From my observation, I don't think PSG played at their best against Aston Villa despite taking control of the possession in the game and winning the Super Cup. I actually expected more from them, giving the fact that Aston Villa are not the best right now compared to the previous season after selling off two of their  best players.

Aston Villa made the game a bit competitive though but it was always in my head that PSG would win the trophy despite their opposition.

Yes as expected PSG won the game and my predictions went as planned, I’ve followed this two teams closely for a while now and they’ve always produced goals. I know PSG will win but they won’t keep a clean sheet because they aren’t even at their best yet since the season is just getting underway . But I know they’ll do everything possible to win the UEFA super cup trophy considering the fact that they are the UEFA champions playing against Europa League champions, they wouldn’t want to spoil their reputation and so it ended 2:1 in favour of PSG and I’m happy for the home win and over 2.5goals.
FIFA and UEFA doesn’t operate in the same technological framework, I think it was just during the recently concluded World Cup that FIFA introduced the built in chip motion sensor balls, but UEFA prefers a standard match ball with Camera base tracking, but let’s see if UEFA can decide to change their system in the years UEFA competitions.

We should always expect a tough game as long it's champions that are playing Paris saint Germain won UCL while Aston villa won the UEL so despite the odd was on Paris saint Germain to win i always know it won't just be an game Paris saint Germain.

The first half ended 1-1 with a good display from both teams, Aston villa had more chances to score but couldn't make use of those chances while Paris saint Germain took advantage of there own chance to win 2-1 to make it two times they are winning super cup in a row, they deserve to be congratulated.

Paris is way to strong for Aston Villa and that was shown yesterday, even coming in pre season form meaning not being in a perfect condition as most players coming from holidays, again they dominated the game. To me though and I guess also to many sport fans the Super Cup has not that much value when compared with Champions League and Europa League because this is just a game compared to the Champions and Europa that are full seasons.

Paris-Saint-German wasn’t as strong as we are thinking in that game, Aston Villa did really surprise me, I thought Paris-Saint-German was going to run away with the game, winning with a four goals difference margin, but unfortunately my prediction wasn’t right, Aston Villa scored after PSG have previously scored.

Yes, you can’t compare the Champions League or the Europa League to Super Cup, Super Cup is just like a game to officially open the season, whenever Super Cup is played means that the season have started in Europe, now other leagues will start playing there Domestic Super Cup, England calls it community Shield, then the Domestic League will start very soon, and football is officially back.

Aston Villa had their chances in the match and they were close to at least a draw and possible extra time, but PSG showed their quality and kept the lead.

In both seasons when they won the Champions League in the group stage of the competition, they were not first and struggled.

Simply, the season is very long and tiring, with a lot of matches and it is necessary to allocate strength and focus on the most important competitions, the championship and the Champions League.

I was expecting a close game and that was what we watched as well.    It was the most natural thing to see PSG having a high ball possession percentage. But they couldn't fend off the attacking attempts by Aston Villa anyway.

We could have easily seen extra time but unlucky for Emery... The odds of the match were already giving us hints like it would be a close one. BTTS was my betting choice and glad to see it winning in the 1st half already!

I would say it's not entirely the assistant referee's fault if I'm asked because he waved at what he saw, it's human error which is very common, so I won't entirely blame him. It's good that VAR intervened which is actually part of their job as well. Talking about the built in chip, this technology has been in place since Qatar 2022 but I really don't know why clubs didn't adopt this tech, although I think the EPL will adopt it this season as well as other other leagues, not totally sure but it's a technology that will be adopted soonest.

I disagree with this absolutely. PSG did not sell their best players unless if you're referring to the likes of Kolo Muani as best player. The PSG squad still consist of Nuno Mendes, Hakimi, Neves, Vitinha, Barcola and Kvaratskhelia which are consider the main squad of PSG. I can only agree if they sell two to three players from these list.

When you see Unai Emery in competitive games like this you should know it won't be an easy game for the opponent. For sure PSG has been dominating European football for two seasons now so clearly they were the favorites and I never doubted their victory against Aston Villa, I just knew they would have to fight hard for it. It was a very interesting game and a good way to start the season for PSG.

This game alone can't determine their strength for the season but can motivate them to have a better season. With all the preparations other teams have done if PSG can still dominate and win the champions league then I will be more impressed. I guess you wanted to say that Aston Villa sold their best players and not PSG because I haven't heard or read any news where PSG sold any of their best players, as a matter of fact, all their best players are intact because Luis Enrique is hoping for a 3 consecutive Champions league title. I agree that PSG didn't show that fierceness that are know for, but they still display some level of professionalism against Aston Villa. The narrative would have changed if Aston Villa won the Super Cup. It is not easy to beat PSG, if Aston Villa had scored more goals in the match, PSG would have scored at the same time, and the match would have been more competitive and would have gone to penalties in the end, but even then Aston Villa could not have beaten PSG before penalties, and even if the match had gone to penalties, I think PSG would have won.

The team is still pretty much the same and they’ve got the very players that they used in lifting trophies still featuring in the first team, Dembele, Doue, Kvaratskhelia, Hakimi, Marquinhos, Mendes and these guys have being able to synchronize their play to win trophies. Very few people doubted that PSG would win the Super Cup. One of the main questions was how they would do it, in regular time or perhaps on penalties. But since a penalty shootout is basically a game of luck, PSG decided not to give Aston Villa any chances and won in regular time.

Yes the team sold some players but non of them was the best in PSG and they might not even have a place on the best four players in PSG because whenever they want to sell some persons Enrique doesn't attempt selling the best ones the club has except he is replacing the player with someone that's above him. However the match was already obviously seen to be won by PSG but those that predicted tough match was also right because Aston Villa did attempt to win PSG after they began to play 1:1 but Dembele and Doue actually got ahead of them as he assisted Doue to score PSG second goal.

The PSG vs Villa match was full of excitement from the beginning. After the first goal, it seemed that Villa would lose their rhythm a bit. But Aston Villa showed a competitive match. Villa's attack was more from the beginning. They counter-attacked several times but the attack did not yield results because Villa did not have a finisher like PSG. Both teams defended quite strongly in the match. Especially in the past, we have seen a slight lack of rhythm in PSG's defense at times. But in the last match, PSG's defense line stood at the same strength throughout. If the match had gone into extra time, it would have been more exciting. But the match was enjoyable.
