge by the majority, then gambling would always have a negative side but, over time, we hear stories of those that got real lucky from the lottery. Like the woman who bought a lottery ticket just to discredit the husbands gambling behavior and ended up winning millions of dollars or the recent case of a man haven’t bought a lottery ticket, trashed it in the waste bin because he didn’t see the possibility of a win, only to come back looking for the ticket after discovering his number played.

One in a million occurrences for sure but, to these unique lucky persons, they would feel otherwise and the entertainment does come to many but not most.
