You've added a good side to the equation and another perspective. I have already talked about here several times that there are many studies that prove that for the most people they are not increasing efficiency or being enhanced, but that their skills are suffering really fast the more they rely on AI. This is completely contradicting the beliefs of modern people that adopt technologies that are bad for them due to social pressure and trying to pretend that they are keeping up with the times. If someone is demonstrated by science to be bad for you, a reasonable person would try to stay away from that as much as possible.

When it comes to the perspective of companies, there have been mixed results. One of the reasons why the data coming from companies is very bad is because the incentives in the companies were horrible. Basically many companies created some kind of scoreboard system where more usage of AI was seen as good by individual employees, and then this creates a very bad incentive where they are just using AI to have token spending metrics. This creates huge costs at very low efficiency, basically a huge waste and burn of money. On the corporate level AI has a better chance to cause gains, but it can't be used this way irrespective of the reliability.
